In all seriousness, the only place where women have had an historical disadvantage is off the tee. (Although I daresay there are probably some women in the 350-yd-plus club.) Hitting the long ball isn't all there is to the game, IMHO.

So, while I think this might make for some tough par 5's, this could also make for some really interesting competition.

The biggest disadvantage will be off of the tee. This will lead the shorter players to have to play a fairway wood, or a long iron to the green.

There is a big difference in having to hit a 4-iron to the green and a 7-iron.

You know, I saw Phil up close at the NEC Championships at Sahalee in Seattle a few years ago and I must confess - the camera really does add a few pounds. He wasn't a thin dude but I'd have been hard-pressed to call him overweight. I also saw him mash a 3-wood about 260 yards off a sidehill lie. Pretty impressive.
