helix400: These charges have no basis in the facts or the law. This is just another example of Ronnie Earle misusing his office for partisan vendettas.

That tends to ignore that the prosecutor has gone after as many Democrats as he has Republicans.

I really hate these lying asshats, regardless of whether they suck the elephant cock or the donkey cock.

That Tom Tomorrow cartoon made me laugh. I especially like the way that guy renders the snarling Cheney face. Gives me chuckles every time!

foily the paranoid dog says "it's those atheist activist judges trying to send honest christian republicans to jail"

DukeSucks: So you're saying the killing is OK, using the connections is bad?

Uh, yeah, accidents happen, and as long as you take responsiblity for your actions, others have no real grounds to hold it against you for the rest of your life. Running from the results of your actions like a little girl and using your connections to bury any investigations against you is just wrong.

I'd like to knock Ann Coulter's teeth out, one by one, with a framing hammer.

2005-09-28 01:27:55 PM
OMG. Fresh quote from Ann Coulter:

"There's always a stench around Republicans"

...

"(The Liberals) want us all in guantanimo". (The hypocrisy!!!!)

Ooooh, feel that persecution complex from the party that controls every major branch of the United States Government, aired on their very own dedicated propaganda cable news channel.

2005-09-28 01:27:56 PM
Would love to ask Ann Coulter about the NeoCons accusations about Al Gore and the Chinese versus this DeLay indictment.

And why she's such a douchebag.

2005-09-28 01:27:57 PM
The best part about Dayside on Fox is when the audience gets to ask questions... it's like Jerry Springer for Neocons... I remember when the host called John Kerry a war hero and a riot almost broke out.

2005-09-28 01:27:57 PM
Ann Coulter the she-man is on Faux News now talking about Delay.

CashForChaos

Are YOU Tom Tommorow, or do you just feel the need to paste one of his cartoons in every single thread?

2005-09-28 01:28:16 PM
Now now, surely not everyone in congress is criminally corrupt... I'm sure theres at least a few that aren't mentally competent.

Come ON, Farkers. We've got a catchy name like "Godwin's Law" for "first one to use Hitler loses," we've GOT to figure out a nice name for "b-b-but Clintonnnnn..."

2005-09-28 01:28:41 PM
interestingly Ronnie Earle, the DA, is at least as corrupt as DeLay.

/not saying DeLay is innocent
//but indictments dont mean convictions

2005-09-28 01:28:48 PM
I hope Tom DeLay gets treated like Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy should have been treated.

2005-09-28 01:28:55 PM
McClellan's doing everything in his power to try and steer this back to Katrina and Iraq. (Yes, back. He kicked off the briefing with a diatribe on Katrina.)

Which the press is all too happy to do, seeing as they have just as many questions about Katrina and Iraq as they do on DeLay.

You know, on some level, I feel sorry for McClellan. He has to do this every single day.

2005-09-28 01:29:03 PM
Some dirty laundry will be (hopefully) exposed in a manner that requires more indictments.
Time for the fat cats to pay the piper, even if it is in a country club prison.

2005-09-28 01:29:06 PM
so ... he (possibly, probably) illegally financed a group, which then facilitated him redistricting texas to solidify gop power? (is that right?)

it's a little different to shoplifting or drunk driving, imo

2005-09-28 01:29:12 PM
jonnyh: To jail with him with no delay. Um, er, no, with Delay.

//forget it

Good thing I wasn't drinking when I read that one, jonnyh - you'd owe me a new keyboard. ;)

liquor-box:

check the fark account number... or do you know what that is yet... sounds like you're the n00b dipshiat. i've been here longer than you have.

And you still can't construct a proper strawman?

Here, this might help:

2005-09-28 01:29:26 PM
Indicted:

To accuse of wrongdoing; charge: a book that indicts modern values.

Law. To make a formal accusation or indictment against (a party) by the findings of a jury, especially a grand jury

uighur
interestingly Ronnie Earle, the DA, is at least as corrupt as DeLay.

Wow. Didn't take long for the spin machine to warm up, did it?

2005-09-28 01:29:36 PM

Ain't this somethin'? I told my pap and mam I was coming to Washington to steal and be a Congressman. Acted like they was gut-shot. Says, "son, make your life go here. Here's where the peoples is. That Washington is for animals and savages." I said, "Mother Delay, Capitol Hill is the marrow of the world." And by God I was right.

/Gonna get split from crotch to eyeball with a dull deer antler.

LessO2

Coulter is comparing Clinton to DeLay.

Yea, but who is paying for enough kneepads for the entire state of Texas?

2005-09-28 01:29:40 PM
I came in here to do my neo-con duty of apologizing for the guy, but I slipped on all the splooge on the floor and now I can't type so good.

2005-09-28 01:29:43 PM
Let me be the not-first to say, I blame Bush.

2005-09-28 01:29:47 PM
I find it ironic that they mention the Republican party 15 times in that article but compare that to a couple of major news segments from July 2002 about James Traficant, Jr.; found guilty of 10 ethics violations related to his convtion and 8 year prison sentence for fraud, bribery and tax evasion.

The NBC Nightly News managed a segment lasting two minutes and twenty seconds about him, all without once mentioning that he's a Democrat. MSNBC also failed to mention his party, but they did find time to note his hair and clothing style.

2005-09-28 01:29:48 PM
Let's see what happens in the trial itself. If DeLay actually gets convicted and sentenced then I'll celebrate. But in the meantime, who's to blame for this bunch of scumbags like DeLay and others? If you personally voted against one or more of these corrupt politicians, good for you. But a majority of voters (those who even bothered to vote at all) voted them in. So look what we got. The majority of American voters themselves have a lot to answer for, because they haven't been paying attention. And like the old saying goes, "Could this be you?"

I have Fox News on, I don't have Ann Coulter, just some guy. Is there more than one Fox News feed?

Man, watching Fox News is making me dizzy.

2005-09-28 01:31:10 PM
This farking *%$#@ drew my new district so that our great Congressman's house would be JUST outside of it, so he'd have to move his whole damn house to run in the same area. What a dick.

I've seen this argument used by Fark's Republican Guard at least five times on this thread already.

Your point being that we should never hold politicians accountable for anything? What the fark is wrong with you people?

I think the question is, are these charges grounded in the law, or are they based on partisan bullshiat by a Democrat prosecutor/party hack as Mr. Delay is claiming?

If they are based in the law, and he's guilty, he deserves punishment. If he is found not guilty, and presumably if the charges are groundless he will be found not guilty, then all this *should* go away, as intended to by the people who set up the justice system of the U.S. in the first place.

Democrats, I know you'll probably scream "O.J." at that point, but frankly I could give a rat's ass.

I really am sick of you partisan whackjobs. Liberty, justice, and truth are non-partisan concepts. Try serving them. If you want to be loyal to something...

She's there, to the left of that guy on the screen.

Ann Coulter is an anorexic, skeletorian, repblican whore who would blow Rush Limbaugh for a seat at the next GOP fundraiser where George and Dick were in the same room together.

She has the morals of a pedophile in a daycare center with the lights out.

why oh why do people buy her crap books and listen to her arm chair politico GOP tirades?

He wasn't the House leader. And everyone knew he was a cook from the beginning.

Yeah, but Trafficant wan't exactly House Majority Leader, and architect of a political Coup that altered government on both the State and Federal level, now, was he?

Awwww, even C-SPAN 2 cut away from the briefing. That was fun.

Just Ignorant
I have Fox News on, I don't have Ann Coulter, just some guy. Is there more than one Fox News feed?

No, she's just pinch hitting for the anchor when he isn't capable of reacting to events by manufacturing the spin quickly enough. She's just there to spin the news, basically.

They're pretty blatant about it, when they get desperate.

2005-09-28 01:31:49 PM
I'll cheer this one on when I see Teddy's indictment(s)...
