Repo Man:

Oh crap, it's all flooding back. How about this gem, also from 1986 (what was it about that year?)

You know, if it's an annoying (Cliche/trite) song... odds are we all know the lyrics and occasionally wish we could forget them. Or just wasting space for the hell of it?
2005-11-02 01:21:38 AM
Allured Popple
Red Red Wine
Chicago from the 80s.

Unless I'm reading this incorrectly and you've listed two different things, I must point out that you're mistaken.

"Red Red Wine" is a Neil Diamond song that the band I hate more than any other, UB40, covered in about 1983. Chicago, to the best of my knowledge, has not covered it. But you ARE correct about including it in this list.
2005-11-02 01:21:59 AM
Not 80's, but I hateHateHATE that "holla back girl" crap, as well as "Hey Ya". Dear lord those songs are both sucky and vastly overplayed.
2005-11-02 01:23:08 AM

Frank Zappa and Adrian Belew play some decent music, for
2005-11-02 01:23:19 AM
I don't know who sings it, but that horrible song from the early 90's that's a bunch of guys singing, "I the moon and the stars in the sky..."

God damn, I hated that song.
2005-11-02 01:23:55 AM
Some of you are just throwing out good guilty pleasure songs...

TRUE shiat songs...

Anything by Huey Lewis & News
Anything by Stryper
Any Bette Midler (wings) song
Any Barbara Streisand
Any Janet Jackson song

White Lion "When the Children Cry" is total shiat
My Posse's on Broadway == TOTAL shiat
Any song from the "Breakin', Breakin 2, or Gleaming the Cube soundtack.
2005-11-02 01:24:01 AM
Do you people know what "80s" means? That means songs that were released between Jan. 1, 1980 and Dec. 31, 1989. That's TEN CONSECUTIVE years

Half the songs listed here are off by a decade or two.

/ besides everyone knows the worst stuff to come out of the '80s was any of the generic fag-metal (Great White, Whitesnake, White Lion, White Ratt, White Poison, White Semen, etc.)
2005-11-02 01:24:05 AM
goofoffgoose: I the moon and the stars in the sky..."

God damn, I hated that song.

jodeci. heh.

wydok: Yes! Edge is an awesome singer!

>>He also lead the audience in Karaoke during the PopMart tour. My favorite: Daydream Believer.<<

I saw him do that at that one... very cool! On the Zoo TV tour, Larry Mullen Jr. did an acapella of Danny Boy.... Excellent!
2005-11-02 01:24:23 AM
Nobody mentioned "Jump." Van Halen was a great band, but man, what a stinker.
2005-11-02 01:24:56 AM

Funny, because I was going to mention how godawful "You got the touch, you got the POW-ER!" was but I decided to go for the obscure instead.

I just realized how much of a geek I really am.

I thought of that line... Pictured the scene in my head... and got goosebumps.

/Still has my die-cast metal Optimus Prime and Megatron. (with the extended stock)
2005-11-02 01:25:27 AM
Don't be knockin the buttrock from the 80's.

Here's an annoying song:

Rumors - Timex Social Club
Anything by Starship (in the 80's)
and lets not forget "Pass the Dutchie"
2005-11-02 01:25:44 AM
These lyrics show the sheer awfulness of my picks. You may scroll past if you like (but I bet you won't, it's like trying not to look at a bad accident).
2005-11-02 01:25:58 AM
bonehead800: Not 80's, but I hateHateHATE that "holla back girl" crap,

I think you need the video to go with the music...if someone has the link handy to the B A N A N A S (the non gwen one) video, he might appreciate it.
2005-11-02 01:26:40 AM
Hey, there's always that "Fish Heads" song.

How Dare You! That song gets an automatic "pass" because:
1)The video is directed by Bill Paxton. Yes, the actor from Aliens, Twister, and Weird Science.
2)The song is written by Robert Haimer and Bill Mumy. Bill Mumy is Will Robinson himself from "Lost In Space."

Too Cool.

etoof: Boogie in the Butt
by Eddie Murphy

You know, I heard that song that song for the first time ever a couple days ago. I had my alarm clock set to KALX, a local college radio station, so when I heard it I was still half asleep and couldn't quite make out the words, but I kept hearing what sounded like "put it in your butt" over and over.

It was a rude awakening.
2005-11-02 01:26:56 AM

Hey do you know what pref. means?!? It means preferrably, so everything is fair game but he would prefer some 80's actually if you look in the submitter's list you see a few songs from the 90's and beyond.

/chill out
//bring on more crappy songs
///need to fill someones birthday ipod
/// slashtacuriffic

'50s: The Bristol Stomp, Pat Boone
'60s: Macarthur Park, Honey (Bobby Goldsboro)
'70s: disco (too numerous to list), Muskrat Love (or anything else by Captain and Tenille), AC/DC
'80s: Joe Satriani (I know he's a "hero", but he's a wanker), Wuthering Heights (Kate Bush)
'90s: anything by Korn and their ilk.

Actually, you could annoy the hell out of people just with Korn and Satriani.
2005-11-02 01:27:57 AM
"I've been waiting for this moment" by Phil Collins.

/game over, biatches
2005-11-02 01:28:06 AM
I think me and I forget what eight was for could go mano y mano on '80's song lyrics. Or mano y womano, whatever the case may be.
That said, I think "Somebody's watching me" by Rockwell (backing vocals my Michael and Jermaine Jackson) would be my pick for worst '80s.

2005-11-02 01:28:26 AM

All 4 One actually
2005-11-02 01:29:08 AM
P.S. I don't consider rap to be "music", but it sure annoys the shiat out of me!
2005-11-02 01:29:20 AM
ApeMan: and lets not forget "Pass the Dutchie"

Ahh, Musical Youth. Proof that if you made a video... They would play it.

Guess we could throw Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue in there.

You've got a secret now, honey,

you could blab it all over the school if you wanted
The label in that sweater

Legend of Bilbo Baggins as sung by
Leanard Nimoy....yep it is true, Spock had several records in the 60's and 70's. Most of the pure garbage....but they were sold believe it or not......

El Dangeroso:The entire repertoires of Blondie, Pink Floyd, Boston and Jimmy Buffett.

Blondie, yes. Boston, depends on the song. Pink Floyd and Jimmy? Blasphemy!!!
2005-11-02 01:32:35 AM

Chicago 4-The whole damned album.
2005-11-02 01:33:06 AM
I'm pretty sure the Divinyls did the original version of "I touch myself". I think it's pretty hot, but then I've got low standards I guess.
2005-11-02 01:33:22 AM
I'll say "cya later" in your butt!
Put an alligator in your butt!

The Boys are Back in Town

"Remember that one time at Johnnie's place?
That chick, she got up and slaped Johnnie's face.
Man we just fell around the place."

That, The Reflex, and Relax all make me want to jam a spoon into my ears and scoop out my eardrums. Oh, yeah, and Funky Town.
2005-11-02 01:33:56 AM
Rick Astley - anything he did was shiate
Flock of Seagulls - She Ran
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
Men at Work - Down Under / Who can it be Now?
Soft Cell - Tainted Love
The Romantics - Talking in Your Sleep
Dexy's Midnight Runners - Too-Rye-Ay / Come on Eileen
Mendelson Joe - Dance With Joe
Dead Milkmen - Punk Rock Girl
Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now
Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World / Shout
Wham - Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go

There was soooo much bad music in the '80s...
2005-11-02 01:34:11 AM
I'd randomly pick any 10 Guns and Roses songs.
Anything in the 80s will do, besides The Clash.
2005-11-02 01:35:05 AM
Gotta be...

1. "MmmmBop"
2. "She's like the Wind"
3. "Walk like an Egyption"
4. and that stupid Lionel Richie song..."All Night Long"
5. and what's that one with the you spin me round and round and a record baby???something like that.
6. And that Hello Major Tom song...4, 3, 2, 1,...Earth below us spinning falling...almost home?
7. Enough! Everytime I think I'm done, another horrid song pops into my mind.
2005-11-02 01:35:09 AM

I'm pretty sure the Divinyls did the original version of "I touch myself". I think it's pretty hot, but then I've got low standards I guess.

If you think thats hot.. try the Genitorturers version of it.

Throws just a wee bit of D/s into the mix.
2005-11-02 01:36:18 AM
mmcoder: Anything by Paula Abdul. Especially if there's a cartoon cat involved.

You take that back right now!

Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers

/A match made in Hell.

Any techno song where the computerized drum beat switches from 2/4 time to 4/4, 8/4, 16/4, 32/4, infinity/4.
Oh wait, they all do that.

In the middle of the earth in the land of the Shire
lives a brave little hobbit whom we all admire.
With his long wooden pipe,
fuzzy, woolly toes,
he lives in a hobbit-hole and everybody knows him

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Now hobbits are a peace-lovin' folks you know
They don't like to hurry and they take things slow
They don't like to travel away from home
They just want to eat and be left alone
But one day Bilbo was asked to go
on a big adventure to the caves below,
to help some dwarves get back their gold
that was stolen by a dragon in the days of old.

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Well he fought with the goblins!
He battled a troll!
He riddled with Gollum!
A magic ring he stole!
He was chased by wolves!
Lost in the forest!
Escaped in a barrel from the elf-king's halls!

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all

Now he's back in his hole in the land of the Shire,
that brave little hobbit whom we all admire,
just a-sittin' on a treasure of silver and gold
a-puffin' on his pipe in his hobbit-hole.

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all
