No. It's the oldest headline cliche that regularly gets the greenlight, and there's a reason for it - Duke sucks. It appears much more frequently during basketball season or when enough Douche fans make dumbass posts like yours.

THis is comedy gold!1eleventy1 Gee, who would have suspected Florida Gators to be the culprits of the theft of two FSU national championship trophies. If I were U of Florida, I would be putting extra security around all your trophies, because you know it will only be a matter of time before some of those wacky zany FSU students try to jack them up. I would even venture to say that FSU will not rest until they do get ahold of some UofF trophies.

It's the same as UF's. Of course, UF was supposed to be in national title contention this year with their "Heisman candidate" quarterback and new "savior" of a coach. FSU has a freshman qb, a much younger team overall, and was expected to sputter, albeit not as much as they have.

hm, FSU stole the championship from Nebrasaka in 93 (you know it's true), so i guess it was just karma. as for 99, Nebraska gave the championship to FSU. they picked it up in Austin, where it was left laying on the 3 yard line, or somewhere right around the 3.

i'm surprised the trophies were not found in a Dillard's bag.

FSU grads would not be smart enough to figure out how to steal unguarded trophies.

I always figured FSU stole the 93 championship from Notre Dame - a team with the same record that wiped the field with FSU the second to last week of the season and finished #2.
Of course, that's after the season. I can agree that after the loss to ND they stole it from Nebraska with the help of pollsters who figured it was FSU's "turn" and agreed to given them another chance after blowing the one they had. Bowden and several key players all specifically asked for another chance after the game.
Had they been dropped to 4th, behind undefeated Nebraska and West Virginia, then ND's loss the following week to Boston College would have led to an appropriate Nebraska - WVA Orange bowl and a very likely Nebraska championship.
So, yeh, I can go with them stealing it from Nebraska, although, you know, Nebraska COULD have made that last field goal as well...

When I was in college, I worked for the Athletic Department. One day I was using my keys to snoop around some of the storage closets in the basketball arena and found our I-AA National Runner Up trophy in a pile of other junk that had probably been sitting around for at least ten years. So yeah...I took the damn thing back to the house and set it on top of the TV. This guy I went to high school with lived around the corner and his dad was actually the coach of the team who earned that trophy. I told the guy to come over and see what I'd found in the pile of junk. He was shocked. I let him take the trophy and give it to his dad. As far as I know, it's still sitting on the mantle in the family's home.
