When I was in high school, we had a name for people who wore pants so baggy they showed off half their underwear.

So what's next for today's "hip" youth? Highwaters? Pocket protectors? Thick-rimmed glasses with the masking tape wrapped around the bridge?

Today's kids are idiots.

At my fantasy school everyone would wear Bay City Rollers pants.

Students said the new prohibition is aimed at groups who some label as "Goth" or "freak."

I vote for label "B".

Safety concerns?
Sounds like a recipe for "evolution in action", let em' have at it.

They should just let rabid dogs loose in the school. All the dumbasses wearing those retarded, baggy pants will be eaten while the smart kids escape. Darwinism at its finest.

to blave: I think Ultraworld parties might still be fun... I'm pretty sure Lonnie Fischer is still doing the Ft. Armistead Park parties. (I could be wrong)

WINONA, Minn. -- Winona Senior High School has prohibited students from wearing a certain style of baggy pants because of safety concerns.

"Bondage" pants -- pants with several straps that hook from each back pocket to the opposite pant leg -- were banned about a month ago. The school's dress code committee decided that students shouldn't wear any strap that could be unsafe, whether made from chain or fabric, said associate principal Jeff Sampson....

So they are going to ban chains? Like the kind with crosses or other religious symbols? That's unamerican.

Didn't the entire baggy pants thing start in prison because the guards would take away belts so they couldn't be used as weapons?

That's what my husband says. And apparently the "just got out of jail" look is in nowadays.

Every time I see some young punk with his pants halfway down and his boxers showing, I feel an urge to tell him to pull up his pants and put a belt on.

/32 isn't old, is it?
2005-11-30 11:15:02 PM
when are they going to ban suits and ties and polished dress shoes..don't forget high heels and skank perfume or clogne..
2005-11-30 11:31:52 PM
Just let them wear what they want. Banning the pants only encourages more of these attention seeking twits to wear the farking things.

And didn't bondage pants become as uncool as raver wear (I owned a pair of raver pants. I'm not proud of it.) like three years ago?

Seriously, I can remember my friends wearing those pants back in 96 to come stealing at the store in which I worked. These kids today have no sense of originality? fashion?
I just pray phat pants are passe by the time my 18 month old son is a smelly adolescent.

I can't wait until this generation grows up and looks back on this and realises just how stupid they trully looked. Like someone else said, I just want to smack 'em and tell them to pull their freakin pants up.
Whats worse is I moved to Germany and you'd think I would have escaped all that stuff... NOPE, even the kids over here think ghetto is cool. Were we this dumb as kids?

I'm afraid of what our kids will wear as smelly adolescents.

Yeah, and it makes it easier for the cops to catch them if they try to run away...

When I was in sixth grade, the halls at school were aglow with neon clothes....
2005-12-01 11:34:02 AM
Foot and a half diameter pants cuffs? Holy farking lord. That's equal to a 56.5 inch circumference. Could cut the kids pants in half and make two skirts for horrendously obese people.

That kid could hide two Chris Farleys in his pants, literally.

haha i use to wear pants like that all the time.. omg it was so awesome.. yea i tripped once wearing them. only once!
2005-12-01 02:28:04 PM
i guess all of you are entitled to your opinions, but people should be able to wear whatever they want, no matter how ridiculous, and not have douchebags harrassing them for it
2005-12-01 04:22:18 PM
I think people should have the right to wear whatever they want... and be harrassed for silly fashion decisions.

The freedom to express yourself works both ways.
2005-12-01 05:23:00 PM
You must be my age.... so happy to see neon die so quick.
2005-12-01 05:24:37 PM
I totally agree with the Darwinism effect that those stupid pants would lead to. That's even more heinous than the camo girl. Dumbass retailers market this stuff to dumbass kids that ...Holy shiat - did you see the headline on the bottom of the page about the 11 year old rapist!?
