This is stupid. How are they going to get the blood out of their socks?

2005-08-01 12:56:31 AM
Yay for when PC bullshiat becomes more important than common sense!

2005-08-01 01:01:27 AM
But it's still okay to raid the house carrying a bacon double cheeseburger, right? After all, they might get hungry while interrogating the suspect.

2005-08-01 01:07:58 AM
Caltrops, anyone?

2005-08-01 02:01:51 AM
Won't happen here. OSHA regs on potentially hazardous areas and safety.

Used to have people ask me to remove my boots when I was a cable guy. Nope, sorry. OSHA.
Your own damn fault for having white rugs and no farking landscaping. Not my fault it rained all week.

2005-08-01 02:36:54 AM
The whole article is 2 sentences. Something smells fishy to me.

Trying ... to ... resist ... canibalism ... joke ....

2005-08-01 02:44:47 AM
What's next? Will they call ahead so that the womenfolk can put on their burkhas?

2005-08-01 02:48:56 AM
Hell, why don't we just go ahead and friggin' baptize or convert all our cops to EVERY religion at once so we can just let them do their damn job?

I would have kicked you out of my house along with your attitude.

...or actually, after looking at your bio, I would have asked you to leave. Politely but firmly.

2005-08-01 04:13:17 AM
why is it stupid, all they are doing is respecting their regilion.

2005-08-01 04:17:53 AM
Well, if I was a Muslim militant nutjob afraid of getting raided, I'd hole up behind yards full of thumbtacks dipped in fast-acting neurotoxins.

/Oh sorry, UK story.... metres

2005-08-01 04:18:02 AM
Their religion can be respected when they respect another country's borders and stop blowing up civilians.

/sorry, it's true. If you don't think so, go listen to "Shiny Happy People" again.

Not that anyone should need telling this, but don't believe everything you read in The Sun.

2005-08-01 04:19:40 AM
I think the police need to take a few pages from this man's book:

sure, but he has to share; Muslims get hungry too

2005-08-01 04:25:00 AM
You know, this whole respecting other's people's cultures, religions, and beliefs has gone waaaaaaay too far! Let the damn cops do their job and let them protect themselves.

what kind of footwear will they be donning before slaughtering civilians in the tube?

birkenstocks! or maybe those snorkeling flippers...

The whole article is 2 sentences. Something smells fishy to me.

The Sun often do this, They use the website as a teaser to entice readers to buy the print version of the paper.

(In addition to taking off their socks they must also remove their underpants, put them on their heads and give praise to Admiral Ackbar before entering).

don't know if you noticed but the article was from The Sun...

I don't whether to believe it or not but it wouldn't surprise me. I live in Luton and it's a very Islamic based town. We hardly ever have semi-naked women on our billboards anymore and muslim dress is acceptable in place of school uniforms.

2005-08-01 04:41:11 AM
Dont they just chuck in tear gas and wait for the suspects to leave?

What was the name of the ancient culture with no religion, no wars and excellent engineering?

2005-08-01 04:41:52 AM
Screw the Muslims, and to the guy that wouldnt let the cable dude in for not taking his shoes off, what a dumbass, its OSHA regs, I wouldnt take mine off neither, and if you didnt let me in, you wouldnt get any cable service, so there

What a concise article.

2005-08-01 05:02:40 AM
Yeah, right. The "Unlikely" tag should have been used here.

2005-08-01 05:07:24 AM
"it was one of 18 new rules"
They did not mention the rule about knocking first to ask if they were Muslim, then if they were, having the suspect hold their gun so they could remove the shoes.

2005-08-01 05:15:44 AM
For 'raid', read 'door-to-door enquiries' and you might be closer. There is no way they are going to take their shoes off to raid any suspects house.

2005-08-01 05:16:55 AM
Sun is a bit retarded.

The law mentions only Mosques (place of worship rules) not Muslim homes..

2005-08-01 05:27:08 AM
Since when does religion give you the right to ask that someone coming to catch you leave some of their equipment outside?

Jesus, this is like that crap from Iraq a year or so ago: Some terrorists holed up in a mosque, and fired out. So, we fired back, and were promptly bashed for shooting up a mosque...

2005-08-01 05:38:38 AM
I think the phrase "You cant please everyone, all of the time" comes into play.

But it is your fault for not knowing about these:

Stretch Booties made of paper are economical too.

2005-08-01 05:49:23 AM
I think the most likely explanation is that when The Sun wrote

"POLICE have been told they must show respect by taking their SHOES OFF before raiding the homes of Muslim terror suspects."

They actually meant

"POLICE have been told they must show respect by taking their SHOES OFF before entering a mosque for a friendly chat with the local imam."

Being a shiate-filled rag and all...

OSHA can be a big pain. But I do have a pair of pink bunny slippers for the cable guy if he decides to pull that little trick.

"Socks or bunny slippers, I don't really care."

2005-08-01 05:57:45 AM
Aah, The Sun.

That bastion of journalistic integrity and intellectually stimulating reportage.

If that's what they're reporting, then I believe them! After all the red-tops are my only source of information about the world!

2005-08-01 06:02:22 AM
I am a pretty liberal guy, but this sucks

/There is no NICE way of raiding a persons home.

2005-08-01 06:15:46 AM
Being no fan of today's Republicans, I must say that political correctness is indeed now becoming more important than common sense.

Admittedly, I'm torn on racial profiling.

"Profiling" Middle Easterners is probably unconstitutional, and if you do that, what's to stop white terrorists (John Walker Lindh) or black terrorists (Richard Reid, Zacharias Mossaoui)?

Profiling younger people, like 16-40, might cause less of an uproar. Then again, someone might accidentally sneak a bomb into granny's handbag, or into baby's diaper.

No good solutions, really. Sigh.

2005-08-01 06:29:14 AM
army boots are a big pain in the fanny to take off too, you usually have to delace the tops.

I can just imagine the swat team busting in with their black face masks and goggles and body armor machine guns and little blue plastic flip flops making that "smek-smek" sound as they run.

2005-08-01 06:32:17 AM
This is so inane, it appears to be a joke or a misunderstanding.

2005-08-01 06:36:27 AM
This is not political correctness, but The Sun pushing its agenda.

Move along. The tabloid press are full of shiat.

2005-08-01 06:36:58 AM
Thankfully, most Americans don't give a flipping fark about moslem sensitivities. I bet the FBI has bacon sandals they wear when going into a mosque or some other den o' terror.

The stupid tag relates to the submitter and 95% of American redneck dumb hick Farkers.

/That estimate's a bit low probably.
//used to take shoes off when entering the home of a Muslim 45 years ago

It's against my personal beliefs for me to be arrested, fined, or otherwise hassled by the police or the judicial system in general.
