I've got a great idea to bring down the Communist Chinese government and bring the world peace and internet access to all.

Step #1. Smuggle high speed internet access to all parts of China ( maybe a wireless broadband signal from Taiwan and/or Tibet, South Korea, Japan . )

Step #2. Give out free Total Fark accounts to everyone for their first month. ( I'd have to take out a loan ... I might be able to swing it. )

Step #3. Profit. ( once you go TF, you never go back. ) Only the communists will choose not to fark, and be left out of all the fun. The next step? Revolution!

Sounds more like justifying the heavy handed measures.

"Did you see the movie?"

"Now you know why you're about to live a life of hard labour you filthy individualist!"

Stalin, Fark's third place god next to Che and Castro, would be doing the same thing China is doing if still alive. The only reason why China hasn't collasped (aside from the hive mind mentality of the Chinese) is the free trade zones they have. You know, the capitalist zones.

Chinese authorities have helped produce a movie that will educate its youth on the dangers of excessive Internet use, state media reported.

It's basically a montage of screenshots from Fark and video footage secretly taped at some wild Fark parties.

Everybody watch, China is on the rise. Many reports have been stating that propoganda isnt even needed to tell the citizens that the United States is a bad bad place. I sense a second Cold War or something of the sort.

"Internet Teenagers" just doesn't have the same ring to it that something like "Blood on the Monitor" would.

BobtheFascist: Once the WalMart overthrows Communism they won't have to worry anymore.

Yeah! I saw a documentary about Wal-Mart the other day, and they spent some time showing the new Wal-Marts in China. It was almost surreal.

Nope.

But freedom for the Chinese is only good as long as it falls within a certain budget. And it's a long, LONG time before a high-speed comms satellite would fit in that budget.

Not to mention that the Chinese goverment would simply shoot it out of orbit.

My understanding is that both Google and Cisco have made special products for the Chinese government to help enforce their screwed-up ideology. I believe I read that Google filters web searches coming from China, and Cisco has designed special versions of their products which block access to sites the Chinese government feels are "dangerous". They also report back to some ridiculous number (10,000?) of human censors employed by the government to keep an eye on the population. Ditto for instant messaging and cell phones. Say (or type) the wrong thing, and they'll literally come and take you away. Based on this (and many other evils inflicted on the Chinese people by their government), I do everything I can to avoid buying Chinese products. Try it sometime; it's a lot harder than you might think.

P.S. - FARK the Chinese government. And while we're at it, FARK WalMart, which is almost as bad.

I honestly can say that China is the #1 country on my poopoo list.

I _hate_ China.
I _hate_ Communists.
I _hate_ Cheap Chinese Crap.

IF we ever go to war with China, I will join the USMC.
The Iraqi's don't need "FREEDOM" or "DEMOCRACY" near as bad as these Chinese biatches are itching for it.

Hate is a strong word.. Maybe I just strongly disapprove.

Transcript.

Young Li Xing walks into an underground internet cafe with the hope and promise of 'good times' and 'safe fun'. He leaves 18 hours later disheveled and smelling slightly of chocolate. He had a good time. He thinks, "Hey, this internet thing isn't so bad." He starts going and 'logging on' 2-3 times a week. His friends and family warn him that this can lead to dangerous activites. He brushes them off and says "I can stop any time I want." But this is only the start. His visits are becoming more frequent and he lets his schoolwork slip. His friends notice that his resemblance to the fat Buddha statues are becoming more apparent. He starts losing grip with reality, and can't form full sentences. Eventually, he becomes a huddled mass on the ground curled up in the fetal position, saying nonsensical things like "slashy, slashy, why didn't it get greenlit? Those damn mods."

/not really
//but it probably is something like that

You make George Bush sound like a foreign-policy strategic genius.

China: stable government (albeit communist, but yes, it can exist), beneficial and working relationship with the US.

Iraq: unstable government, bad relationship with the US.

I personally don't think the latter was justified either, but invading China would be military, economic, and diplomatic suicide.

I was hoping they'd tell me how to say "spotty, greasy anorak" in Chinese. Better yet, how to write it.

Then I could offer it to gullible people as tattoos.

Wal-Mart only strengthens the Communist Government by giving them billions a year. Once that system goes, and democracy rises (doubt it will ever happen in China), the sweatshops close and Wal-Mart is in big trouble. Slavery is the only way Wal-Mart took control of the retail business.
