I don't think Fix Or Repair Daily was a good acronym to begin with. Fix and Repair are basically synonyms. That particular one always bothered me.

Given the Panda has a rip roaring 70hp, I somehow don't think they're gonna inflict these POS mobiles on the US thank god.

I don't know which are worse, French cars or Italian econocars. At least the Italians get the superexotics right, and I guess nobody cares they break a lot cause that's 1/2 the fun of owning a Ferrari...

But French cars? Ugh.

I love how GM backed out because their agreements would have required them to potentially take over a more or less useless auto maker. Now if only they could stop making SUVs and MAKE A DECENT SEDAN!!!!! >:(

Didn't we see a post a few days ago about Fiat and Chrysler, and a few days before that a post about GM and Fiat.

I'm going to guess it'll be Toyota next, then Honda.

If you think Ford trucks and SUVs are "junk" then you must be getting sabotaged. They're about the best in the world for the money -- for the last decade or so -- and everybody knows it.

Actually the tin foil hat parade goes even deeper.

Ford establishes Cosworth Engineering
Fiat buys controling interest in Ferrari
Ford buys Jaguar
Redbull buys Jaguar F1 (Cosworth engines)
Redbull racing to run Ferrari engines in 06
Redbull racing buys Minardi (Cosworth engines in 05)

Rubino gets dizzy, leaves Ferrari for BAR Honda.

I have actually owned a Fiat, and I have actually owned a Ford, and I think think this is a the dumbest idea since dioxin got mixed with ricin.

I have noticed a pattern in companies on their way to a crash and burn. For some reason they consume each other on their way down. It is as pointless as expecting Quasimoda and Andrea Dworkin to have charming and beautiful children.

2005-09-11 10:43:49 PM

Do they actually make Fiat cars WITH a trunk? Who the hell designs their cars? These are so damn ugly. Wow.

I owned one of these, in black tho:

1974 I think. It was the year that they put the sports DOHC engine in because they couldn't meet the smog rules with the overhead valve version. It had a couple of weird features, like dual sets of ignition points and a primitive speed control that simply locked the throttle at a particular setting, and that worked well on perfectly flat, straight, empty highways when the wind was steady.

I liked it. It had decent performance and got damn good mileage, until it rusted to pieces.
