Bush says exercise helps sharpen his thinking.

So, he's the second least sharpened knife in the drawer?

2005-08-21 04:30:19 PM
President George W. Bush, an avid mountain biker, got a chance to test his mettle against cycling superstar Lance Armstrong on Saturday.

While I gouge my eyes out with a spork, can some explain what the fark happened to the concept of journalism?

Nobody is pure evil; and even a blind pig will fid an acorn once in a while.

2005-08-21 04:31:06 PM
and, btw, could someone explain the headline?

sal-paradise:

I was set up, guvnor.
Suck It Dolphin provided an excellent feeder-line. In fact, I had no idea who this 'Lance Armstrong' was or that he'd had testicular cancer until I saw Mr. Dolphin's post.
Still, it was a cheap shot. And, surely, unoriginal.

I feel no remorse, however, as I believe that 'professional athletes' are just a smidgen more worthless than a retired crack whore, on benefits, with 13 children, a disgraced children's entertainer who is caught engaging in dodgy sexual practices with a tree, or clowns. And I hate clowns.

Discuss.

/And now I have to go and ask myself serious questions about my fascination with Lance's testicles, despite the fact that all I knew about him was this fact. Oh, and that he rides. But someone had taken that already.

2005-08-21 04:32:37 PM
17 miles in 2 hours is not particularly fast. Compare to yesterday's mountain bike marathon championships, where 109 km (68 miles) where covered in 4 hours. By women.

2005-08-21 04:34:10 PM
Scrap that.
I prefer skinink's response.

How far could Ted Kennedy ride?

Great retort! Did you study debate from Michael Moore?

"Armstrong, a cancer survivor who at one time was given a less than 50-50 chance of beating the disease, sits on the president's panel on cancer research and heads a nonprofit cancer foundation."

/yeah - I'll bet he sits on the panel - slowly, WITH PAIN.

On a side note, doesn't the fact that Bush is so fanatical about exercise sort of dispel the popular myth that he is still drinking and doing cociane? Drug addicts aren't usually interested in keeping in shape.

/leftards heads explode

I take offence at that.
I do try to keep in shape.

I merely did pre-emptive trolling because I knew sooner or later Hyernel would pop in and do his usual thing. I like being proactive.

That wasn't a retort it was just me stating a fact about how irritating you can be. On every thread you never miss an opportunitty to bash liberalism. It get's old.

Well, at least you admit you're a troll, if nothing else. Good day to you, sir.

Liberals need to be bashed.

He should go talk to Cindy instead of riding with Lance.

Lance doesn't have the balls to talk politics with Bush, literally or figuratively.

2005-08-21 05:23:21 PM
Explain the headline? Will all those under 15 leave the thread.

Funniest headline in a while...don't know why, the screwdrivers approved, so it must be funny. Funny!

That, and 640x480 breathes new life into the ads: Personals == scary. "Fright Night" Snorg == Scarier. SbB^HD == teh hotness. woohhoooo!

2005-08-21 05:44:37 PM
Bush may be a worthless president, but good on him for mountain biking. 17 miles with one 10 minute rest ain't bad. MTB is NOT like road biking. And kick ass that he pushes himself to where he eats it now and then...not a poser.

2005-08-21 05:51:49 PM
Of course, they had to mention Cindy Sheehan.

/Where is the "attenion whore" pic when you need it?

I cannot believe the submitter actually wants people to read the constitition. Pretty soon he will ask people to be free thinkers that are responsible for our own actions.

HERETIC!

2005-08-21 05:59:21 PM
constitution. oops.

2005-08-21 06:00:46 PM
that's great that lance armstrong is a phenominal cyclist. that doesn't make him a "hero". that makes him a phenominal cyclist.

also, a lot of people get cancer, fight and survive it. sure his will and effort had a lot to do with it, but it was mostly due to medicine, science, doctors, scientists.. those are the real "hero"s.

buying a lance armstrong yellow wristband probably helps in the fight against cancer, but it also helps in the promotion of lance armstrong, his books, career etc, and not to mention his sponsor.. NIKE. if you really give a shiat about cancer, donate to a charity. if you want to ride the bandwagon and let everyone around you think what a great person you are and be "hip", go buy a stupid yellow wristband..

also, lance armstrong is a farking twit for going biking with GW Bush.. it's clear what his views on politics are. he is someone with a huge profile who could do a lot for "freedom" in this country, yet he chooses to ignore any of the real issues and instead goes on a publicity ride with the president.

also, don't you think GW Bush could be doing something better with his time than constantly vacationing and mountain biking with celebrities? how about working on all the farking problems in this country and then once you have straightened everything out... then go on a farking vacation.. farking idiot. well, i guess we are more idiotic for not protesting ... and more than that for voting this douche bag into office.

2005-08-21 06:02:26 PM
Lance must have been pretty stoked to get to ride with the president! He must have went nut.

2005-08-21 06:02:55 PM
Armstrong, 33, called Bush "one competitive dude"

Now, Dude, that's a name no one would self-apply where I come from.

2005-08-21 06:07:28 PM
pitor: He should go talk to Cindy instead of riding with Lance.

He already did. She was speaking a very different story then. I'm not trying to trash a grieving mother. I cannot imagine how that must feel.

I do know that she has a very left wing agenda. The people that made her Texas campout possible are also the Micheal Moore types. Facts and true political discussion are impossible.

She left because her mother fell ill. She then asked for privacy. I will respect that but only if she does not become an attention whore when that ordeal is over.

Hasn't Lance retired now that he has won all that he can. What else can old sport stars really do than promote things that they think are important.

Presidents on the otherhand should pride themselves with something else than low pulse.

'W' is going to be president until Jan. '09 and there is nothing the cry babies can do about it.

Nothing.

Heh, heh, heh...

How can a self proclaimed liberitarian be happy about this presidency?

2005-08-21 06:18:08 PM
Armstrong and the Secret Service agents and staff members who rode with Bush were presented T-shirts that said "Tour de Crawford" and "Peloton One" -- a reference to the French word for group -- as well as a pair of riding socks with the presidential seal.

In south Texas, peloton is a loose translation for "big ball/balls". Following it with the word "one" just makes it funnier....

This self proclaimed Libertarian knows that Bush was better than the other options.

That'd be cool ...

Dems would complain even if Bush solved all poverty and hunger. It's easier just to ignore the same old rants.

On a side note: Bush would have a good chance of beating other world leaders in a fight one on one. He is in better shape than I am and is almost twice my age. But I am a beer drinking fatass

2005-08-21 06:59:47 PM
Lance remaked that he had "more balls than Adolf von Texan".

/I think he was refering to Bush-boy

Bwahaha I hate dirty hippies but I'll admit, that headline was damn funny.

10 points all around!
