LOL Gemguy. Well, winding a manual wind is like a morning coffee. You sound like a fellow timezoner.

If not, check out timezone.com for more on this madness.

So... rather than pick up her phone, call Rolex, and ask if removing the label would compromise the warranty/ etc., she spends a lot more time and money suing Rolex.

Makes perfect sense to me.

>>Me, I like the mechanics of a watch.<<

Agreed. My first Swiss watch was/is a very basic Tag I bought out of school. Since then, I've been hooked on the design, mechanics and craftsmanship that goes into Swiss watches. I've started haunting pawn shops and estate auctions for Hamilton and early models of Omega and Rolex. It amazes me that some people will leave a classic watch they found in their deceased parent's dresser at a pawn shop for $50-75. It also gives me a chance to learn about watch repair, as I've started doing basic work on the Hamiltons.

It makes you kind of wonder how she got the money for the Rolex in the first place.

Mechanical watches and clocks changed the world, that's what the BFD is.

You could say that about a million inventions. That's not really a great rationale for spending a lot of money on more modern versions of them.

If you like owning something relatively big and heavy and expensive for the sheer pleasure of it, that's fine. As RALEX says, it's not rational. Understandable, but not rational. It's as hard to defend spending that much money on a watch as it is spending incrementally more on a car. If you can afford a $250,000 car, for example, go nuts. Just don't try to explain how it makes sense to buy it to anyone cuz they'll look at you like you have two heads. Paying $1000 for a watch when spending a tenth of that would get you something in the high end of mediocre amounts to the more or less the same thing.

Fake Rolex = Folex

My husband bought me a Rolex while we were on our honeymoon as a wedding gift. BEST damn watch! I will never need to wear/buy another.

You have a Rolex, and you don't have Totalfark? Shame on you!

/$1,000 Rolex = several years of TF
