Dear Canada,

We want Alberta. You can keep the rest. Especially Quebec.

Love, the United States

2005-08-21 03:37:02 PM
I have a better idea. How about New England and the Maritimes split from their respective nations and hook up to form a new country? I mean, they're pretty identical as it is. It's all Red Sox territory, too.

2005-08-21 03:37:56 PM
ZAZ - are you kidding? I'll take Montreal strippers over Calgary oil any day.

2005-08-21 03:42:07 PM
This is B.S.
Oh by the way, Alberta does not want to be part of the US. Only the rednecks do (Not the farmers and ranchers, most of them dislike the US).... So can we ship them down to Texas? Oh and also take back all of the Texans who are in Calgary.

THE STRIPPERS STAY!!!

2005-08-21 03:42:11 PM
You can have my country when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

2005-08-21 03:42:14 PM
If the US takes Alberta... then they'll have all the cases of BSE.

What is this Canada you all are speaking of?

/most Americans could give a shiat about Canada or any other country for that matter

I've always been a supporter of a new country consisting of Alaska, The Yukon, B.C., Alberta, Washington and Oregon.

2005-08-21 03:46:39 PM
I don't understand the uproar. Canada is a sovereign nation, and fully within their rights to tell US law enforcement to kiss their ass. Why comply with the US cops, then biatch about it later? Make the US jump through the usual international crime hoops. That'll discourage them in the future.

Dear Canada,

I like you. You are neat. But I don't like you like that. Can we still be friends?

Your pal,
U.S.Eh

Shadow Fairy: I've always been a supporter of a new country consisting of Alaska, The Yukon, B.C., Alberta, Washington and Oregon.

Yeah that would be pretty cool. But we'll have to wait for the upcoming U.S. civil war to break up the states for that to happen.

Canada may not be prepared to denounce drug control treaties at this time.

Fast B:

Watch out, now. I hear the RCMP is wicked sharp with a slingshot. Might get ugly over there.

Not to mention the US feds would never be able to keep with the Canadians on skates.

Fast B: Keep that up, and they'll be invaded in no time.

Wow, you guys really do think you're the World Police, don't you?
What about Wulfhardt's statement was wrong?
Nothing.
They have no jurisdiction here unless we choose to give it to them.
Canada IS a sovereign nation, and we ARE fully within our rights to tell U.S. law enforcement to kiss our collective ass.

Dude, it was a joke. Sarcasm. Tongue-in-cheek.

Relax, man.

Americans would get bored with the lack of gunplay sick of people with manners, feel like girly-men because they wouldn't be able to handle strong Canadian beer and go home.
You still can't have our strippers.

Robo73: /most Americans could give a shiat about Canada or any other country for that matter

That's true. Most Americans DO give a shiat about Canada, or any other country. Well... most EDUCATED Americans, anyway.

//You probably meant couldn't give a shiat ... which would have been a fallacy.

Well, unless the Queen says otherwise.

Wouldn't work. We would laugh at her and carry on as usual.

mtbhucker: feel like girly-men because they wouldn't be able to handle strong Canadian beer

There's plenty of strong American beer, and it ain't any of the big-name brews. Heck, the big-name Canadian brews like Labatt and Molson are hardly worth writing home about.

I think we can handle your strong beer. And some of us even like hockey :)

Relax, man.

As I've said before in threads like these, the political climate between our two countries isn't especially friendly right now.
I have a very healthy sense of humour about pretty much everything, except jokes about my country being invaded.
You're ten times our size - it just ain't funny.

Given your country's recent adventures in empire-building, can you blame me for being more than a little jittery?

2005-08-21 04:55:16 PM
And by usual I mean hockey, beer, timbits and weed. Or we would be to busy with aformentioned to notice anything she said.

2005-08-21 05:00:03 PM
Fast B: Labatt and Molson are hardly worth writing home about.

They're hardly worth drinking. Sleemans and Big Rock are a another story. Mmmmm... Sleemans Honey Brown.

It's not ALL Red Sox territory here in New England. There is a significant number of Yankees fans here in CT. Hell, we're closer geographically to NYC than to Boston.

Although, I would love to see New England break away from the rest of the country. The rest of the country is holding us back from being progressive.

mtbhucker: They're hardly worth drinking. Sleemans and Big Rock are a another story.

Don't forget Keith's!

I don't like this thread topic.
Can we just make it about beer and hockey from here on in?

2005-08-21 05:03:18 PM
i do see sens' point, Fast B.

from ignoring and openly mocking the UN, to ignoring signed treaties like NAFTA and rulings by the WTO, to bending the Geneva Conventions to the point of absurdity to the extra-territorial policing noted in this article it does not, of late, seem like rule of law is something that concerns the Bush administration or factors into their actions.

i don't think Mr. Bush wants to invade Canada, but if he did want to he would say "screw the law" and do whatever he wanted.

i like it.

i just like the grasshopper better. very crisp. not a lot of domestic wheat beers on the market, so it's a bit of a departure from the norm. great summer beer.

I am becoming more and more embarrased to be an American these days. If it is any consolation, Canadians, IMHO the U.S. goverment is out of control. The priorities it has are not mine nor, a lot of other Americans either.

Maine has this on it's ballots this November, becoming a part of the Atlantic Time Zone.
I haven't rta yet, but if we [Maine] get Club Supersex, I am all in.
Actually, no I am not. I am not a fan of shaved girl parts.

I think the Emery case and the tunnel case are simply examples of that," prominent defence lawyer Michael Bolton said Friday.

I think that is the most shocking part of the whole story. Michael Bolton is a defense lawyer.

It would be nice if Canada stood up and told us to fark OFF. I really wish they would, because the US has a reputation for overstepping bounds whenever it feels like it.

Because nobody stops us.

The US Government has gone way overboard with its crap, and constantly farks with its citizens. We can't expect that Foreigners would be treated any better.

Dear U.S

I understand you have problems on the inside. Maybe you should take some Chicken soup.
Could you please take back your Texans from Calgary? Nobody likes them here.

Your Pal, Canada.

P.S. Could you give us Alaska? Thanks.

I can see both sides on this issue. The RCMP wants to catch criminals and they go with US enforcement as it is better suited for catching criminals. However the US claiming jurisdiction over canadian property no matter how small seems over the line.

Over course we in the US have our idiots like Rivetboy who embarrassed me with his stupidity.

2005-08-21 06:40:10 PM
I like B.C. We could call it "Northern California", since the border outline and general spirit are reminiscent of the land we pried from Mexico. That would get rid of the archaic "British" apellation as well. Plus make the US map less broken-up looking.
