No-one, apparently.

No, I was just mocking the headline in my slightly-hungover haze.

The headline's been corrected from Moss to Bush, which turns the first few posts into nonsense.

Well, they told her, what they wanted, was a sound that could kill someone from a distance....

*wonders why she didn't do an album with Bjork if that was the case though*

Are people actually trying to decode this? There isn't nearly enough resolution on that sound wave to make something audible out of it. It's just a contour.

bboy: /Doesn't know who Kate Bush is

Kate Bush is a British singer songwriter, who was pretty popular in Europe but never really caught on here in the States. She's more famous here for being one of David Gilmour's (Pink Floyd) ex-girlfriends. She had some interesting stuff, but she's one of those artists who people either love or hate. Her vocals can be a little histrionic. But she's also always been highly willing to explore various instrumentations, arrangements, lyric conceits. Like her or not, she's one hell of a lot more of an artist than anything that passes for pop musicians these days.

/thinks the cover art in question is extremely cool

Kate Bush was once considered the female version of art rock legend Peter Gabriel.

Out on the wiley, windy moors
We'd roll and fall in green.
You had a temper like my jealousy:
Too hot, too greedy.
How could you leave me,
When I needed to possess you?
I hated you. I loved you, too.

Bad dreams in the night.
You told me I was going to lose the fight,
Leave behind my wuthering, wuthering
Wuthering Heights.

Heathcliff, it's me-- I'm Cathy.
I've come home. Im so cold!
Let me in-a-your window.

Heathcliff, it's me-- I'm Cathy.
I've come home. Im so cold!
Let me in-a-your window.

Ooh, it gets dark! It gets lonely,
On the other side from you.
I pine a lot. I find a lot
Falls through without you.
I'm coming back, love.
Cruel Heathcliff, my one dream,
My only master.

Too long I roam in the night.
I'm coming back to his side, to put it right.
I'm coming home to wuthering, wuthering,
Wuthering Heights,

Heathcliff, it's me-- I'm Cathy.
I've come home. Im so cold!
Let me in-a-your window.

Heathcliff, it's me-- I'm Cathy.
I've come home. Im so cold!
Let me in-a-your window.

Ooh! Let me have it.
Let me grab your soul away.
Ooh! Let me have it.
Let me grab your soul away.
You know it's me--Cathy!

You're right. However, it might be possible to match that waveform with a segment from the album, which would point to that portion of the music as the special "message". It's even remotely possible that it's completely unrelated to the album. It could be from a Winston Churchill speech, a famous soundbite, maybe a previous K.B. work.

The Kate Bush/Peter Gabriel connection is stronger than that.

The two paired up for the song "Don't Give Up" on Peter Gabriel's huge hit album "So". It was a hit in Europe but not released as a single here.

Kate Bush hasn't released an album in 12 years, which explains why a lot of (younger) people don't know who she is. But if you like arty pop music with interesting studio effects that compliment the music, then FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GO BUY "HOUNDS OF LOVE" IMMEDIATELY! I personally rate this as one of the 10 greatest albums I have ever heard.

I just turned 25, and I was a fan of Kate Bush as a kid !

along with hundreds of other talented musicians and bands like Bowie, Iggy, T-Rex, Judas Priest,Aerosmith, The Cure,Sonic Youth,Robert Plant/zepp,Steve Vai, Robin Trower, The Who, Zappa, Sabbath, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc

the list is extremely extensive and extraordinary for a kid starting from the age of 5, especially since I just caught the tail of Generation X

now me gloating about it may seem egotistical, but it's really me just being proud of caring about good music and having the aesthetic and ear for it at that age------compared to 99% of the retards of the y generation and what they think is good music, art, film, etc

not only do I believe that 75% of births after 1986 are obviously semi-retarded, but adults don't help matters by not turning them on to great artists

vjp: Face it, nobody under 25 is likely to know who Kate Bush is.

They may not know who Kate Bush is, but they should know who Kate Bush is. Especially any hack who calls himself/herself a musician. I, for one, am very glad to see a new album by her after all these years. She's a true original.

Salty Dawg's comment -- "She's one hell of a lot more of an artist than anything that passes for pop musicians these days" -- is right on.

Her album from the late 1970's -- "The Kick Inside" -- is incredible......

I listened to 'Hounds Of Love' recently for the first time in maybe 5 years; when I got to "Hello Earth", which was recorded more than 15 years before Columbia broke up, it gave me the biggest case of the heebie-jeebies ever...

no doubt yo

"Under Ice" is one of the most chilling songs ever recorded and yet it's forgotten by too many people(or has never been heard by too many). I was always partial to "Running up that hill", which was featured in the film The Chocolate War(great film)

oh, and I wanted to blow a load in Kate bush when I was 7 too!

yeah, I said it, and I'd still hit it something fierce today!

I think it says something about Paul McCartney being dead or a walrus or something. Then again, it might be the missing 18 minutes from the Nixon tape.
