Is anyone besides MSNBC reporting the gear is down?

2005-11-21 02:58:19 PM
CNN still says the landing gear isnt fully down.

2005-11-21 02:58:25 PM

penywisexx: (pops)Nike Job Opening am I the only one that finds this funny?

OMG that's funny, ironic and scary all at the same time....

2005-11-21 02:58:56 PM
I just heard over the KPTV stream that they may have fixed the gear. The plane's going to do another pass soon to confirm.

2005-11-21 02:59:11 PM
Might as well go watch nothing happen.

2005-11-21 02:59:29 PM
Too bad for the media. They followed this story for hours and there will be no crash.

2005-11-21 02:59:49 PM
I hope the damn thing blows up. I feel no sympathy for corporate fat cats.

MSNBC reporting they got the gear down. Landing in 15 min.

Rainbowtyedye
MSNBC is reporting that they jarred the landing gear loose and they are landing in about 10-15 minutes.

Per MSNBC TV
They have just said that they were just able to get the gear down and in place. The plane will be landing within the next 10-15 min.

See what I mean?
Just amazing.

2005-11-21 03:01:02 PM
I'm watching this on local TV in Portland. Local stations are creaming themselves, as this is happening during a sweeps month.

Since when did Fark become the source of 'up-to-the-minute' news?

As long as I can remember (januaryish 2001)

2005-11-21 03:02:13 PM
CNN is just now saying that "possibly" it has just now gone down.

No shat. Teen girls are raped half as often at Nike plants than they are at other plants. But you wouldn't know that with the disrespect shown here.

Which Nike plants? Did you tell Nike about this?

Arnold T Pants-

The media? What about all of the time we've wasted in this thread? I'm getting a lawyer.

2005-11-21 03:02:23 PM
Elaine just called saying, "The gear is down and we're ready to land. Ted Stryker unavailable for comment.

2005-11-21 03:02:46 PM
Ok, MSNBC says it's down, because a test pilot for Gulfstream said that they just managed to get it down using "standard emergency procedures." CNN says it's still kinda up and they're still preparing for an emergency landing. Fox News says that Islamic extremists put the Avian Flu in the landing gear.

The Nike executives were reported to be on their way to a press conference at which they were to announce massive Nike layoffs and plant closures in light of recent news that demand for driving slippers dove sharply in the wake of the GM plant closures decision.

3 Sri Lankan Nike executives declined comment. 12,000 child workers were too busy to talk to reporters.

2005-11-21 03:04:00 PM
CNN is also tripping over themselves to refer to the pilot as "He or she."

2005-11-21 03:04:16 PM
Does anybody know the name of the airport?

2005-11-21 03:04:33 PM
I hope the media doesn't start picking up on every irregularity in any aircraft now. It's really annoying turning on the TV during my afternoon break(s), and wanting to hear about what's happening in the world, but instead being forced to watch a stupid jet circling the runway for hours on end.

It's especially bad when I pick up the remote and say to myself, "Surely, they can't be covering this on every news channel . . ." And I proceed to flip through CNN, MSNBC, FNC, CNN:HN, and they all have the same shot of the stupid plane.

Christ.

I hope the damn thing blows up. I feel no sympathy for corporate fat cats.

I'm very curious about your particular brand of morality. Some people have made a ton of money, perhaps using methods you find objectionable, and you think they should die?

I don't like Nike either, but I'm far more wary of idiots like you.

2005-11-21 03:05:50 PM
here comes the landing...

2005-11-21 03:10:32 PM
It is the planes first flight under Nike ownership, but the plane has presumably been flown many times before.

Final approach now

2005-11-21 03:10:39 PM
Ah man... they're screwed... here's the pilot:

You know, I've personally flown over 194 missions and I was shot down on every one. Come to think of it, I've never landed a plane in my life.

2005-11-21 03:10:49 PM
