ch4r7ie:

question though, my double exposures involve taking a roll of shots of a subject, then re-shooting that roll on another subject, is there a similar method for digital folks?

Yes, put each image on it's on photoshop layer and then blend. Then there is many options to what type of blending you can do and maybe do some masking as well.

Interesting fact about the stairwell picture (photo #1): this is located in Boston and is above the bar that "Cheers" was based on. This is the stairwell that leads to Melville's upstairs. Employees and apparently some customers have reported that this stairwell is haunted. Apparently some years ago, a woman tied a bedsheet to one of the upper railings, tied the other end around her neck, and jumped.

Well, for the most part, not without using photoshop. If you have a really fancy medium format camera with a $15,000 digital back, then you can do double exposures. AFAIK, none of the current digital SLRs can do it.

Another great contest. Good job everybody.

actually i never use the same photos in any contest, like cuddlebutt mentioned before to someone else, i posted them in a farktography q&a column last week, glad you remember them, thanks, seems like this method for double exposures is fairly cheap, albeit kinda random in results, i had a whole role of shots, half with the woman, half with the two guys, of those 24 shots only 2 were passable

Don't be so modest ch4r7ie. Your stuff is much better than passable!

I know they're hellishly late. Just stumbled across the thread and thought I'd contribute anyway. All three of those come from this setup in a corner of my apartment.

I am truely inspired by all the photos here. Great job everyone. I hope that I can achieve your status in the future!

I had another, but seeing as how I was already ridiculusly late, and it was too big, I opted to just post this one. n00b mistake...

chakalakasp: The Nikon D2X can do up to 10 exposures on the same image, but it's a $4000-5000 camera.

It's late, I know, but I felt like it was perfect.

The Farktography contests blow me away every time you guys run one. This stuff is more artistic than the crap you see people pedling as 'true art'

Bravo!

Great work everyone. I'm way late to the party ... and I actually had some photos in mind for his one. No sense in scanning and posting now.

This appeared in the sky over my apartment in San Diego one summer evening.

Ice buildup on the 2.1M Telescope dome at Kitt Peak Nat'l Observatory, circa 1995.

Imagine that it's 110 degrees in the shade. It's so bright outside that you can only see in black and white because you're squinting so hard. Downtown Tucson, circa 1995.
