Gotta get the jump in my FBBL as to who will replace him, Von Poppel perhaps?

2002-04-17 08:46:21 AM
Sorry to tell you this, Ranger Fans, but John Hart has a terrible track record in signing pitchers. I'm an Indians fan, I know.

Rocker sucks. Van Poppel is even worse. Put Arod on the mound every single night and see what he can do.

Honestly, now: my first thought was "Don't they mean 'AA?' Alcoholics Anonymous? They can't possibly mean the American Automobile Association. He must be a drunk and they're sending him to clean up or something. Why would they send him to a motor club?"

Then I read the article.

"Oh, yeah. The Minor Leagues. Ri-i-i-ight."

I need to get out more.

This is The Man, any questions?

2002-04-17 09:11:08 AM
Rocker is nothing but a loud mouth punk with limited ability.

2002-04-17 09:14:58 AM
is "the man" different from "the muffin man"? i just figured they're the same person 'cept sometimes he's carrying food..

2002-04-17 09:21:21 AM
Should be a HERO tag.

Cheers,
Dawg

WOW....one of the rolling rock "33". How lucky are we that we have a chance to be a part of their great marketing campaign. I wish more people would put up click throughs offering me great prizes.....oh....wait....

You know what pisses me off? The concept that you're not supposed to say what you think unless it's PC. I don't agree with Rocker's views in the least, but he has the right to say what he thinks. If voicing stupid opinions were illegal, most of our asses would be locked up.
Rocker is an idiot, but he does have the right to make a complete horses ass out of himself anytime he pleases.

Hey jetfire you bring the tomatoes, I'll bring the beer.

2002-04-17 09:47:25 AM
"the man" is not a person. "the man" is what's keeping you in your place in life. Never letting you get any further than your place in life. After recieving notice that he was to report to the minors Rocker might have said "Damn the Man", not at anyone in particular.

2002-04-17 09:48:09 AM
He'll fit in just fine there in Oklahoma. The place where shiat-for-brains is a compliment.

2002-04-17 09:48:45 AM
In sports you can do 'Coke', Bang Broads, make racial slurs and even choke your coach, AS LONG AS YOU CAN PLAY.

2002-04-17 10:04:28 AM
I'm just glad Cleveland got rid of him. Wicky! Wicky! Wicky!

Go Tribe!

Doofus - I agree that everyone has a right to make a complete idiot of themselves, but come on...when you are talking to a national magazine and they are interviewing you, you are representing the whole team. When you go shooting your mouth off, it makes the whole team look bad. He is getting what he deserves. At least that is my opinion.

I know if I were speaking as a member of my company and made a complete arse out of myself, there would be some problems waiting on me when I get back to work too.

2002-04-17 10:12:34 AM
I guess if you can't piss in the tall grass you can't hang with the big dog's.

I wish he was playing for the Astro's instead. That way he would be headed to play for the Round Rock Express. (my favorite minor league team)

Charlie: I'm an Indians fan too, but unfortunately Chuck Finley got roughed up last night. Insert Tawny Kitaen joke here.

2002-04-17 10:24:17 AM
Yes, but do you know the Muffin Man?

2002-04-17 10:27:58 AM
I am sure that what happened to John Rocker has been a good lesson for every athlete that has a brain larger than a thimble. Never trust the ultra liberal press, even when they act like they are your friend. Never say anything but politically correct bullshiat to the press. Rocker was a dumbass for not knowing that a Sports Illustrated reporter was only acting as though he were a friend to get a story, but Rocker was hired for his skill in throwing a baseball, not for his high I.Q. Enough sports talk, time to go watch television and so I can find out what I think about the middle east.

2002-04-17 10:38:58 AM
The muffin Man?

2002-04-17 10:42:32 AM
the muffin man.

2002-04-17 10:44:39 AM
Thanks...that made my day for some reason.
:-)

Railgeek, Doofus: Its not like his mouth gave him a 9.63 era. He ran his mouth, his teammates started hating him even more (he never was popular), and every cities' fans (except Tomahawk-Choppin', NASCAR-lovin' Atlanta Brave fans) started riding him hard, partly as a result of his comments. His employer suspended him. Then transfered him because he lost his abiliy. Perfectly within their right to do so. But his demotion has more to do with his lack of skill (at this point) than the comments.

On a somewhat related point, I think it would have been great if they could have worked out a Carl 'Dinosaurs are a Media Fabrication' Everett and John Rocker TV show in Texas. Maybe review movies. Fight evolution. That would have been great.

Efot: Don't worry. This is the year. I can feel it.

2002-04-17 11:42:15 AM
Well, you bunch of morons, was Rocker right or not?

2002-04-17 01:13:37 PM
"Muffin man"! Isn't that a Frank Zappa Tune?

2002-04-17 03:12:20 PM
Railgeek, why is this about liberal/conservative press? He was giving an interview, he said some things that most of America would be interested in, and they reported it. Do you think they should have just cut that portion of the interview?

He had every right to say what he said. And I have every right to think he's a prick, and I also have every right to laugh when he sucks so much that the Rangers won't even let him on their pitching staff.

2002-04-17 08:32:52 PM
too much technical baseball stuff to read

2002-04-17 10:08:45 PM
Milhouse?, you are the doofus. What the hell does this have to do with NASCAR? Sounds like you have a few axes to grind. Rocker is only brought up these days because of his political incorrectness.

2002-04-17 11:00:28 PM
Fark you all.Rocker is the man.He said some some shiat that any black, mexican, jap, raghead, native american, and eskimo would've got away with.Anything a white person says is racist
