idle_hands: did you use same camera for all those images CaptainJim?
First one was a Sigma sd10 digital, and the next two were with a sigms sa9 film camera. The digital will only go down to 30 seconds exposure and it makes too much noise after about 10 sec.

oh sorry, that didn't come out right, i meant to ask if your camera doesn't have a light assisted focus light in the viewfinder? that's what i rely on, but ch4r7ie already nailed it anyway :o)

Just wanted to say that some of you all have amazing stuff.

CaptainJim looks like you answered your question about sharpness. from idle_hands bridge post: "i'm pretty sure this one was about a 90 sec exposure at f11". your barn was 5 minutes and unless you were using a 50lb tripod and there was no breeze .........

i've tried that use the lens marks thing and ch4r7ie's pacing and you still end up trading f-stop for exposure time. and i do have a fairly heavy tripod and a shutter release.

I didn't know you lived in Wilm, DE. I used to live there just off of Gov. Printz Blvd. I still stop around that area sometimes.

Yeah the first two pics were taken at Rodney Square. I work for DuPont, so I'm in Wilmington all the time (even though I live down in Bear.)

Only one I've got at night with me. I've always avoided nightime shots because digital cameras tend to do better during the day

Okay, so I get one more. This was take recently during a frontal passage. I was attempting to get a shot at a lightning bolt, but alas it was not to be. The sky looks pretty cool though. 15 second exposure from Canon Powershot A75 (as every other pic is taken).

Middle clicky for full, as usual.

Click pops for not much larger 103K version, not original version because it was huge.

Taken from Mozart's on the Lake in Austin, Tx.

All my photos were taken with an Olympus D-550 Zoom. It's a 3.0 megapixel. Not bad for a fairly low res camera (by today's standards).

/loves timers, but wants a camera with a damn remote control.
//misses bulb setting and cable release
