Fark fear mongering? I just say so because an actuall bridge on fire gets "News" while a POSSIBLE terrorist threat gets "News Flash". I know a possible terrorist threat is bad, but worse than an actuall disaster? Cmon people.

I work on the 59th Street Bridge.

So I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies.

Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about.

But trust me.... You don't.

I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you dont know what you are talking about.

This is how bad info gets passed around.

If you dont know about the topic....Dont make yourself sound like you do.

yeah, because talking about a bridge if you don't work there violates every major rule of the internets.

Shame on you people.

If you work on that bridge, you may want to lay low and keep quiet.... or at least start looking for a new job.

Maybe. I don't pay attention to the stupid ones, like "your dog wants..." and the ones where people submit a thread for the purpose of making a cliche. And evidently this one has passed me by as well, since I still don't know what the attempted cliche is.

I'm more of a classic cliche person.

Every day I read these threads, and now I usually just skip over the "I work for" cliche then someone gets burned and I laugh and laugh.

I'm more of a classic cliche person.

Weak attempt at redemption, saying that your too good for new cliches, old school rules baby. I'm sure that you and Drew are old pals only laughing about stuff that you and him get. And how classic can you be with a 200k+ fark number. I'm 110k and havent been around long at all.

Yes, the subway stop on Roosevelt Island is on the modern F line. But I don't know why anyone would take the subway there, when the Roosevelt Sky Tram (as featured in the Stallone movie Nighthawks, airing every weekend on Channel 11) is so much cooler and now even accepts MetroCard.

I bet the tram has a really good view of the bridge fire right about now.

Actually, better yet, just don't go to Roosevelt Island at all. It's a creepy planned community full of ugly cement architecture and U.N. representatives' families.

I can just hear Rove, Open the Baltimore Tunnel and cue the fire on the 59th street bridge."

Cleanup needed in aisle 5. I just peed my pants.

Can anyone link to the original "I work for.." thread? I just need to see what started it.

nah, it doesn't make a difference. They're all stupid. I know this because I work for the Council to Destroy the I Work For Cliche.

So I am really getting a desire to kick the @ss out of most of these people who use it.

Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about, but these guys don't.

And trust me.... You don't.

I think you just want to make yourself sound witty, when in reality you dont even know what you are talking about.

This is road rage gets passed around.

If you dont know about the topic....Dont make yourself sound like you are a stupid asshat.

2005-10-18 03:26:16 PM
While I'm not a huge fan of the "I work for" cliche, I do enjoy its bastard stepchild, the "Can anyone link to the original "I work for.." thread?" sub-cliche.

I'm more of a meta-cliche person.

2005-10-18 03:27:18 PM
The bridge is over, the bridge is over, biddy-bye-bye!

/A little BDP to lighten the mood.
//Dang, didn't mean it that way.

In the picture one up from the bottom above, you can see the roof of the really creepy abandoned loony bin on Roosevelt Island.
