She's only up for a maximum of 10 years, however.

I have even less sympathy for this stupid bint than I did for Schapelle (and I don't have any for her to start with). It's not like she can claim, after the media circus, that she didn't realise that the Balinese are tough on drugs.

Stupid people annoy me.

Agreed. Even though I've got a big civil liberties streak, I didn't care much for Corby when she was first convicted and having plastered all over the news made me care even less (if that was possible). If this new idiot is found guilty, I'll pretty much say "meh" and go back to normal life.

Stupid people annoy me.

You must have a lot of annoyances ;)

Yipee!! I can't wait!!!!

2005-08-22 08:56:24 AM
She should have just called me up for some ecstasy. I would have given her the good old fashioned kind.

Yeah Im probably full of it but hey I would try my best.
Stay off drugs girls and stay on Nikon.

2005-08-22 08:56:27 AM
Why are we wasting our time with this crap? Isn't there a pretty white girl missing somewhere?

2005-08-22 08:56:45 AM
One ecstacy pill? Yeah, she's definitely trafficking. Give her the chair!!

Maybe they'll share a cell and have hot sweaty lesbian prison sex. Yes.

man,a couple of months for one or two pills probably for personal use, thats a pretty steep punishment (particularly if it ends up being even longer)
its not like she was dealing

- and 15 pills in a series of raids, wow , thats clearly the drugs raid of the year (not)

2005-08-22 09:01:35 AM
Well taking into consideration Midnight Oil's "Land down under" (male drinking/puking) and the recent drug trials (women smuggling/getting busted) Australia is a fine example of all that is right with the youth of today.
Good on ya mate.

2005-08-22 09:02:26 AM
she cant have been much of a model if she cant afford a lawyer.

/so there

2005-08-22 09:02:37 AM
Ms Leslie's parents, Albert and Violet Leslie of Adelaide, told News Limited their daughter did not use drugs.

Also, she still belives in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, and does not yet know what sex is.

c'mon, parents. get a farkin' clue.

I don't understand the 1-2 ecstacy pills thing. I can understand 20-30 or even 10-20, but 1-2? Which one is it?

2005-08-22 09:04:17 AM
Man, what an idiot. DITCH THAT SHIZNIT!!!

2005-08-22 09:04:18 AM

I know it is pretty and all but when will Australians stop going to Bali? I mean first there was the bombing, then there were the ridiculous drug charges with insanely corrupt courts and lengthy prison terms.

Bali needs your tourist Australian dollars. Don't go.

There are other, nicer parts of the world that don't mind your recreational drug habit.

/actually a complete teetotaler

2005-08-22 09:08:14 AM
Its not about 15 pills, its about a bunch of rich white people with the wrong religion westernizing their country who don't understand how to bribe their way out of the situation. Its a wonder why they don't start busting people for drinking except it would dry up their entire circus.

/Still don't know why these idiots keep going to Bali.

She had just popped two and had one left.

2005-08-22 09:09:52 AM
I'd smack it!!!

I tried a few drugs in my lifetime. Almost all of them suck. I don't know how people get hooked on them. However I did try an ecstacy pill once a few years ago. That was trippy. The only drug besides alcohol and MJ I ever liked.

That being said, I won't ever touch the stuff again. It was too trippy.

I'll just continue to stick with beer. It's all I need. A few beers for a decent buzz. Nothing beats it.

2005-08-22 09:09:53 AM
Yup, hit(t)able....

2005-08-22 09:10:02 AM
I'm glad that the police are battling this evil trade by throwing people in jail pointlessly.

2005-08-22 09:11:16 AM
Stupid hot chicks. Yummy, but annoying. From this point on, any dumbass caught in Indonesia with drugs should get no sympathy from anyone. The Indonesians have made it very clear what happens to people who have drugs in their country. Just like the Saudi's have made it very clear what happens to criminals in their country. If you're a foreigner, you're not exempt from their laws.

2005-08-22 09:13:02 AM
Too bad, what a waste.

2005-08-22 09:13:27 AM
OK, the "Pound me in the ass prison" cliche is not applicable here, but I'm sure all you very creative folks can think of one appropriate for an amazingly hot girl being sent to jail.

2005-08-22 09:13:37 AM
hittable? yep.

however, stupid enough to deal with drugs in indonesia. you know what will happen. why even bother? no mercy.

is it that difficult to remember? drugs in asia = not so funny...

on the other hand, if you are too stupid to read the news soemtimes...

2005-08-22 09:14:41 AM
disco biscuits.... yay

jail sentence..... hmmm, bummer

The raid netted 15 tablets? 15? I'm pretty sure that the cost of the raid far exceeded the street value of the drugs recovered.

Fifteen tablets?

What sort of a name is Cauchy_Riemann_equations anyway?

That said (in jest of course) I completely agree with you. There has been a bit of noise made down here by the pro Corby brigade that we should boycott the place, and they all keep getting shot down.

"It's not the balinese people's fault this has happened, don't boycott Bali because they need your money."

Phuck em. Their government should realise this themselves and stop shooting itself in the foot. Now, I'm certainly not telling you these clowns that get caught with drugs shouldn't go unpunished, not by any stretch of the imagination. But a bit of consistency is called for here.

The Indonesian independence celebrations were just held and a part of this included shortening the sentences of some of the Bali bombers. We were told it was because (for one of them) he was being very well behaved in jail and devoting himself to "Religious Studies."

These religious studies which caused him to be involved in the killing of over 200 people. That sends a pretty distinct message to me from their government that I'm not welcome.

Works for me, I'll stay the hell out.

Article about drug bust quotes Foreign Minister Downer? They should also have interviewed Consul General Eightball and Undersecretary Speedy McCrack.

2005-08-22 09:23:27 AM
Zero tolerance is just that. 1 pill or a hundred, doesn't make any difference. It's drug possession all the same. Anyone traveling to Indonesia, or other Asian countries has to know that getting caught with drugs is gonna wreck your whole day, get you busted, and locked up in a cell with only minimal facilities with police that don't particularly feel the need to communicate with you in your native tongue. Indonesia doesn't have the resources to pamper criminals. Their tax monies go to benefit law abiding folks. The visa paperwork for these countries state that drugs are outlawed. Get caught with enough to share and you get Darwin'd.

Right or wrong, I think that's kinda the point. You know Indonesia doesn't have a drug problem if raiding a nightclub only results in fifteen pills being found.

Note to self: if I ever become a young, attractive Australian woman, don't holiday in Bali.

2005-08-22 09:27:42 AM
When in Rome do as the Romans. I don't care what your stance on drugs are. Bali's stance is very tough. She and the other slut knew this going there. They gambled and lost. It's like that stupid kid who got caned several years ago.

The same biatches whining about that "unfair" punishment are the same one's saying the US shouldn't throw its weight around with other countries. Make up your mind.

Do the crime, do the time.

2005-08-22 09:28:02 AM
Yeah definitely not the brightest bulb out there. Bet I could have convinced her it was 12 inches...

2005-08-22 09:30:38 AM
When the police came in to raid, why didn't she just eat the 1-2 pills? She would have been rolling her ass off, but at least she wouldn't have been looking at a jail sentence....

2005-08-22 09:31:18 AM
She will be put under house arrest at my house for 10 years.

/I'm the Real Bali Mayor

2005-08-22 09:32:04 AM
Look, for all those of you complaining that it wasn't much, it's not your country. When you are in a forum country you have to respect their laws. As the article stated there have been several well publicized drug busts/trials recently and she should have known what'll happen if she gets caught. If you don't like the laws of a locale, don't support them by visiting. That simple.

2005-08-22 09:32:52 AM
the new national police chief, General Sutanto

This guy has Bond villain written all over him. With a name like that, I'd have the 00's looking for his secret underground lair.

2005-08-22 09:33:05 AM
Wow, people are still using drugs after all these thousands of years???? WTF???

The answer can only be more laws, more police, and longer jail sentences.

Yeah, that's the ticket!

Creeping Malaise: Is her last name Lee or Leslie? Article says Leslie, pic says Lee.

I heard a news story mention one is a modelling name... not sure which is which, but it explains the discrepancy.

I'll stay the fark away from Indonesia while they continue to let people-killing brown people go free while they lock up pill-popping white people.

It's quite clear to me that the Indonesians hate us. That's there prerogative, just as it is my prerogative to stay away from their nutcase-infested islands and spend my money elsewhere.

2005-08-22 09:34:27 AM
This was in the article and hits the homerun:
"Australians, I would have thought, through the Schapelle Corby case and the Bali nine case, would know that you want to keep drugs right away from places like Indonesia . . . and for that matter, South-East Asia more generally.

"We've got an Australian on death row in Singapore for drug trafficking.

"We've got two Australians and an Australian resident on death row in Vietnam for drug trafficking, we've got the Schapelle Corby case, we've got the Bali nine case."

If you want to do E go to Europe..
