George Takai has declared himself "Gay". Others argue he is "Asian". More at 11.

Well, maybe he can help pick out a better rug for Shatner's noggin.

I guess there's going to be an awful lot of slashfic out there that needs updating...

I like the MSN article better -- it lists Frontiers magazine as "a biweekly Los Angeles magazine covering the gay and lesbian community." Something about bi-weekly and gay / lesbian in the same sentence is funny.

Coming out trifecta?

2005-10-28 01:05:08 AM
Any word on whether he is the spokesman for a gay starcruiser line?

2005-10-28 01:05:13 AM
I had no idea. It's not going to change my opinion of him much. I enjoyed his character in Star Trek.

Athlete, actor, all we need is a musician and we'll have the trifecta!

I'm looking at you Clay Gaykin.

i love how yahoo for the story used the "gayest" picture they could find:

I BET his corridor is widening.

It's a surprise to me, I never suspected Sulu was a rice queen. Good for him.

Trifecta with Rove....

2005-10-28 01:12:53 AM
you go, George!

2005-10-28 01:12:58 AM
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

2005-10-28 01:13:16 AM
I have absolutely nothing to say about this. Nothing... except that at 68, Mr. Takei is still young enough to serve on the Supreme Court.

If it were up to me, I'd appoint him to the Court and kill two birds with one stone, minority-appointment-wise: you get an Asian-American and a gay man, all in one package. The action-hero stuff in his past is only icing on the cake!

And who would object? If anyone did, millions of Trekkies (Trekkers?) would rise up in protest.

Besides, he couldn't possibly be worse than the last nominee...

That picture is from the episode "Mirror, Mirror" in which Kirk, McCoy, and Uhura find themselves in an alternate universe aboard the ISS Enterprise.

Because it's a reverse universe, it is only natural that Sulu would be romantically attracted to Uhura.

/the more you know

It seems this has been unofficial public knowledge for a while. To wit,

Subject: Is George Takei Gay???

Is it true George Takei is gay?

The people in the gossip groups have said he's virtually been out for 20 years.
Active in all the San Francisco gay organizations. Shows up with his
"significant other" at the conventions.

I just always thought he was dorky. Doesn't he have a wife and kids or
something?

2005-10-28 01:14:42 AM
Well what does that make Kirk, McCoy and Uhuru in that episode? (Besides more fun at a party?)

I met him in an elevator once. (with the lights on and the motor running)

I thought he was the asian equivalent of Don Juan. Very cool, very smooth. Did not see his boi toi with him.

Love submitter's headline.

Talk about obvious.

Waitaminute... If he is gay and been living with another man for 18 years, then when did Sulu have time for a family?

2005-10-28 01:21:20 AM
I am sure you're right about Condi. But she'll remain closeted. With the indictments coming down, Rove will be outed as the mysterious White House bottom that got Guckert/Gannon his press pass.

Anyway, I'm outa here.

2005-10-28 01:21:40 AM
wow the sheryl swoopes effect will soon be a term coined by some news network... go mr. sssulu..

uhhh...how many obviously gay people will be coming out this week? Was there some big gay memo sent to all the homo's in the world that had a list of people titled "You ain't foolin' anyone, so ya just might as well give up now."?

You can imagine her with Ann Coulter drawing lots to determine who's going to be, you know, the man that night.

Of course Coulter has the advantage of not needing, er, an artificial appendage.

What is this homo's you speak of?

2005-10-28 01:29:55 AM
No doubt many will praise him. Some, sadly, will condemn him. But as far as I'm concerned, I just don't give a damn one way or the other.

I have no problem with homosexuals. I just don't think understand the whole concept of what you do for sex or companionship making you a protected class in society. I can understand not discriminating - but offering special laws or treatment because of that? That's just idiotic - but hopping on the PC bandwagon has become a religion all in itself. So automatically I'm branded as a "obstacle to progress." I haven't even figured out what the whole "progressive" bit is about because that whole philosphy is based on returning us all back to some mythical non-pollutant, non-conflict, kumbahyah, new age, period that never existed throughout history of humanity. Then again, that isn't a very political correct thing to say so I better get on board with the "independent thought" montra of - Yea for the Homosexual!

I think Bush should apoint that talking stargate from "City on the Edge of Forever" for Supreme Court Justice, or maybe the molten rock monster. We don't have an aliens on the court yet, after all, and I think Bush knows some aliens, their hearts, I mean.

Yes. It was item five on last weeks gay agenda. Oddly enough item four was nominations for fruit fly of the year. You won.

Mirror Sulu contemplates the length of his dagger.

2005-10-28 01:33:16 AM
Kirk: Man we took quite a hit from that Klingon battle cruiser. Damage report Mr Sulu.

Sulu: Sir the Enterprise is flaming.

Spock: That is highly illogical, the Enterprise's shields kept their disruptors from touching us.

Sulu: Not from where i'm sitting. I think we got molested from those disruptors. In fact, I wouldn't mind having my shields disrupted by those big, buff Klingons.

Kirk: Sulu, you really need to start pointing this ship towards the enemy.

Sulu: I wouldn't mind pointing something at them.

Kirk: Oh brother.
