Heh, that comic still kicks ass. I got PO'd at MAD when they started publishing cartoons from Ted Rall, though. They can do so much better.

This coming from a guy who used to regularly post COX & FORKUM cartoons to this forum.

By the way, everyone, remember how when the prison camp torture was just "alleged," the line people like Tinian swore by was something like, "Torture? Pshaw! The United States would never do something like that! Anybody who says so is obviously lying!"

Now it's, "Well maybe torture did happen, but-but-but OUR torture isn't as bad as their torture, or some other group of bad guys' torture," or splitting hairs over the definition of the word.

Agreed, Tinian, you're not taking it seriously.

More than the torture, I'm disturbed that it's being done to people without charge or trial.

Tinian:

If you've read accounts of the Soviet gulag you may recall the tales of men forced to march ten miles to a labor site in shoes made of cardboard and frozen spit, and digging hard dead beets from permafrost with hands that hadnt seen mittens in three years. "Light pushing" in this context was a rifle butt to the chin, twice.

OMG, it's Rush Limbaugh's semi-literate brother, or sister. Just stfu already Tinian, I read the stuff that you pass off as original posts and I see Tubgirl in my mind. You have all of these ludicrous "points" that you make, but you can't defend them. Ever wonder why? Because you're infected with Fatasscocci Limabugh, but he doesn't have to defend the crap he spews. You repeat it, almost verbatim, day after day and you can't defend it either, in a forum where you should at least have the balls to try.

Turn off the radio and come back when you can formulate an idea we haven't already heard on the EIB Net.

A Republican National Committee official said the former first lady was "part of today's angry and adrift Democrat Party..."

That's life, you know? It may bruise their delicate feelings, those sensitive flowers, but Republicans are just going to have to live with the equation of Dear Leader W and Alfred E. Neuman, 'cause it's true...

While discussing prisoner treatment at Gitmo today Mr. Limbaugh said something like this: The prisoners in Gitmo have better food and lodging than our American soldiers in Iraq (maybe true) .... blah....blah...blah....We go out of our way to let them pray (maybe true) ....blah blah...while in this country our own citizens can't even carry around The Bible or pray in public places (Lie, Distortion, Stupid Rhetoric). I could just all the Ditto Heads nodding their heads in complete and rapt agreement. Stupid Ditto Heads.

So effective it is almost guaranteed to prevent 'Moonbase' Bush getting re-elected.

Because if he's just offering the same plan, what's the difference between him and Bush?

If I were to make a huge fark-up at work and was trying to convince my boss not to fire me I would not say "Well, the guy you're thinking about hiring to replace me has the same idea that I do to fix the mess I've created. Since he has no new ideas, you should just keep me". All things being equal, if were an important job and a big fark-up, I'd chose the guy that didn't fark up. But hey, whatever, maybe that's just me.

Wait, why the hell are we talking about this?

I don't know. I'm outta here...again. It's seriously past beer o'clock.

The election ended already.

Seriously though, it's the 21st century. Sadly enough, the campaign is continuous.

The bile against Hillary has been going on since before Clinton took office. The Republicans have made some VERY nasty comments about her.

As for the Democrats "insulting the president"... The same pleople who are whining about that are the same people who made all sorts of nasty comments about the Clintons during the Clinton presidency. The double standard is amazing.

The third sounds promising... McCain/Dean '08!

Yes it has, and no I'm not.

I've been saying that Bush and pals are amoral, decietfull, and only concerned about monetary gain for their clique.

While some people might see this as evidence of "polarising", I consider it to be simply a statement of fact.

In order my posts to be considered some sort of partisan polarizing, I would have had to include some statement about how Hillary Clinton walks on water, can do no wrong, and shiats gold bricks.... which, you may have noticed, I did not do.

I'm suprised the more vocal of the bunch didnt respond to that little fib. I was trying to throw gas on the fire but I guess I missed. Truth be told I dont believe in torture no matter what the outcome may be. Its wrong. Were supposed to be the good guys and that would lower us to a criminal level. I dont think we'd be proud winning this war by using those tactics.

Um... I'm assuming that you're simply fantasizing and posting some sort of wish-fulfilment scenario.

That you fantasize about torturing people says a lot about you as a person.

On the other hand, I could be making a false assumption, and you are actually stating the truth about your activities....

..in which case, I'd have to ask the obvious question: How many American women did you torture, in order to be able to make the determination that the average one is made of tougher stuff than the "sawed-off little bastards" that you also tortured?

2? 5? 10?

Lucky for you that you found government employment that suits your proclivities, or you'd have ended up in prison as just another crazed serial killer type guy.

You know, I can't think of anything that anybody has said about Hillary Clinton that is "VERY nasty" -- except maybe Newt Gingrich's mom calling her a beeyotch, but who could blame her. Typical salty grandma callin' 'em how she sees 'em.

To quote Sherlock Holmes: "Republicans don't like Hillary Clinton b/c her political ideology is wildly different than their own."

I don't like Clinton as a conservative b/c she wants to do stuff like "universal" health care and other such collectivist nonsense that has been misproven everywhere in the world but somehow captures the hearts (not the minds) of idealists in this country. As a result I take a very negative attitude toward her. If you think that I'm being VERY nasty, ligten up.

2005-07-11 11:42:28 PM
"Hillary Clinton's opportunistic attempt to market herself as a centrist is like a wolf dressing up in sheep's clothing," said RNC spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt. "Such thinly veiled rhetoric doesn't change the fact she is part of today's angry and adrift Democrat Party."

First off... if they didn't give her the OPPORTUNITY to let people know about Bush's serious leadership flaws, this wouldn't be a problem for them, would it?

Secondly... I think the second quote should have been, "Such thinly veiled rhetoric doesn't change the fact that she is part of today's angry and adrift American people." Would have been much closer to the truth.

Rush Limbaugh routinely refers to her as "Hitlery" and spent two years or so accusing her of shooting Vince Foster in the head. It goes beyond making nasty comments. It is an organized program of character assassaination, syndicated nationwide, with your hosts; Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Never mind what should be the actionable rantings Michael Savage and Ann Coulter.

And yes, I said before that I listen to Hannity, Boortz and Limbaugh daily. But I make mental notes and NEVER buy the products advertised on their programs. Ever noticed how much Rush pushes products targeted at the geriatric set? I also own all of their books, bought secondhand and suitably disposed of - ie I actually used The Way Things Ought To Be for toilet paper over the course of about a year, probably dooming myself to some sort of ass cancer.
