5 million viewers easily.

2005-09-23 08:59:03 PM
kinda depends on the method...

2005-09-23 08:59:11 PM
I think they would just do that to locate all the real sickos and put them on a watch list.

If it was free? I'd watch. But, by paying you are getting some sick enjoyment out of it. Definately wouldn't pay.

okay... I didn't think of that. If it was serial pedophiles and they were going to be executed creatively... possibly involving clowns with hot pokers, yeah... I'd pay.

2005-09-23 09:01:07 PM
Basically we're talking about subscribing to an episode of Survivor or another reality-based show? Lots.

2005-09-23 09:01:14 PM
I think you can charge over $200 and you'd still rake in the cash!

2005-09-23 09:01:26 PM
Depends on the person.

Osama bin Ladin? I'd pay $1,000 to watch that.

2005-09-23 09:01:46 PM
Okay for $20 there's have to be a hell of an undercard too - otherwise it's like 30 seconds

2005-09-23 09:02:14 PM
I'm surprised they haven't done this yet

2005-09-23 09:02:29 PM
there's=there'd

2005-09-23 09:02:46 PM
Definitely depends on the person to be executed. For instance, I might pay $20.00 to see them strap Ben Affleck in the chair, knowing it would definitely be the last time I'd be throwing money away on him.

2005-09-23 09:02:46 PM
A sickeningly large amount.

2005-09-23 09:02:51 PM
tonkin: otherwise it's like 30 seconds

Electrocution with a pack of Duracell batteries. Fun for the whole family.

2005-09-23 09:03:39 PM
It would only work once. Executions as performed by prisons are incredibly tedious.

2005-09-23 09:05:33 PM
submitter: How much hell do you think a PayPerView of a public execution at say $20 per would raise at the FCC?

There, that's better.

2005-09-23 09:06:08 PM
Lots of people are sadists, but I don't think it would go that well. Maybe the first one, but I don't think many would tune in after that.

I mean, how successful is the Faces of Death series?

2005-09-23 09:06:42 PM
This About That: It would only work once. Executions as performed by prisons are incredibly tedious.

Well there are things you could do to mkae it more interesting.

Take the Osama example... you could execute him by dropping him into Yankee Stadium during the 7th inning stretch. That would be fun to watch.

Action Replay Nick: I mean, how successful is the Faces of Death series?

Well, it's stayed on the shelves all these years.

2005-09-23 09:08:25 PM
I guess it would raise quite a shiat...

2005-09-23 09:08:31 PM
Depends one who Ol' Sparky is hosting.

All the Red Sox fans would watch in hopes that he had a bomb.

2005-09-23 09:09:42 PM
no-one will watch some guy fall asleep, but an electrocution in an old chair might be good, like watching nascar except your not waiting for a crash

2005-09-23 09:10:54 PM
All the flaccid penises on conservatives?

2005-09-23 09:12:02 PM
Didn't the Romans and many other cultures do this same thing? I guess history is doomed to repeat itself.

/likes Henry Rollin's take on public execution on his cd "Think Tank."(track Worldpeace)

2005-09-23 09:13:03 PM
I'll just wait 5 minutes for it to show up on the internet.

2005-09-23 09:14:45 PM
well...You'd need a few celebrity witnesses. The referee from Celebrity Deathmatch for instance. Let's get it on.

And you'd need a well-produced re-enactment of the crime that got 'em there. Think of the last few scenes from Dead Man Walking. Something punishment-fits-the-crime like.

Then there's the method. Who would want to blow his hard-earned dough watching some yahoo streatched out on a gurney? Now, the chair, the gas chamber, firing squad, that's worth plunking down a few bucks.

:( You're right
Good to see you paws of the fuzzy

Mr. Fuzzypaws: I'll just wait 5 minutes for it to show up on the internet.

The gentleman has a point.

2005-09-23 09:17:45 PM
Good idea submitter. While we're at it, why don't we hold thee executions at a stadium and change $50 for admittence to the live show. Just like other civilized cultures.

2005-09-23 09:19:25 PM
How many more executions do you think you would see if watching what the People have wrought was MANDATORY? My ancestor was burnt at the stake for heresy. According to the Book of Martyrs, his wife watched, with her 12 children and "one at the breast." We were, and remain, barbarians. How clear we make it.

When this happens is when I move to a peaceful nation. Like Germany.

That made my week. Thank you.

I don't know about pay per view but please don't mention this shiat around fox network, they don't need any more bad ideas!

Sounds like GREAT reality show!!!

2005-09-23 10:04:56 PM
How much would we have to pay Stephen King to actually produce The Running Man?

/book, not crappy movie

tonkin: Okay for $20 there's have to be a hell of an undercard too - otherwise it's like 30 seconds

Public Execution, also featuring Percy and the Dry Sponges.

/going to Hell
//roll on 2

I'd pay a nickel to see submitter killed by repeated blows to the head with a Wiffle bat.

That's what I'm talking about. All this reality TV needs to stop beating around the bush and get to the Running Man. Broadcast it on the net from a bribable non-extradition country and you'll be able to buy and sell Rupert Murdock and Ted Turner within a month.

2005-09-24 12:19:01 AM
I got 50 bucks to see Tom Green go.

2005-09-24 12:20:38 AM
It'd probably lose money, with all the lawsuits filed against it....

2005-09-24 12:21:36 AM
vote for me!

2005-09-24 12:21:37 AM
About as much as I paid for submitter's mom.

2005-09-24 12:21:47 AM
Yet another brick in the wall of the decline of the American Empire...

I'm waiting for the emper.. .i mean president to ride around in a Hummer during the Superbowl and toss bread into the crowd at half-time.

2005-09-24 12:23:08 AM
I would NEVER pay to see someone executed.

thats what Bit Torrent is for...

2005-09-24 12:23:22 AM
what kind of execution? injection, BORING.

i'd pay for the fryer baby!!

texas prison motto, you fill 'em, we grill 'em!

2005-09-24 12:23:36 AM
What's wrong with all of you?

Wait for the torrent :)
