Hey, veruca, sorry 'bout that typo.

GalleyWench: your pix are absolutely scrumptious. Where is that house? I definitely need to roadtrip w/ you, veruca & monkeybort - we'll grab up idle_hands, too, no?

yeimi: wow. Can you come with us?

monkeybort: are you intentionally blending last week's theme (fire) with this week's? or is it a happy accident?

Happy accident insofar as the fire aspect of it only dawned on me after I posted the three pix last week. Lucky I could use it this week. (Church=bridge to the afterlife for next week's?)

we'll have to save her for our illegitimate silver based love child
When she gets older, she's gonna handle the concessions at the underground photo parties...

Next FARK party...Western State Hospital asylum ruins? I'll bring the beer :)

i like it! put me down for the chips and salsa!

Logomancer: When she gets older, she's gonna handle the concessions at the underground photo parties...

since she's going to be conceived there, that is only fitting.

Underneath the railroad tracks, above the river. This place was so surreal.

White Pines State Park - Oregon, Illinois.

veruca I can't wait!
Logomancer The more the merrier, I've already told idle_hands that I'd like to take her tripping around out there too.

If anyone wants to see a 20 year old photo of the same place verucas photo was taken, I added one to my profile.

Ha ha ha, I should refresh or type faster. The party should be during a full moon!

Logomancer Thanks. That house and totem pole are in Saxman Alaska. It's a native village near where I live. I thought I had put "Saxman" in the title of my photo. D'oh.

Galleywench:
a 20 year old photo of the same place veruca's photo was taken:

When the Full Moon Traveling Underground Photo Party stops in Rhode Island, there's an abandoned WWI coastal gun battery complex that has at least 40 years of graffiti and partying embedded into the crumbling concrete. Looks like a kindred spot.

I have two entries this week:
First, the ruins of the Roman Forum, taken on a recent trip to Europe. Hard to believe this whole area, including the pillars in the forground, was lost under a big pile of dirt.

2005-11-16 11:33:31 PM
Second Entry:
A waterfall in the Smokies. I figured this works for the passage of time in that erosion over time created the beatiful fall, or the time over which the photo was taken, which was rather long.

I told myself that I was going to stay away from the contest tonight because is takes too much time to get ready for. Then I found this from my first year of taking pictures back in 98.

Here is a tree that saw the passage of time. She was over six feet in diameter before I had to cut her down due to rot and being too close to the house. At leist I think it was a girl tree.

I loved it before they tore it up.

Arbroath Abbey, the place where the Declaration of Arbroath (think William "Braveheart" Wallace) was written. Now in utter ruin. Built before 1200s A.D. Arbroath, Scotland.
