*nodding*

stupid is limitless...

A middle school got a bunch of kids together that had gotten into trouble for fighting, cursing...

For punishment the kids were given sharp instruments and told to "prune" the bushes around the school...

Several parents had to pay for new bushes.

/was one of those parents.

"It's OK! He just wanted his machete back!"

Hospital officials told police that Oandasan has been off his medication for about two weeks and that he thought the FBI and police were after him.

If they weren't before, they are now!

There's no need for that. That's uncalled for.

The number of escapes has declined sharply in the past decade, from 49 in 1997 to seven last year....
The hospital currently houses about 170 patients, though the number fluctuates.

So, what, nearly a third of patients escaped in 1997? Fantastic security.

Honolulu police say that the mental patient might be outside your window watching you undress now.

"It's also quite possible that he's standing right behind you now," said the police officer.

there are so many great things about this story

1. This story is a cliche movie plot.
2. The patient is "possibly violent" ...
3. he was charged on slashing tires, now he has a machete
4. his paranoid fears have finally come true.
5. amount of escapees

Um, if they were aware he'd been off his medication for two weeks, why hand him a machete and send him outside, especially since he was in there for 'slashing' mass amounts of car tires.

What (or who) is he going to slash this time?

Do they have doors at the hospital?

2005-10-28 08:03:38 PM
I work in a mental health facility.

So I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies.

Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about.

But trust me.... You don't.

I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you dont know what you are talking about.

This is how bad info gets passed around.

If you dont know about the topic....Dont make yourself sound like you do.

Cuz some farkers beleive anything they hear.

2005-10-28 08:20:47 PM
Umm am I the only one who thinks its more than a lil farked up that the police call off a search because of darkness? Is this because dangerous people with machetes are only dangerous during the day?

2005-10-28 08:22:09 PM
I applied for a job at a mental health facility at a nearby hospital and during the tour, I saw a pair of scissors in a patients room. Obviously I didnt even bother calling back.

/they probably wouldn't have wanted me anyway

2005-10-28 08:25:08 PM
They must have never seen sling blade.

2005-10-28 08:39:28 PM
Should've given it to the guy repeatedly saying "4 8 15 16 23 42".

2005-10-28 09:13:08 PM
You're probably safe if you don't get between him and your tires.

If running around with a machete whilst fearing abduction by the FBI is wrong, I don't want to be right!

The hospital currently houses about 170 patients, though the number fluctuates.

well, yeah, if they keep leaving, the number would fluctuate.

Apparently so have I. Let me try that again...

Yes, ma'am. I've killed Doyle Hargraves with a lawnmower blade. Yes, ma'am, I'm right sure of it. I hit him two good whacks in the head with it. That second one just plum near cut his head in two... It's a lil' ol' white house on the corner of Vine Street and some other street. There's a pick-up truck out front that says "Doyle Hargraves Construction" on it. Doyle said besides sending the police, you might wanna send an ambulance or a "hearst". I'll be sitting here, waiting on ye. Yep.. Going to get some biscuts and french fries. UMMMMMM

Come on Australian and British Farkers, this is a good opportunity for a "Little Britain" reference. You know which one I'm talking about.

InflatableJesus, he looks pretty much like the average guy making a living (?) blowing leaves around in the yards gardens around here.

I assume he's still paranoid until the FBI gets into the search.

I expect these kinds of acts of stupidity from Florida, but for some reason I expected more from Hawaii...

Whoops!

2005-10-29 04:46:10 AM
Well, of course he needed a machete to do yardwork - he is after all an ancient God of horticulture.

At least that's what the voices told him he was...

2005-10-29 08:05:37 AM
I guess the only saving grace here is that in the past he wasn't violent to people just cars. Maybe he's one of those tree huggers who think we should all drive hybrid cars. Or maybe since it's close to Halloween he just wanted to be able to go out trick n treating as Michael Myers!

2005-10-29 10:57:09 AM
Well, here's the overnite "update" on the tire-h8tr. Nothing new, except he's still out there. From the Star-Bulletin, providing the best coverage of Hawaii's mad slashers since, like, 1995:

A Hawaii State Hospital patient, who escaped with a machete Thursday afternoon, remained on the loose last night. Adonis Oandasan, who has a history of slashing tires, was last seen before 1 p.m. Thursday in the garden area of the Kaneohe hospital with a machete. Police said Oandasan had not taken his medication for a couple of weeks and was paranoid about police and the FBI being after him. Oandasan was charged last year with slashing the tires on dozens of vehicles on the Big Island, causing an estimated $3,188 in damage. He was transferred to the State Hospital in June. Oandasan was working in the garden, which is an activity to help patients reintegrate back into society. Anyone who sees Oandasan is urged to call police at 911.

/So, if I got put in jail for being drunk, would part of my "reintegration" program be handling bottles of beer?
//Always wanted to join a Garden Society -- working with plants all day is such a good way to get back used to dealing with people.
