2005-08-09 06:05:45 PM
cool looking.. not too effective it seems though.

2005-08-09 06:12:49 PM
Still doesn't have as many fans as my G5.

2005-08-09 06:17:18 PM
Probably sounds like a room full of vacuum cleaners ;)

2005-08-09 10:55:25 PM
Probably pushes itself across the floor

It actually would be pretty cool to have an entire wall partition made of them, all running at once.

Great in the hot summer months, and great in the office to remove taco-bell induced odors and bonghits from your workspace, and into that of your colleagues.

/worked in liberal tech room.

BingoBob: Define cool.

It must be cool, with all those fans.

2005-08-10 01:26:53 AM
dem's Cool Runnings !

Cha mon !

2005-08-10 01:26:57 AM
Looking from the front of the case, air flows in through the left side and out the right side. The front an back blow air into the case and air flows from the top of the case down and out the bottom... theoretically anyway.

You are a retard!

2005-08-10 01:26:58 AM
this is ooold news. It was on slashdot and some other computer news sites months ago. It is kinda cool though. It apparently doesn't do a particularly good cooling job suprisingly enough

2005-08-10 01:27:50 AM
Cool, it might be able to run AMD now

2005-08-10 01:29:13 AM
Cool, it might be able to run AMD now

More like a Prescott Pentium.

I wonder if he has a second power supply just for the fans or what. I added seven fans to mine but then the power supply couldn't handle it all.

2005-08-10 01:31:47 AM
Is the 'Cool" tag in refrence to cool tempurature, or Fonzie Cool? My god, I'm so confused.....

2005-08-10 01:32:24 AM
Somebody please post a picture of the 3/4 size Bender (from Futurama) case that was shown on the Adult Swim bumper!

2005-08-10 01:34:13 AM
It's beautiful! It must be nice seeing it hovering there next to your desk.

2005-08-10 01:34:30 AM
-For some reason that thing makes my scalp itch...

2005-08-10 01:35:35 AM
Why not just put one big fan on each side?

2005-08-10 01:35:38 AM
And they say there's an engineering gap....

MantisS: I wonder if he has a second power supply just for the fans

I was thinkin the same

2005-08-10 01:42:42 AM
This would be cooler if every fan was pointed either in or out.

i went nuts with cooling in an attempt to keep this beast athlon xp2100+ cold enough to play games on hot summer days when i should be outside. anyhow, i discovered that with too many fans, i was creating cavitations, where there is much lower pressure, and thos cavitations would not effectively remove heat by convection (obviously). this guy might be having that too.

I had a cooler idea for a PC mod that some friends and I might go through with. Essentially, the idea is to make it look as though my PC is running thanks to miracles. We'd buy a crappy case for $5, paint it some nice colour, the burn, stab, shoot, drag, bite and destroy the case just enough to make it look like hell had its way with it.
Then put in the hardware, and get it up and running. Of course, the only real reason I want to do it is because in afew weeks I move in with new roommates in res, and want to scare people with a computer.

2005-08-10 01:46:22 AM
it would be more interesting if it had MORE POWER! HAHAHA!

/ground effect case mod?

2005-08-10 01:46:52 AM
I saw a pic on a case mod site made out of two fans. regular fans.

2005-08-10 01:47:17 AM
crappy html code

2005-08-10 01:49:44 AM
I'm surprised none of you computer geeks mentioned noise level.

There, a link should be good enough.. and if you dont like it, "you can bite my cold metal a**."

2005-08-10 01:50:37 AM
Datsa lotta farkin' fans.

2005-08-10 01:50:47 AM
Rev.K

Cool, it might be able to run AMD now

P4s run a lot hotter than AMD chips, at this stage in the game ~200 dollar A64s beat ~1000 dollar P4s in games, only morons buy intel.

2005-08-10 01:51:32 AM
Awesome Buzzkill! Good job and thanks...

2005-08-10 01:52:47 AM

2005-08-10 01:55:34 AM
Must sound like a jet engine is taking off.

Was there a pun intended with the "Cool" tag?

2005-08-10 01:58:29 AM
Cold, shiny? In a world where people have enough free time to build a bender case, does it reary* matter? more bender goodness..... http://www.wymenfan.com/bender/ the guy who made it tells all about it.

*Kim Jong Il. hehehhe

and sorry about the broken html, im an idiot.

2005-08-10 02:00:01 AM
i heard the guy went deaf

2005-08-10 02:02:37 AM
The thing weighs a ton and is as easily moved as a freshly-dead hippopotamus.

Who's building this thing? Dave Barry?
