Well I seriously doubt that anyone specifically asked "Are you a convicted sex offender" before filling the prescription. That's not the sort of thing that's usually a part of the conversation between a pharmacist and a patient.

Sex offenders often commit crimes because that is the only way for them to get it up. Lets take away a legal way for them to get aroused and see what happens.

/Actually, I have no idea what I am talking about

2005-10-06 09:31:27 AM
Yes, brilliant idea. Let's protect our children by making our sex offenders sexually frustrated.

2005-10-06 09:35:33 AM
Personally, if I'm going to get buttraped by some huge guy who calls himself Nancy, I wouldn't want him to have trouble getting aroused, because he's going to want foreplay, and I'm just not into that.

Fark always puts things into perspective for me.

Great idea, make sure they don't have any normal, healthy sexual outlets. Let all that sexual energy fester until it manifests itself in some other way.

Wow. An article that has all three:

Waste. Fraud. Abuse.

The California sex offender locater search is down all the time anyway, so I have no idea where these newly-flaccid perverts might be lurking.

I think there should be a foundation that helps out sex offenders by #1 giving them Viagra, and #2 gorilla suits, so we can keep them sexually satisfied, and identify them from the rest of the population.

- As long as this foundation uses private donations from people who care about this subject, and not taxpayer monies, I'm all for this.

/okay, okay, the gorilla suit part was just out of frustration. Maybe Hawaiian shirts. No, can't do that. There must be a way of identifying sexually aroused convicted sex offenders in public ... now what can that be ...

For real sexual offenders ( rape, molestation etc ) a nice brand on the forehead should do the trick. For "I took a piss in public" sexual offenders how about a nice scarlet S?

2005-10-06 01:21:39 PM
Well can they at least cover propecia. They always seem to be balding, and I hate them giving non-sex offending bald people a bad name.

It's no wonder ex-cons are so cocky.

They didn't go out of their way to give boner pills to perverts they just didn't think to exclude them until now.

isn't that the sex offender "can" get it up already?
unless... he uses his fingers... or toes....

One thing I never understand is while we spent so much effort on finding drugs to increase sex drive, why hasn't anyone found something that will DECREASE sex drive?

2005-10-06 01:31:48 PM
the "erections for all" platform of governor schwartzenneger set him apart from his 400 competitors during the special election. for once california dared to dream that boner medicine would no longer be a perk for the stiff groined upper class. the cornerstone of california achievement, chemical and surgical modification of the genitals, had begun to inspire even the lowest of classes. i'm glad they closed this pervert loophole early, as i would hate to be in line at cedar sinai patiently waiting for my state sponsored botox injection only to realize that my fellow line-dwellers were assraping perverts.

viva california!

Just finished RTFA.

From another bill mentioned in the article.

"Will Permit children to testify in sexual assault cases via closed circuit television, allowing them to face the assailants but from outside the courtroom."

This sounds like a great idea in theory (it can be very traumatizing for the victim to be put into the room with the attacker) but isn't it unconstitutional?

Article [VI.]
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence

Off topic, but CAN SOMEONE FIX THE SCRIPT ERRORS ON THE MAIN PAGE?

All these javascript errors popping up are driving me banannas and I can't disable them because I do web development.

DNRTFA and I have one thing to ask: When are taxpayers going to start paying for the pill? Men who can't get their dicks up are having others pay, yet I've got to give my co-pay for my pills every month. This always pisses me off.

Another thing, since I DNRTFA, are co-pays involved in Viagra like I have co-pays for my pills, or is it completely free for those with "the penis problem"?

My anger will decrease with the knowledge that anyone on Viagra has to at least co-pay something.

Why is the state of California paying for Viagra? Will they also shell out so frigid women can help themselves get in the mood with Magic Bunnies, Pocket Rocket and rubber dongs?

2005-10-06 01:45:11 PM
They will just go get it from Mexico. It's cheaper there anyway.

Wow, in the first couple of posts it actually appears that people are defending giving tax payer subsidized sexual stimulants to convicted sex offenders.
Are you actually afraid that denying convicted rapists free Viagra will send them into a rape frenzy?!?

Are you farking kidding me?
I'm thinking a 3 hour boner is more likely to give a sexual sociopath some motivation to commit heinous acts but maybe I just read the wrong pop psychology journals.

That's not entirely accurate. Viagra wasn't originally supposed to be an ED cure. It was discovered in the drug study that males were getting erections. (I can't remember what Viagra was originally supposed to be used for.) And IIRC drug companies are working on drugs to decrease the libido.

2005-10-06 01:49:36 PM
violent and repeat sexual offenders should have their sexual organs removed and be patched up to look like a Barbie or Ken doll then made to walk around with no pants then we would see which people are sex offenders

\get out of my dollhouse you hurtin unik

I think the Governators wife Maria might do the trick.

There was a loophole in the law. Now, it's been closed.

What is the problem? Isn't this a good thing?

How many stupid laws does YOUR state have and NOT attempt to fix?

Man, I love it when armchair doctors decide which treatments are appropreate or not. So for any of you assholes who support this ban, would you mind posting the appropreate medical journal articles showing that giving this medicine to sex offenders is a bad thing?

/Not a doctor, doesn't play one on tv
//I'm guessing that if a doctor gives medicine to a patient, they need it.
///But hey, why the hell would we be interested in trying to turn sexual deviants into healthy, safe, productive members of society?

absoluteparanoia: This sounds like a great idea in theory (it can be very traumatizing for the victim to be put into the room with the attacker) but isn't it unconstitutional?

Doubtful. The right to confront your accuser means you get to cross-examine him and let the jury see his demeanor, which would still be possible using CCTV.

2005-10-06 02:00:52 PM
If boner medicine pharmeceutical companies didn't advertise on T.V. so much, the drugs would be so cheap from decreased overhead that the States would not have to pay as much or maybe even at all. Just a suggestion.

I mean, really, enough already with the cialis/levitra/viagra ads with their unnattractive middle age couples, throwing footballs through tires, and "mood" music. I like what Bill Maher said: if you've been having trouble getting it up for your wife, help yourself the old fashioned way: close your eyes and pretend she's the baby sitter (or something like that).

Viagra was originally a heart drug, with erections as a weird side effect.

What about the sex offenders who need Viagra for reasons that aren't erectile dysfunction? What about the sex offenders who were caught pissing in a public park because they couldn't find a bathroom in time? What about sex offenders who boned their 17 year old girlfriend at age 18 or 19, but are now 35 and married to the same girlfriend with two kids?

Angel of Death

Not Rush Limbaugh's doctor.

You got me there.

Though, I was under the impression that he had a bunch of scripts from several doctors, rather than one large one.
