He didn't mean shot like with a gun... He meant like out of a cannon or something. You know, like at the circus. Shot could mean so many things...

"No no, you misunderstood me. I meant he should get shots, you know, like tetanus and flu vaccines....there are lots of ways to 'get shot'."

Wow, if the secret service investigated everytime someone said that on an internet message board they'd be awefully busy.

/no, I'm not gonna say it.

...

His posting called for shooting "every cop, national guard and politician who stands in your way, including George W. Bush if need be."'

Oh, that's good.

That Kentucky student sure could use a good cockpunching. I hope the secret service gave it to him.

yeah, hopefully the "investigation" consisted of the secret service knocking on his door. When he opened it, they punched him in the cock and ran. That's possible, right?

Twenty-one-year-old Phillip Bailey is being investigated for suggesting President Bush be shot.

Bailey is chairman of the University of Louisville Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee.

I'm amazed he didn't die of irony poisoning....

When I am president, that will be the Secret Service's job. But, it will just be random people. I expect everyone to want to shoot me... I wonder if that is because all of my random cockpunchings? It's a vicious cycle...

2005-09-08 02:13:12 PM
Pre-emptive cock punchings. It's the only way.

Weaver95: I'm amazed he didn't die of irony poisoning....

It's a long term thing. Attacks the liver.

Why do Jesse Helms and Gordon Liddy come to mind?

Stupid thing to do...

Remember that guy a few months ago who talked about doing something like it in his blog?

Now he has a file, they have his name at airports, and now he can't get a security clearance?

Quick way to limit your future job options IMHO.

His posting called for shooting "every cop, national guard and politician who stands in your way, including George W. Bush if need be."

Yah but... No... See he meant video tape... You know, for posterity. Someone needs to record the heroic efforts!

Why do grammar and context hate america?

Its much better to limit your future job options through your raging alcoholism like I do!

I think in Kentucky shooting is non-violent... Didn't you see Deliverance?

And out of the cockpit

2005-09-08 03:31:23 PM
How silly!
Man, how many times a day on fark is that topic brought up?
They'd be way too busy, couldn't get anything else done.
They just need to wait until the dumbass actually tries to buy a gun, then go kick his door in and drag his ass off...

2005-09-08 04:25:34 PM
He messed with Texas.

Everyone knows if you make threats to kill the pres, or even jokes about it, the SS will come for you. We learned this one in like, kindergarten.

2005-09-08 04:43:09 PM
What exactly is strange? What's strange is that the submitter doesn't seem to understand what the secret service is supposed to do. This is SOP and it should be.

2005-09-08 05:58:36 PM
is it ok to say Bush should be shiat?

Yeah, especially after Billy Thomas kept saying it over and over on the playground, and then the next day as we were all getting off the bus two men with black sunglasses and suits stopped him and walked him up to the principal's office. We never saw him again.

True Story.

Uhuh.

2005-09-08 06:11:51 PM
The kid was stupid for posting that. Does anybody else think that President Bush is still hittin' the bottle?

2005-09-08 06:11:54 PM
Gee, judging from the US Millitary's inability to respond to Huricane Katrina, with the bulk of it's troops overseas, looks like a great opportunity for the coming Second American Revolution...

2005-09-08 07:24:49 PM
Strange? Um, that's what the Secret Service does. Probably every day.

He must've been sick that day. And the day "non-violent" was taught in vocabulary.

2005-09-08 09:01:07 PM
idiot. You never ever do that. This is something most folks know. Not even joking. Its just not funny.

You CAN however hope that he gets cock punched for the person he put in charge of FEMA. Now THAT would make me laugh. Especially if done by some 80 yr old lady, or a 8 yr old kid.

Actually, I, and I'm pretty sure everyone else has, have seen clips that pretty much confirm it.

That being said.
How stupid is this kid?
People have been arrested for just writing stuff like that on their notebooks.

ANY correspondence you have with the white house, even if it was fan mail to JFK, is kept on file forever.
They take that sort of thing VERY seriously.

2005-09-08 10:59:12 PM
Phillip Bailey? He's like 50 something. And what's he doing in college? Doesn't he have another duet to sing with Phil Collins?

2005-09-08 11:00:01 PM
Am I the only one whos sees over-reaction?
The president needs to get the stick out of his ass.

/Eagrly waiting for the secret service

2005-09-08 11:00:04 PM
Sure, the kid's stupid, but 5 years in prison for that?

2005-09-08 11:00:38 PM
What a moron. The SS doesn't fark around with that shiat. In fact, submitter shouldn't even have typed those four words in a row. I shouldn't even have them on my monitor.

/looks over shoulder

Fortunately the student was able to hole up in his house with his 72-hour survival kit, until the Secret Service got tired and went away.

2005-09-08 11:03:22 PM
Truth hurts don't it.

2005-09-08 11:04:20 PM
Ahh, the left. So peaceful and tolerant of opposing viewpoints.

2005-09-08 11:04:44 PM
5 years sounds like a really long time. Even if he did really outright threaten him, it seems like a lot.

2005-09-08 11:05:28 PM
better post this for good measure.

that will keep the SS away.

2005-09-08 11:05:35 PM
The kid's dumb as hell. If anything happened to Dear Leader, Cheney'd be in charge.
Oh, wait...

2005-09-08 11:05:54 PM
This has always been the case. You cannot even suggest harm to the sitting President. It IS a crime. That is one form of expression which is simply not allowed at all.

If you threaten the President in a song, in a letter to the editor, or even in a rant on a website, you WILL get a scary-ass knock on your door.

There was a debater from UMKC (Univ. of Missouri-Kansas City) who made a rap tape in the early 90's wherein he suggested harm to Bush the first, and they by-God came pounding on his door. He wasn't charged, but he was investigated.

It ain't funny to them at ALL.

2005-09-08 11:06:00 PM
Um, that's their job. I know another thing not to do. Don't tell another photographer that you're going to shoot the president during his speech. Goodbye security clearance. Actually, I knew a guy who couldn't even get security clearance because he was once a registered Socialist.

2005-09-08 11:06:07 PM
Duh! And they are reading this thread now. And that's just what we want them to do, their job. They are just asking questions, not draggin people downtime, not throwing people in jail, just questions. Every threat has to be investigated.

If the unthinkable happend (love him or hate him, anything bad happening to a president farks with the economy and life in this US as we know it), people would be here biatching that the Secret Service didn't do it's job.

Oh and welcome the Secret Service to this thread. Post something guys. What's it like? Do you have to work out to be able to keep up with the limo?

2005-09-08 11:07:08 PM
Because people who plan on committing assassinations will always announce it publicly first.

/to avoid suspicion
