Is it just me or did the headline just flip-flop?

BunkoSquad

He was delicious!

For someone you're implying didn't have anything to do with it, he seems awfully scared and wanting to get something off his chest.

This is an example of what leads to all the media speculation & conjecture. Okay for Fark, not okay for journalists.

They'll say it's his heart, but really they don't want to have an impeachment because the irony would be so sickeningly sweet that we wouldn't be prepared for the bird flu pandemic.

2005-10-18 03:28:07 PM
I'm betting he'll get a Medal of Freedom on the way out of town.

and a pardon excusing his crimes past, present, and future.

darknemus: For once, I can actually say I submitted this with a better headline :-P. Seriously, though, this is fun to watch. Indictments tomorrow, more than likely, right?

Hannah's turned on the VP's office for the Grand Jury - cool.

Rove has cancelled fundraiser appearances - cool.

DeLay is about to do the virtual perp walk - cool.

Frist will probably be charged with insider trading sometime in the next few weeks. - cool.

Its like I'm a kid on Christmas, and its only Mid-October. Remember, righties, you reap what you sew.

Hope that all works out for ya!

monstera 2 of them have, actually. John Calhoun, and Spiro Agnew.

I'd like to point out here that any chicanery undertaken by any member of the Bush Administration is small potatoes next to the fact that Bill Clinton got a blow job.

gimpel:
C'mon you guys. It is a Fark cliche. Get with the program! (I personally don't find her attractive.)

Sorry, I totally missed that.
Hasn't the filter been changed to "nubian" or something, though?

2005-10-18 03:29:15 PM
He has to retire so he can take his new job at Haliburton and cash in his billions in stock options.

2005-10-18 03:29:15 PM
gimpel It's not a cliche, it's the fark filter for a certain rude word starting with an "n"

You're right. In my mind I was thinking sow, too. Oh well, got alot going on here at the moment so I'm easily distracted.

I still 'so' love all of this, though - so ha ha, or something :-P

I refuse to listen to these nattering nabobs of negativism casting aspersions upon the Veep. They are a pack of effete snobs.

Wonder how quickly he would start 'consulting' for Halliburton if he were to leave office, probably a lot less than the required year....

Impossible! She has no ties to

I always figured Cheney would resign for "health" reasons in 06 and they'd get someone who was electable to be VP. Dr. Rice is not electable, however.

2005-10-18 03:31:17 PM
From my point of view, that would be a very good move. I have a good deal of respect for Condi (even though I disagree with her views), and I think it would rejuvenate and at least mix some things up in this presidency.

/Condi speaks Russian, that's enough for props in my book

2005-10-18 03:31:25 PM
I am glad Colin Powell got out when he did. Too bad he lost a lot of integrity before he left though.

2005-10-18 03:31:56 PM
Dick Cheney is an honorable man, and only second to George W. Bush in his visionary prowess. Why should Cheney resign right now when America, nay, the WORLD needs him the MOST?!?!?!

2005-10-18 03:32:00 PM
And NO, I did not use THE mother of all forbidden words. I may be crass and insensitive, but I am not THAT insensitive.

2005-10-18 03:32:40 PM
A Dick becomes a Condi thus evolves a new tranny euphemizm (sp)

2005-10-18 03:32:46 PM
"Isn't she pro-choice?"

This again? Fine.

Not that I'm saying Condi would be qualified or not in other respects, but her stance on that is going to be a deal-breaker.

Both parties need a better so-called "litmus test".

And while I'm on it, we need more than two parties. We're in a power and idealogical deadlock, and no one is being served by it other than lobbyists and powerbrokers.

smackem yackem: Hasn't the filter been changed to "nubian" or something, though?

Nope, "nubian" is just what Farkers use when they want to use the slur from the comfort of their anonymous keyboards.

+2 points for subtle spirofication.

Let's say that Cheny really WILL resign in order to cash in his stocks and/or resume his position at Haliburton.

Wouldn't it be worth it to get him out of the White House?

2005-10-18 03:34:03 PM
Ground floor, historic thread, blah blah blah.

Does anyone think Bush would really pardon him?

2005-10-18 03:34:04 PM
monstera: anyone every heard of a VP resigning?

Spiro Agnew.

Reelected with Nixon in 1972, Agnew was forced to resign on Oct. 10, 1973, after a Justice Dept. investigation uncovered evidence of corruption during his years in Maryland politics; he was said to have continued to accept bribes while Vice President. He pleaded no contest to a charge of federal income tax evasion, was sentenced to three years' probation and fined $10,000, and was disbarred (1974) in Maryland.

runchkin - And then Nixon resigned a year later. Wow. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The past 4 years have been a massive repeat of history.

'worth it' could be a kinda pliable concept w/in this context.

2005-10-18 03:37:42 PM
Condi will never rise above her current position. The racist southern repubs will not stand for it.

VP Spiro did, in fact resign...under threat of Tax Evasion charges...
