I'd agree with firing him. There are plenty of other people to hire for the job.

If that went on in the XFL I might have watched. It would've been cool seeing Bobby "The Brain" Hennan moving the chains behind the refs back.

Sad. What a dumbass. 23 years of coaching down the drain.

And here I was thinking that the headline was a complex euphamism for a deviant sexual act.

I'm confused. How can a coach move the marker? Don't the officials holding them get sort of annoyed?

2005-11-30 12:19:00 PM

Why didn't I think of that?

2005-11-30 12:19:32 PM
At least the link I submitted yesterday had video and a slideshow.

Oh well!

Did anyone else expect that he did something much worse?,,,i just thought that any article that began with "high school football coach caught on video..." would have to do with some sort of sexual misconduct.

Fire the coach? Nope.

Offer to forfeit the game? Nuh-uh.

Oh yeah, great example being set there...

2005-11-30 12:23:19 PM
Heh, my father did the same thing when they needed volunteers for the freshman football games. Our team noticed, but the opposing team and referees never noticed, or ignored it ...

It's good to be Italian-American. Nobody ever questions you for fear of being shot.

"We're still league champions," said Joey Padilla, a SPHS football player. "It ain't nothing. We would have had that first down, no matter what. Besides what the coach did, or whatever, he just wanted us to win."

How much do assistant high school football coaches get paid?

Safeinsane:

Thanks for the link.

It is interesting to see that the player interviewed for the "cheating team" says they would have gotten the first down anyway. He sounds like a real winner.

Typical reatarded mentality. I'm glad i ditched school sports as soon as i got into highschool.. even after constantly being hounded to join the wrestling team by the whole school admin. fark busting my ass every spare moment of your free time to play high school sports. It always pissed me off how the wrestlers at our shchool would get away with EVERYTHING and didn't even have to show up to class or do shiat to get good grades.

Man, that kids statement just reminded me of the ignorance of every major sports player at my school.

yeah, i do want fries with that, dickbag.

At local high school game last week, a coach informed the ref a player was playing without proper equipment.

Of course he didn't want the player to get hurt. It was just coincidence he told the ref on 4th and goal from the 1 foot line in the third quarter.

From what I hear, in Arkansas, this would be punishable by death from lynching.

For the sake of every child who believes that athletes are true role models, I hope this dope suffers a career-ending injury before he has a chance to become a role model.

"Gelb said Bryan will continue working for San Pedro High's special education department while serving his football suspension, which will be reviewed by the league."

Yeah. This is the kind of quality individual they should have teaching special needs kids.

the bad guy.

You mean a high school football coach undermined the role of the officials? Oh noes!

Next thing you know, he'll be trying to point out penalties and trying to bend other rules to gain an advantage.

Y'ever notice that all too often football coaches in high school are either teaching ridiculously easy classes, or 'tards?

I have to take issue with Joey Padilla, it didn't look like they would have gotten the first down where the spot was marked by the official's foot. Padillia and his coach are both complete fools. I hope that little Joey now realizes that he is the appologist for ineffective play covered by dishonest action. Buncha waste of humanity in my book.

2005-11-30 12:52:38 PM
Wait, I think we're all missing the point here...

It's the quarterback's fault!

You know whats really sad? 23 years spent and only an assistant coach for a high school team.

funny how the lazy kid had his cisco/a+/MCSE right out of high school, ditched that to work on and tune cars, and now makes more than most of them just by reselling car parts out of his house, and playing online poker.. all while SLOWLY on the way to law school :D

so yeah, when i see one of them working at mcdonalds, only in their early-mid twenties and looking 30, getting fat as fark because they didn't make the NFL because they forgot they are white... i have to laugh a little.

potato_chip_eating_geek: was the marker in the wrong place? perhaps he was correcting it? innocent before proven guilty folks.

Well, in my book, you don't go correcting stuff like that yourself unless it's some friendly match or training session that means nothing. Not being too down with the rules of your crazy game, I'm guessing moving these markers are the domain of officials, not coaches. So the coach should back off no matter how poorly the marker was placed.
