Wow, finally a lawsuit that is worth suing over.

2005-08-02 02:20:09 PM
I have a couple very important questions. First, was she hot? If so, a second, was she wearing a thin shirt? If so, a third, who has the pic^H^H^Hevidence? We would need to extensive review the evidence if the second question was a yes.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who appreciates the brilliance of "showering her in glass and sharks." Good one indeed, submitter.

This reminds me of that stupid biatch who sued mcdonalds after she poured hot coffee in her lap. This stupid biatch was probably tapping on the tank when it broke. What a pity she wasn't killed.

was it a half chick/half shark that won't sleep with me?

seems like a valid reason to sue. probably find out later that she broke the glass though

emidln: who has the pic^H^H^Hevidence?

Hehe, that's funny... I'm kinda scared that I know what this means... luckily, I've already got a fiancee so there's no need to act like I'm not a computer geek.

Anyone notice there's now a "unable to continue with X because of psychological trauma" after every lawsuit?

Yeah, sharks suck, but seriously, get over it! People survived the holocaust and were able to get back to their accounting jobs. Unless her previous job was dangling her ankle in water with fish in it, I say GET BACK TO WORK DAMMIT!

Best headline in a long time.

And anusjones, if you think the McDonalds lawsuit was frivilous, you're ignorant. Fire up google and try out some reading comprehension.
Not everything Leno says is strictly accurate.

Nice headline for the reporter. Note that "showering her with glass - and sharks" is part of the original article.

glad you enjoyed it, but I went for the way too obvious reference. I don't think that classic will hold up much longer. Somebody will probably pull off the triple lundi.

I think, at least as kids, everyone who has ever walked through an aquarium considers what would happen if the glass were to break. That's why I don't like eating in restaurants with big takes like these...not because I really think it will happen, but just because it seems to unnatural.

It would have been even more awesome if she was showered in glass, sharks, and dogs that shoot bees out of their mouths.

Yeah. They're usually shiatty jobs. I've never heard of a bank president, a pro athlete, or movie star quitting their job due to emotional trauma. I think most people will take any excuse that comes along to quit a crap job if they think someone else will pay to support them for a while if they do.

I don't know about this woman or her lawsuit because I wasn't there, but I can say that I would shy away from most predatory animals in Australia as a survival instinct, but something about massive predators of the sea keeps me from even entering those underwater joints. If I was suddenly forced to be AMONG them, psychological trauma would be an understatement. I'd probably go blind. I don't know if I would sue for it, unless of course I really did go blind and wasn't just exaggerating.

I think this lady is entitled to some sort of compensation. Underwater windows like this should be strong enough that the shark can ram into it full speed and have the window shrug it off. They shouldn't break ever and should be so over-built that they know it won't break. I would say either the aquarium was negligent or the contractor that built it was. Either way I think some extra compensation is in order. Its just one of those things you don't screw up doing because of the hazards.

2005-08-02 02:55:11 PM
She's lucky they didn't have frickin' laser beams attached to their heads.

That said, they were probably the same sharks that are at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. RIPOFF! They put a big giant shark on the poster. Then you pay $30 or $45 or something, and go in this underwater room. And then you seem themthese teeny little 3-ft. sharks. I'm sorry, I want big nasty, fear-for-my-life sharks. I WANT to be afraid that the glass will bust. These sharks look like they would, at best, annoy me a little by nawing on my leg.

Give me a damn break. It was an ACCIDENT, lady. shiat happens. You might be entitled to get your medical treatment paid for, and maybe enough for a new set of clothes, but you don't deserve one penny more.

I am definitely the biggest oponent of frivolous and stupid lawsuits ever, but I can totally understand why she'd want some more money. I would be scared SHIATLESS if i was swimming with sharks and had a big bloody wound. Sharks can detect blood from miles away, and they farkin love it. Plus, the thought of an aquarium bursting on you is absolutely terrifying, I would totally understand if it kind of ruined aquariums for her forever. I'd probably have aquariaphobia after that. God just thinking about what that would be like gives me the shivers.
