These Greek tropical storms are all going to end up in Cancun for Spring Break, you watch.
2005-11-23 03:43:56 PM
When will they stop naming storms just to name storms so they can reference these many storms in their storm reports? I love a good storm, but these storms are just getting out of hand, and I'm in a storming rage over this shiatstorm.

2005-11-23 05:15:51 PM
Aaaaa...too much cold air coming in from the west. That thing is going to sheer to nothingness. Still pretty impressive that the water is hot enough to allow these to develop though.

Even for an active phase of the Multi-decadal cycle, this season has produced far more than we're likely to see next year.

Unless, of course, I'm wrong.

/only thought we'd hit Gamma
//already one past that with another storm in December not out of the realm of possibility
2005-11-23 05:21:36 PM
Alpha alpha is next after omega
2005-11-23 05:21:42 PM
I guess they named storms after the Greek alphabet because as these storms hit we sure take it in the ass with insurance premiums going up.

Oh yeah, and say hello to Tropical Storm Pissed-Off-Passenger. Hoping to one day emerge from a Delta flight on time.
2005-11-23 05:27:40 PM
...Still pretty impressive that the water is hot enough to allow these to develop...

Warmer than usual ocean waters for longer amount of time has also caused massive bleaching events in coral reefs in tropics around the world. Some large areas near Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Australia have had 100% bleaching. All tropical reefs affected to some degree. If it continues much longer there will also be massive die-offs.

Not good.

2005-11-23 06:00:41 PM
If that thing turns toward the Azores and grows to hurricane force and causes that cliff to fall and generate a tsunami, then you can kiss New York goodbye! OMFG! We are all going to die!
2005-11-23 06:00:47 PM
If this hits St. John's, Newfoundland, I'm gonna screech...

Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on?
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?

//yes, I *AM* old. Get off my lawn!

Cranky Bastard

Mark your calendar. Today marks the first Tanya Tucker reference I've seen on Fark.
