All comments about the GG being hot should include "For a politician."

She's nothing special.
2005-11-27 09:55:34 PM
Is the GG going to be the love object of the night for the eskos?
2005-11-27 09:55:42 PM
How many CFL fans did that game just win?

Survey: any comments from NFL fans/CFL virgins? Will you begin to watch more Canadian football now after seeing this game?

I want one of the hats that says Montreal won.

That and some montreal coloured confetti!
2005-11-27 09:56:13 PM
Very nice game...I'll have to pick up tix when the grey cup comes to town in 2 years.
2005-11-27 09:56:49 PM

I'd watch more CFL if cable networks here would cover it instead of showing paid programming. The CFL needs to allow FSN Northwest to show some games, some sort of deal.... i love the CFL/outdoor sports in winter where it might snow. I'm hoping it does next year in Winnipeg...

/see y'all at Canad Inns in 2006!
2005-11-27 09:57:27 PM
Now is Ricky going to get a swollen head again and try for the NFL too soon for a second time?
2005-11-27 09:58:05 PM
See you all in Winnipeg next year!

Go Bombers!

WSUCanuck: I'm hoping it does next year in Winnipeg...

Damn right! The Grey cup needs to be played in 6 inches of snow.

Poor Maas, he got them there and then gets no glory.
2005-11-27 10:02:11 PM
The Olympics is coming!
repeat GOLD 06!
2005-11-27 10:03:38 PM
Poor Maas, he got them there and then gets no glory.

he gets a grey cup ring, plus the consolation prize of getting to go to Hamilton.. wait you're right, he's being punished!
2005-11-27 10:04:18 PM
Another Grey Cup that was waaaaaaaay more interesting than the avg Superbowl.
2005-11-27 10:06:45 PM

The sound was jsut as bad on regular cable. you could hardly hear the music, the audio was out of sync with the video, and the singing was rather poor, I know BEP can do better than that.

I should hope so, cause that was crap, compared to the crap they have on their CD's it was gooey and liquidy.

j z: Someone explain the QB kicking the ball.

Trying for the on side kick. It's a free ball and he hoped his guys would recover.
2005-11-27 10:22:51 PM
Edmonton's coach cracked me up... he was just so gone at the end... he should get a good movie rights details with his story!

Having previously regarded NFL/CFL as boring, and lacking in flow and excitement, I have to admit that was a pretty good show, although the second quarter was fairly tame.
2005-11-27 10:30:34 PM
CFL on

Well if that Grey Cup doesn't show American cable why they should pick up the games, they'll never understand.
2005-11-27 10:34:21 PM
that was great
2005-11-27 10:36:09 PM
mind you the bicardi diet coke
subway chicken parmeasean
and bud
2005-11-27 10:37:58 PM
I was surprised to see that MSG was carrying the game live. Any Jersey farkers caught it?
2005-11-27 10:38:57 PM
WOTH, low power channel 25 in Cincinnati Ohio used to show CFL games, but stopped about 2 months ago. I was hoping to see this game. Channel 25 sucks. By the way, is the Grey Cup named after the same Earl Grey as the tea?
2005-11-27 10:44:04 PM
he was our governer general
same position as that hot gg hatian-qc chick
that passed the trophy today
2005-11-27 10:44:15 PM
Remember back in the day, when there was a 1 in 4 chance that the Roughriders would make it to the Grey cup?
2005-11-27 10:45:07 PM
only grey did it first 93 years ago

It's gotta be better than the Jets-Saints mistake going on right now
2005-11-27 11:16:22 PM
This was an outstanding game. It would have been better if the Als won, but c'est la vie. Also, if that bounce-back-rethrow to the touchdown reception had A) not been illegal and B) been caught. Oh well. See you next summer, guys.

What a pathetic display of poor coaching and poor player execution.

No wonder most Canadians are ashamed of the CFL. I was embarrassed watching the game.
2005-11-27 11:23:46 PM
Grey Cups are always far superior to Super Bowls, precisely because of endings like this. That was an awesome game, and I don't cheer for either team.

Extremely warm November weather, no snow, Esks win the Grey Cup, $400 cheque in January...

How can you not love living here...well maybe my point of view will change when it's -30 but it's a good day in Edmonton!

It wasn't the most exciting game in parts but man in the 4th and in OT you couldn't beat it! You'd NEVER see anything like that in the NFL or the Superbowl.

ha! my work jimmied the display television to pick up CBC, and we played the radio beside it since we couldn't get good enough reception to pick up the sound. The radio was about 5 seconds ahead of the t.v. coverage, so the last three touchdowns we caught on the T.V. were called on radio before the snap! ha, it was hilarious.

best game in recent memory, the store was empty so we had a lot of fun acting out during the action.

Sorry it's kinda late, and this isn't even a Photoshop thread. But I was inpired to learn about transparencies in PSP.

/I see people praising Imageshack in slashies, and now I know why.

I was working tonight, but for the couple of hours before the game started it was farking insane. We were also able to tell that the game was a good one since at one point we had two customers in an hour and a half.

/Lives in Edmonton
//Works at a liquor store by the university
///Is really a Bombers fan, but was cheering for the Esks anyway

Isn't there some kind of Fark IRC channel or some place where you guys can torment each other in real time during a big event? I just have to say though that the proper way to watch the Grey Cup was to first watch Seattle beat NYG in OT... and see the Giants kicker Feely miss 3 game winning attempts... then flip over to catch the end of the Grey Cup.

A couple of things about the broadcast:
>I watched it in SD. Anyone have a comment about the HD broadcast? How was it? Should we be buying $5000 52" plasmas?
>The CBC used the overhead wire-guided cam to follow the play. Apparently this was a first. The operator was pretty good, must have been brought in from the States.
>The players coming in through that goofy fireball alley.... Pure Cheddar.
> Players wearing their fresh new championship hats with those stupid cardboard tags flapping around.
> Edmonton coach flippin out at the end thinking the game was over... when it wasn't.
> Are the Black Eyed Peas Canadian? Huh? Why were they there? I don't get it. Couldn't they book a Canadian band? Hedley is just starting their tour.

That is all.
2005-11-28 12:07:09 PM
Damn, am I overhung this morning. That was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen.

Well done, Esks. I'm sorry for doubting ya!
2005-11-28 12:43:14 PM
Rouge indeed is the french word for "red". In the days of old, they would substract a point from the defensive team during a field goal return if they could not return it outside of their own end zone. Then you could have teams with "-1" point and they would be "dans le rouge" (in the red).

Think of it as a safety but for field goals.

Is Danny Maciocia not the biggest flamer in football history, or what? I say this despite being an Eskimos supporter. Honesty is the best policy.

CFL can be viewed in many US cities, mostly major cities like New York, Denver, Houston, etc. You have to check your local sports networks or cable company for air times. Not all of them run it live. You can check the CFL website under the Grey Cup link somewhere on there for US cable coverage.
