Geez, a link with the word "anchorperson" in it and no pictures of Melissa Theuriau?
2005-12-11 03:14:33 AM
MY BAD....He still does morning traffic on that station along with being on the radio. It is still a little old though. ClicheName......OVER REACT MUCH?

robobular: does anyone actually know if this is real?

it looks like something that could be easily edited..

I was thinking the same thing.

The cool thing is that whoever originally had this video was watching it on their ReplayTV (notice the blue 'play' sign in the lower right corner when the video starts). GO Replay TV!!
2005-12-11 03:17:56 AM
I work for a TV station.

So I am really getting a kick really .

Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about.

But trust me.... You don't.

I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you dont know what you are talking about.

This is how bad info gets passed around.

If you dont know about the topic....Dont make yourself sound like you do.

Cuz some Farkers belive anything they hear.

Profanity in traffic reports can cause trouble during news casts. More at 11.
2005-12-11 03:20:42 AM
RInewsPhotog, so how is PBS working out for you anyway? I remember that interetsing story about Nicguanzaca you we're telling me about....

brb, didn't get all that turd out before.
2005-12-11 03:21:27 AM
This was basically in reaction to RTV changing over to "Parkervision", which is automated TV news, and laying off a crapload of workers.

Honestly, if you were a director and you saw "F Off" written on your traffic monitor (which you see in preview), would you take it live on the air? And let it sit there for that long? Take out to a camera shot, go to bars for god's sake, just don't let that sit on there.

yeah all i've seen in anyones direct video link url is nine seconds of that damned milk and cookies logo.
2005-12-11 03:39:37 AM
Am I to assume someone just happened to be recording the traffice report at this specific time?

I'd put better odds that this video comes from the very person responsible for such vulgarity which could harm our wholesome and pure children.
2005-12-11 03:43:01 AM

this one works for me as of now.

Muchas Gracias! Thats how you leave a job in style!

Hey, have you guys heard about this ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US thing?
2005-12-11 03:56:16 AM
For those of you who can't view the video on there (like myself), my friend found this:

Yes, it works, I just downloaded it. Everyone say "Thank you, strange misc. Asian man of indeterminate age" to the strange misc. Asian man of indeterminate age who found it for me.
2005-12-11 03:56:25 AM
Is that like the new Yatta thing all the young kids are talking about?
2005-12-11 03:57:52 AM
Well, I thought it was bloody hilarious once I was able to finally view it. Still not as funny as the newscaster being attacked by a flying lizard, though.
2005-12-11 04:04:38 AM
Yessir, oldie but most certainly a goodie.

Btw I know the guy who wrote that. He got really mad at someone and did that to get back at the person. I also am a 10th degree black belt. I own too many successful businesses to count. I am a concert pianist also. But my true passion is saving the universe.

Dreadpirate: I'm glad I'm in Canada.

Much to learn I still have.

LincolnLogolas: Where's the one where the newscaster blows up on the hecklers?

This one? ADS NSFW

Or the one with the Asian reporter vs. the Opie & whatever show.

The best part is the fact the video ends just as the weather man comes on and he's got that look on his face like, "Fark off?" I was amused by the whole thing, but when his face came on, I was busting a gut.

The spooky thing for me is the site - devilducky dot com.

I used to write spoof articles (about cricket) under the pseudonym Devil Ducky - and I nearly bought the domain name a few years ago.
2005-12-11 06:23:04 AM
I know it's a cliche, but I actually did used to work for that particular TV station and know the anchorwoman.
2005-12-11 07:23:11 AM
First a big X... and now this. The Dirty Liberhuls strike again.
2005-12-11 07:27:53 AM
OK first of all this video appeared on Ebaums world the day AFTER it happened.

How do I know?? Because I'M the traffic reporter. Yes, it really is me.

I wish I were joking or trying to be clever.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was the 825am local news cut in during Good Morning America.

I have no preview monitor for my telestrator so I had no idea what was there until I turned around and saw the monitor.

After the incident there was a 2 month investigation, after which it was determined that someone behind the camera was screwing round with equipment that he had no idea how to use. He was promptly fired.

During that time, everyone in front of and behind the camera had to undergo questioning, and handwriting analysis.

I can't tell you how many times I had to write "F-Off." both right and left handed.

The strange thing is, the guy who did it, kept denying it for 2 months straight. He didn't fess up until confronted with the analysis.

On one hand it's kinda cool being on the front page of Fark.

On the other hand, I wish this would just go away and die.

OH and whoever wanted to pay big bucks for the story...Bring it ON!!
2005-12-11 07:27:56 AM
That clip is way old.
2005-12-11 07:49:11 AM
What I heard about the incident was that the station got a Parkervision system in, which for the uninitiated is an automated news system which takes a newscast which normally requires about a dozen people to run and automates the hell out of it so that it can be run by two people. This is possible because news is pretty tightly scripted, so it's pretty much the only type of television programming that can benefit. Even then, it fails pretty bad on breaking news. Of course, two people can't keep track of every single aspect of the entire production, so if someone who got laid off in favor of the system decides to exact his revenge by scrawling a profanity on a telestrator, the director can end up taking it live without noticing it beforehand.

djtom, way to keep your cool on camera. Never ceases to amaze me how you talent folk can deal with the unexpected without blinking an eye.

Good job
2005-12-11 08:21:49 AM
That was awesome. I'm a traffic reporter as well (yup, third one in this thread) and I, sir, salute you. Luckily for the people of the New York area, they only hear me, even though it is a TV channel, but my point is, I hope, that if ever put in that position, I handle it with as much poise as you did. Outstanding.
2005-12-11 08:28:47 AM
It is time for all the submitters, and everybody else on Fark, to go to the video section of Ebaumsworld and watch all the videos. That will prevent future redundancy, and besides, it's very entertaining.
2005-12-11 08:35:53 AM
Who the hell greenlit this?

I saw this on eBaum's World months ago.
2005-12-11 08:35:56 AM
It seems that all the other links to the video aren't working for me. Here's one that is (I suck at HTML):

djtom; again, way to keep it moving.

I went to high school with you, dude. Voted for you in some school election - don't even remember what it was for, though. I remember when you were the DJ at that under-21 place on the Southside. Hope I'm not revealing too much here, hehe.

Good job!

2 things wrong with this thread:

1)Pretentious over-users of Fark.
2)Those goddamned slashes. Its like some huge circle-jerk of /'s, and some obvious shiat you could've plainly stated.

I dont see whats wrong if the guy said "You fail!" god forbid someone disagrees with something that gets posted here. But No. Not only did he post something negative, appearntly someone (or alot of someones) over-reacted and sent him off into a rant, and now ALL of his posts got deleted? Wow. Whats next for you badwagoning slash whores? Goosestepping?
