Somebody please tell me how the HELL the Palestinians expect to gain peace if they are using such brutal violence on others (mainly Israel, but also 9/11)?

2002-04-14 02:49:54 AM
Also, if you read the statement issued, arafat makes a very breif comment about the bombers, the spends the rest of it biatching about Israel.

2002-04-14 05:35:45 AM
Arafat has denounced such terrorism several times before, nothing changed.

AntiNorm, your post makes no sense. The Palestinians have nothing to do with 9/11. If you have evidence to the contrary, please supply it to the US government.

As for the reason they are resorting to such fanatical insane tactics, it is because they have been oppressed by Israel for decades. Both sides are guilty of atrocities.

2002-04-14 05:36:04 AM
If someone knocked on my door and told me I'm not welcome in my own land anymore, I'd be biatching, too.

Flame on!

2002-04-14 05:37:19 AM
Korzeniowski: Israel more than Palestine. Israel's even done it on an international level.

2002-04-14 05:39:35 AM
true, there is one "hrmm... bombingisraelisbad. But their BRUTAL ASSAULT ON A CHURCH IN BETHLEHEM is intolerable... blah blah blah." Whatever, I guess I've given up hope on being able to see Arafat as the good guy.

Besides, weren't there armed Palestinians using the church as a refuge because they knew the Israelis wouldn't attack the CHURCH itself? I have about as much respect for the "let's use the church as a shield" people as I do for the people that jammed themselves into Sadaam Hussein's palaces as human shields (so the U.S. couldn't bomb the buildings / command centers) >:-( Or the Taliban putting tanks in/adjacent to schools, hospitals, and mosques to protect them with PR.

2002-04-14 05:40:51 AM
of course, it's hard to see ANYONE as a good guy there now... everything's all farked up, hopefully Powell can straighten it out one way or another. :(

2002-04-14 05:55:53 AM
I thought I read an interview in which Hamas (sp) or Islamic Jihad stated that if arafat told them to stop they would? Maybe I'm wrong. There has been no stoppage.

2002-04-14 05:57:12 AM
''The Palestinian leadership and His Excellency President Arafat express their deep condemnation for all terrorist activities, whether it is state terrorism, terrorism by a group or individual terrorism. This position comes from our steady principle that rejects using violence and terror against civilians as a way to achieve political goals.''

that statment was only made because he would not get a meeting with Collin Powel(not sure about spelling) if he didnt, of course hes pro these attacks. If Israel took some of America what would you do?

2002-04-14 06:07:22 AM
Mrfuznut, you're right, of course, but I was hesitant to say such a thing, lest some right wing conservative label me antisemitic (which would be hard, considering my ancestry).

As for Colin Powell, his mission appears already a failure. Apparently he got a heavy reception from Sharon & co. They gave him breakfast and then showed him color pics of mangled Israeli bomb victims during it. He nearly chucked. They harangued him for a while on Bush's stance. By the time the press conference rolled round, his hardline terminology had evaporated. He had to ruefully admit that he had been given no timetable for Israel's withdrawal. One of the translators mistakenly said "united states of Israel" when he meant to refer to the States. There were amused smiles from the Israelis at this. Arrogant assholes. The Israelis are playing the US for suckers.

Hope the palestinian people drive out the Isrealies.

1) Facts point that isreal is the agressor.
2) Why isn't Amreica suppling Palestine witht he sme weapons that do isreal ? called a fair fight.

I am sorry but that view point is currently that the palestines are doing bombings for no reason at all ?? does anyone care to think about reasons why ? Does anybody here actually know ?

2002-04-14 06:12:32 AM
Palestinians are pizzed that we helped setup Isral in '47, and they got squat. That's the start of this whole mess. Time to make some glass-ass and start over.

2002-04-14 06:13:00 AM
The ironic thing is that every country in the world strongly aposes what Isreal is doing except for the American people ( Sorry but america made it clear that it is fine to blame a nation for the action of a few)and that America says it shows no favortism to isreal.

2002-04-14 06:14:29 AM
Hey americans .. can you explain why you guys are gearing up for war with Iraq again ? i am at a loss

oh there you are. Hi.

2002-04-14 06:18:26 AM
For the same reason your boys (Aussie) are here with us - to help stamp out terrorism.

And if you believe that, I've some low-rent flats in the "Stan's" I'll sell you for cheap . . .

2002-04-14 06:18:51 AM
bit - hello. Have something to contribute this time around ?

2002-04-14 06:20:41 AM
stans ?

Think you will find most of the world is with you after bush said " if you aren't with us you are against us" :0)

2002-04-14 06:22:12 AM
Well I wanted to play on the other thread but here'll do fine. Now....where were we? oh I remember, you were demonstrating your powers of discernment and insight. Come over here to practise?

2002-04-14 06:23:37 AM
Stans = Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, etc.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that some of the girls came, too. Dang cute; I may have to move down-under when I retire.

NukeDaWhales: After the Palestinians fought against the axis in the Middle East (yes, they did, believe it or not), they were promised a bunch of things. Including their own land. But then guilt got in the way, and they got farked over, lied to, and lost their nation.

Phelpsbomb: Actually, I read (don't remember where, sorry) that Hamas and company said that they listen to Arafat, but when it comes to planning and decision making, they have their own top guys that decide what to do. In other words, they do what THEY want to do, if they deem it necessary. If Arafat says "stop the suicide bombings!" but the leaders of Hamas don't want to, they won't. And they don't seem to want to.

2002-04-14 06:26:08 AM
Suprised thought we only had the SAS there .. known we have had a naval presence there since the gulf war.

Nuke sure man com over . aussie woman are always impressed with yank men :0)

don't you get sick of being told what to think ?.. i am not here to educate you .. research it yourself.

But i'll leave you with this.

Some one drives a bull dozer through your parents house - they are asleep in bed an are crushed .. they do not stop and move to the next house and so on and so on.

You have a rifle.

2002-04-14 06:32:25 AM
Trader_of_shots: Yeah, well being in the AF means I get to be a REMF (Rear Eschelon MoFo) most of the time and can hang where all the support folks do. I'd tell you where, but then I'd... Ah, too cliche.

Mrfuznut: Agreed - Uncle Sam dosen't always play nice when it doesn't go with his objectives. Part of what has me upset about supporting the current "war". Don't necessarily like it, but I'll do my duty till they say I can go home.

Let's get it on!

Without wanting to take sides, there are a coupla thing about MOST Americans I can't reconcile (NB: not all Americans).

First of all there is the fact that they inherently dislike all Arabs (or should that be rag heads?). Irrespective of the facts, they seem to think that ALL Arabs are American-hating, AK47 toting terrorist religous fanatics.

Second up, and I could be incorrect here; they seem to condemn the targeting of civilians by Palestinian terrorists (who may or may not be linked to Yasser Arafat). However, until perhaps very recently(9/11), they have not really been that vocal in condemning Irish Republican (IRA) terrorist attrocities commited against the British.

Both intelligent feedback (and also flaming) are welcome...

2002-04-14 06:46:55 AM
This can be also said about the atrocities that have been ignored in Africa. We're only the World's Policeman when it affects our economy or "security".

*And I used to be a Company Man*

2002-04-14 06:49:05 AM
- sorry dude fighting on he internet is for fools. You can yell abuse if it makes you feel a bigger man. Hope you think its works.

GARgo.. No arguement here. My only beef is that, knowing that these attacks are being done by an organisation outside of goverment control - the goverment who is powerless (not allowed to mass a military) to stop are being punished aswell as civilains.

2002-04-14 06:50:23 AM
no abuse. just doin my job. show me the money and i'll get off your case.....rant and call it fact and i'll be here all night...........your call

2002-04-14 06:50:49 AM
Gargoylemann, good points. As far as the general dislike for the middle east, it goes back to the Iran hostage crisis. Watching the death to America rallies for 20 years has left a really bad taste. Just my opinion.

2002-04-14 06:51:20 AM
Nuke - simply question. Does the US goverment Lie to the public regarding military operations ?

2002-04-14 06:52:50 AM
what did i say that you thought was untrue ?

2002-04-14 06:53:23 AM
Gargoyleman: "Out of the 30 bigegst conflicts going on at the momnet, Muslims are involved in 27 of them" So says my Sunday Telegraph. It's not Arabs who are the geeral problem, just the Islamic ones. They live in hate. They die die in hate. They raise their children to hate.

In France at the moment, gangs of arab youths are burning synagogues and attacking Jewsih football teams. So far no-one's burn a Mosque ot attacked a woman in a veil.

Live and let live? If you think it's Isreal's fault, you're living in a dream-world.

Nuke how did you know i was from oz .. i can not see any IP info that would let that out ?

"So far no-one's burn a Mosque ot attacked a woman in a veil."

No in the days preceeding S11 - many deaths were reported of muslims in america including a man (i am ot sure if he was in traditional dress - prolyl not) in new york

2002-04-14 07:00:47 AM

Is it your position that more muslims have been killed in the us after 911 than before 911?

2002-04-14 07:02:25 AM
Trader_of_shots: No, not LIE - but what government ever tells the whole truth if it believes that it is unpopular or will not further it's aims?

As for knowing where you are from, sometimes it's good to be a comm guy that controls all the network toys!

*Actually, MELB wasn't too hard to figure . . . ;-) *

"Does the US goverment Lie to the public regarding military operations ?"

and which lies would you be referring to? Or are you really suggesting that the us would be better served by DOD publishing when they're gonna hit what. They should be shot if they publish anything of the kind. Or is "no comment" the lie you speak of?
