Wow, a threepeat. Is that a first?

The evidence of planets can be seen only with the Keck telescope's highly sophisticated equipment.
Oh sure there's a solar system there, but dont check it with your telescopes, it's pointless. Only our super high-tech telescope has been granted the power to view it.

Cool.

2002-04-13 07:08:15 PM
Wait, nevermind. I was thinking of the planets thing. Don't mind me...

*whistles*

If it's visible to the naked eye, then why'd it take so long to discover?

2002-04-13 07:14:18 PM
The star is visible to the naked eye... not the system...

The evidence of planets can be seen only with the Keck telescope's highly sophisticated equipment. But the star itself is visible from Earth without a telescope as a fuzzy, dim light.
Again with the misleading headlines. Submitters should have more pride in their work.

Better point some radio telescopes at that sucker. Who knows, in 126 years we might get a response.

2002-04-13 07:25:06 PM
millions of earth-like planets and now this?

2002-04-13 07:30:32 PM
it doesn't mean you can see it without telescopes, but that you can see it with one superpowerful telescope if you eye isn't wearing any clothes.

2002-04-13 07:33:36 PM
sure... but do they have ?

This is old news. They have known about this since the 80's. Take a look at this... http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap971128.html

Does this involve nudity?

2002-04-13 08:00:39 PM
i'm not sure, but i think i can see LOTS of stars with my naked eye

we needed scientists?

2002-04-13 08:23:12 PM
yeah? then how come no one has noticed it before

i can see both the star and system with my naked eye. i must be a farking prodigy or something.

2002-04-13 08:36:17 PM
assuming that there is an earth like planet in this system, with intelligent life either equivelant to our civ or at a level 1,2 or 3 civ... then we can expect them to ring our doorbell and turn us into slaves with in the next 61 years since the've recieved our hitler broadcast two years ago

If that nazi hitler drinking game is still going on... that's three for ya'll

No shiat, sherlock! From Earth, sans telescope, do stars look like anything else?

2002-04-13 08:56:03 PM
Stars and stuff are stupid.

Now that we finely have somewhere to send all the blacks and Mexicans we better start building a really big ship.

CatFarker, excellent troll. I salute you, sir!

CatFarker: You forgot the jews.

Haha... The comments really sound like y'all expected to be able to see planets in other stellar systems. We can't even see Pluto with the naked eye. On the other hand, if it's not a planetary system around Sol (that's our sun), it's not a solar system. Thanks.

2002-04-13 10:59:43 PM
It's right beside Uranus.

catfarker, lol.

2002-04-13 11:26:00 PM
i thought i had something worth saying about b00bies, but i was wrong. maybe if you had a "Keck telescope" with "highly sophisticated equipment" stuck in your eye THEN youd be able to see it with the naked eye? im a bit confused here...

2002-04-14 12:09:42 AM
CallousPrick I didn't forget them. Their ship will go straight into the sun.

You. Da. Man.
