I have got to see a video of this, if one exists.

2005-08-09 11:10:17 PM
It was just on Sportscenter. Poor guy. Got the worst wedgie I've ever seen from two cops and a security guard.

Quick, somebody make an 0wned picture

2005-08-09 11:12:20 PM
That guy wasn't pwned... he was saved. He'd be lunchmeat on the people below if not for the net.

2005-08-09 11:12:53 PM
Heh heh.

Poor schmuck.

Was he drunk or just in shock? He looked drunk off his gourd to me

2005-08-09 11:37:10 PM
So, did he actually fall, accidentally like, or did he jump?

Falling from the upper deck of Yankee Stadium is one of my greatest fears.

Did anyone see that there looks like a hole about 2 feet to his right. That wouldn't have been too good.

2005-08-09 11:37:39 PM
That's awesome. Put this guy on Leno.

2005-08-09 11:37:52 PM
I was just at a strip club with my friend and saw this on the tv... girls had to work extra hard for that four minutes while all the johns were watching this doofus...

Kid looks like a friend of mine whoes a big Yankee fan, who also does the drugs way too much

2005-08-09 11:38:09 PM
Doesn't this happen about once a year? That being the reason the nets are there in the first place? I say make the nets out of knitting yarn and let Darwin handle the rest.

2005-08-09 11:38:14 PM
So, the guy falls, and security jumps on him?

Why? "fall" implies "accident" which implies "liability" not "security issue."

2005-08-09 11:38:56 PM
This is the funniest picture I've seen in a long time.

2005-08-09 11:38:58 PM
They just said on the news that he was 18, and did it on a bet from his friends.

so nice to be young and stupid.

2005-08-09 11:38:59 PM
Wonder if the people below got a golden shower on his way down?

2005-08-09 11:39:21 PM
umm the nets are there to keep foul balls from killing children and hurting adults, its right behind home plate

2005-08-09 11:39:58 PM
This dude that fell is probably just some Johnny from Burger King, no big deal.

2005-08-09 11:41:03 PM
Probably had a good view of the game from up there.

2005-08-09 11:41:28 PM
Since security carted him off, I'm guessing he was "goofing around," but it doesn't seem like he meant to fall on the net based on his shameful demeanor. I wonder if he was drunk and hanging on the railing or...if one of his pals shoved him over.

Also, will this be the only pic released? (wondering if the sports media will "blackout" other photos to discourage further shenanigans...)

/ hopes for more photos => photoshop goodness

I was watching the game on TV. Don't know the circumstances of how he fell, but considering he dropped from the upper deck, I can kinda understand why the guy looked a bit shellshocked and bewildered, and frankly if it weren't for the netting, he'd be in a world of hurt, as would the people he'd have fallen on.

He scampered back up the netting to the luxury boxes there, where cops and security helped him back up. If he was drunk, he'd likely have been ejected. Hopefully it was just a stupid accident.

Anyway... good job by Contreras, one of a long line of good pitchers who can't cut it in New York.

2005-08-09 11:42:03 PM
sucks to be him. but the yanks suck too. its pretty sad. all that money and they wont even get into the playoffs. stupid brian cashman.

I was watching the game, I think the hole in the net is because he came down like a lawn dart. This happened a couple of years ago too, that guy had a pint of 151 rum in his back pocket.

2005-08-09 11:48:42 PM
Cleary, the terrorists have won.

2005-08-09 11:49:45 PM
I wonder if video games were to blame? What am I saying? Of course they were.

2005-08-09 11:50:22 PM
I am waiting for a drunk fan to reach for a homerun ball from atop the Monster Seats at Fenway. I've been up there. If you fall, you will die slowly and painfully.

2005-08-09 11:50:55 PM
This is HILARIOUS.

There has to be video of this somewhere?

Go Red Sox!

2005-08-09 11:52:03 PM
Speaking of which, anyone ever upper deck someone while visiting their house. I always wanted to try that.

2005-08-09 11:52:39 PM
WakkoWarner: The entire American League eastern division is atrocious this year.

Huh?

Boston, with a .580 record, would be in first place in any but the Central Divisions of the 2 leagues, where they would be 2nd. The AL East sucks? The NL West has ONE team over .500.

Give your head a shake, dude.

In some remote corner of the universe, poured out and glittering in innumerable solar systems, there once was a Yankees fan, who thought he was a clever animal who invented the yankees. That was the haughtiest and most mendacious minute of world Yankee history yet only a minute. After nature had drawn a few breaths the Yankees grew cold, and the clever animals had to die, and the World Series was over.

Yankees fans are BADASS.

2005-08-09 11:58:20 PM
My dad always tells this story that happened at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto:

He and my mother were at a game before I was born (or I was at least very young). Jays and Detroit. Fierce rivalry. People from Detroit were there too. The fans were crazy fierce and several fights broke out. Then all of a sudden, late in the game, a drunk guy started climbing the foul pole. The entire crowd went silent and everyone stared at him. He climbed and climbed and climbed. Finally, at the top, he pulled out a miny Canadian flag and started reaching, trying to stick it in the top. He couldn't reach. So finally he gave this little hop and stuck it in. My dad claims you could here the entire crowd gasp when his feet left the netting. He the clambered down onto the field and was taken away by security.

The crowd was silent the rest of the night.

"HaywoodJablonski: Was he drunk or just in shock? He looked drunk off his gourd to me."

He isnt drunk, he looks like the crap has been scared out of him. He's thinking, 'Oh crap! Oh crap! Oh crap! Oh crap!' and... 'how am I going to get out of here without everyone seeing the crap running out of my shorts down my pants?'

Perhaps he is swinging a deal with God saying, 'I promise to never [insert bad habit here] again!'

2005-08-09 11:58:39 PM
Heh, looks like a zoo exhibit.

Caution: Do not taunt the Yankees fan.

/Go Sox!

I would have left him there. Anyone notice the hole a little bit to his left? Good thing he landed where he did.

i got a frantic call from my father thinking someone was dead. but he tells me to turn on the yankee game. this guy is either drunk or scared out of his bean. and they show the replay of the camera behind home plate shaking whe he hits. funny, funny stuff.

2005-08-10 12:06:31 AM
Would have been better if he yakked all over the crowd once he hit the net. For example, on Trump's toupee!

/Go Sox!
