Bad. Government trying to take away our rights. This is how it starts. Then no rights for anyone, it's farking China. Be wary.

But I'm mad now!

2002-04-23 11:59:58 AM
If we outlaw gunshows, only outlaws will have gunshows.

2002-04-23 12:00:12 PM
I wish we could annex California and give it back to Mexico.

Sorry I see we already did.

2002-04-23 12:00:12 PM

I like guns, but if some poeple don't they should be able to keep drunk rednecks from discharging them in their backyards.

Oh well, at least you can still show off your vulcan minigun to all your buddies here in Texas at one of our state-of-the-art convention centers (read: barns). Oh yeah, and give away .38 specials to folks for just coming to your booth (just common courtesy).

2002-04-23 12:02:32 PM
Does this mean that they will still keep child pornography legal ? Stupid Farkers !

2002-04-23 12:02:34 PM
Holy shiat man, is it the apocolypse???

Is Jesus coming back?

2002-04-23 12:02:38 PM
Can you not read???
It said LOCAL bans.
Which means if you don't like a ban you can go whine about it and probably get it lifted.

I don't know if there's anything I could say in this thread that wouldn't anger someone.

*HERO*

"President Bush signs into law a bill allowing the quartering of soldiers into homes without the consent of homeowners. This law effectively nulls the 3rd amendment"

2002-04-23 12:04:53 PM
Me like guns, me no like California

2002-04-23 12:05:28 PM
Hero? This is the same state that banned assault rifles and you can see how much good it's done.

2002-04-23 12:05:39 PM
what's a gun show?

2002-04-23 12:06:14 PM
Hey Jokestress, were you making a Simpsons reference?

Gun Store Guy:"...And this one's for shooting down police helicopters."

Homer: "Oh, I don't need anything like that.......yet"

"Hero"? I think the owners of this site need to spend a little more time studying history and a little less time staring at boobies, photoshopping, and drinking beer.

Go study Hitler's rise to power... the gun control tactics of today are right out of Hitler's Play Book.

RileyGirl85:

"Government trying to take away our rights."

Bullshiat. This is the government granting rights. The people have a right to ban gun shows in their neighborhoods, but apparently you want to take away that freedom, you commie bastard.

2002-04-23 12:07:39 PM
Try to stop thinking about this being a "gun issue" for a moment.

Would you want to live somewhere and have no say in what kind of events happen in your facilities? This is about allowing local areas to have control over their own fairgrounds/barns/convention centers. As opposed to some state law stripping the locals of any say in the matter.

2002-04-23 12:07:49 PM
This is craptacular, although I think it is constitutional. Dammit.

2002-04-23 12:08:19 PM
"the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"

everybody got that?

Bf+
2002-04-23 12:08:39 PM
There should be more banning of stuff.
Troll away.

2002-04-23 12:08:47 PM
Me like guns, too, me own two guns, me no go to gun shows, too many stupid rednecks. Me could give tin shiat about what they do locally in California.

2002-04-23 12:09:00 PM
is a more appropriate tag for this post.

2002-04-23 12:09:40 PM
Numberz: Thank you for having sense.

2002-04-23 12:10:07 PM
I swear, fark is turning into a place to post a lot of flamebait crap...

2002-04-23 12:10:10 PM
Yeah! Ban those gun shows! Too many lives have been lost while people were looking at firearms!

2002-04-23 12:10:14 PM
I'd add my two cents about whoever tagged this "HERO" is nothing more than the misshapen abortion of a syphilitic whore, but I see that has already basically been pointed out by everyone else here.

Why don't you just delete this entire thread and we can pretend it never happened. Hero my ass.

2002-04-23 12:10:54 PM
Why do pro-gun advocate always forget to cite the amendment in its entirety?:

"A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

Do not forget: there is WELL-REGULATED in the text.

Beanieweenie Doesn't the Constitution outweigh any laws? In order to nullify the 3rd amendment, you would have to add another amendment. A law can be deemed unconstituional, and therefore useless.

Look up "local", then shut the fark up.

Nx99: Apparently, you don't understand the issue. Get with the program, this isn't about gun control, it's about the freedom to participate in the governing of one's local area.

2002-04-23 12:12:02 PM
Where's the ACLU? Oh wait, they believe in all rights guaranteed in the constitution except that of the right to own firearm.

I would urge all those who thinks guns are evil (and people that own them are stupid) to take a local gun safety course to see how responsible gun owners act. You can't just take the Hollywood/Media side of the story.

You liberals just drive me farking nuts!!!

Snooker: Mod's attempt at flamewar traffic generation getting way too [obvious]. How [sad].

Again, the mods do not pick the topics or write the headlines. The admins choose topics from a submission pool, and when they do change the tag, headline, or anything, the submitter always biatches about it. Some schmuck thinks that these people are heros and submitted it. The admins maybe felt it was convieniant that this version was flamey, but they didn't cook it up.

2002-04-23 12:12:37 PM
california will be much safer now

2002-04-23 12:12:43 PM
conservatives are always screaming for local control, well, here you have it.

by the way RileyGirl85, there is very little to the common argument you put forth (i like to call it the "snowball effect" argument). i.e.: this change will lead to an avalanche of sweeping changes. This is rarely, if ever, the case when there are changes to laws in the U.S.. For example, even though we have Roe v. Wade, it didn't lead to sweeping changes to reproductive law in the U.S. - and it surely didn't lead to rampant abortions. In fact, you won't find a safe, legal facility that provides abortion services in 85% of U.S. counties today. The "snowball effect" argument is usually used as a "fall back" argument when there is nothing intellegent to argue.

Biggest misuse of Hero tag ever?

2002-04-23 12:14:40 PM
Looks more like a victory for the supremacy of local zoning rules over state government madates, than a battle won/lost in the gun freedom/control war.

Next logical step: can local municipalities outlaw HUD public housing projects?

It is a consiitional right to bear firearms. It's the 2nd amendment. By bearing arm we are able to protect ourselves if the government comes down hard. Responiblity is the key to ownership. Even if you outlaw guns people are still going to have them. It isn't going to stop crime.

Oh, great logic there, numbnuts.

"Try to stop thinking about this being a race issue for a moment. Would you want to live somewhere and not be able to stop negros from having assemblies in your facilities?"

2002-04-23 12:15:28 PM
So, you can't buy guns at gun shows, but you can still buy them at gun stores?

Oh wow. Dude. That's so *unfair*. Waaah. Where's my bottle?
