2005-07-11 10:23:03 AM

/at work

2005-07-11 10:28:05 AM
This is totally untrue!

2005-07-11 10:34:35 AM
I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

2005-07-11 10:38:50 AM
Only two hours? What slackards. I can waste 8 hours in a good day.

2005-07-11 10:42:57 AM
Surfing the net, and spacing out *is* my job. And yes, it's a waste of time.

2005-07-11 10:44:11 AM

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Long live FARK! ...and beer, boobies...and, of cousre, mosh girl

2005-07-11 10:56:54 AM
Well into wasted hour #2 here. I would be into hour #3, but I showed up late.

2005-07-11 10:58:40 AM
I've already wasted three hours this morning. I'm above the curve.

2005-07-11 11:07:57 AM
Not me; I multitask

Not me; I multitask

Me too......three fark windows open.

2005-07-11 11:11:05 AM
toejamfball

Me too. I can multitask myself into wasting 10 hours a day surfing at work.

2005-07-11 11:11:26 AM
i get every other friday off.
that means i'm here 11 hours a day, including lunch at my desk.

in other news, i fark 11 hours a day.
really, i do maybe ten minutes of actual work in a week.

/gotta get back to work (submitting WTF headlines and stupid comments)
/just sayin'

2005-07-11 11:11:32 AM
toejamfball by multitask do you mean quick with the minimize button?

2005-07-11 11:12:13 AM
8 hours here. Sometimes more when I get home!

2005-07-11 11:13:31 AM

If I lose my job..DREW..you better hire me...

2005-07-11 11:13:34 AM
and the weekends!

2005-07-11 11:16:00 AM
Well of course it's only two... before lunch. When you show up at 10 and eat at noon...

Wasted time did not include the standard lunch hour.

Because that's time well spent!

2005-07-11 11:16:46 AM
How did people waste time before the internet? I didn't get an office gig until '98.

2005-07-11 11:16:48 AM
Thank GOD I can't surf the internet from work.

/actually works 8hrs a day.
//okay 7
///needs an office job

2005-07-11 11:17:11 AM
Just two?!?

//Time Burgler :D

I was just about to comment when my boss walked in. Yaay for Firefox tabs. I switched to the php/sql project I am actually supposed to be working on (I'm done with it, so I don't have anything left to do). Anyway, I've already wasted about an hour this morning, plus a coffee break on the way to return some equipment to another department.

/looking forward to lunch
//43 minutes left

2005-07-11 11:18:11 AM
Two hours?!!? Lightweights!

2005-07-11 11:18:24 AM
two hours... omg! Some of you are slacking... coz I sure am raising that average!!

2005-07-11 11:18:37 AM
Lightweights!

salty45: Forget the minimize button. This is for the truly hardcore. :^)

2005-07-11 11:19:44 AM

Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

2005-07-11 11:19:52 AM
Waste is a strong word. What's good for me is good for the company...think I'm going to go have a nap.

2005-07-11 11:20:09 AM
This is the only reason why I stay fark-lite. POOR IMPULSE CONTROL. I'd be the biggest fark-whore. Heck, I'd come into work on weekends just to add more overtime to FARK.

/My life is dead; long live Fark.

2005-07-11 11:21:31 AM
i don't think that its the workers slacking off (although it very well may be), it could be that the job is slow and dull and boring.

I know mine is

/obvious

2005-07-11 11:21:39 AM
I gave up my TF sub because I was truly wasting 4-6 hours a day surfing OTJ.

To day is my birthday, so I decided to "take the day off" ifyaknowwutimean.

2005-07-11 11:22:19 AM
I spend 2-1/2 hours on Fark per day, 3 if you count the 30 minutes spent weighing whether to risk opening up a NSFW photo.

2005-07-11 11:23:27 AM
I would say about 6 1/2 for me. That one hour (sometimes more) for lunch doesnt really count. So I probably do about half an hour of actual work a day. Hey ya get what you pay for...

2005-07-11 11:23:37 AM
I didn't realize how reliant I was on the Internet until I was without it for a week because of a move to a new office. So as far as I'm concerned, my employer owes me Internet comp time.

2005-07-11 11:23:37 AM
I swear, wasting time on Fark seems universal at my office. Everyone I know looks at Fark.

2005-07-11 11:23:41 AM
If wasting time on FARK is wrong, I don't want to be right!

2005-07-11 11:23:59 AM
I'm stuck in front of a computer in an office with no windows and nobody to talk to all day. There is nothing else to do but waste time.
Working hard or hardly working, eh, comrade?

/I hate that phrase

2005-07-11 11:24:29 AM
What some people call "wasting time" I call "not going insane". Surfing at work lowers my stress levels, keeps me informed, and makes me enjoy my job more. I would get a lot less work done if my net connection was cut off, because I'd probably quit or go postal.

2005-07-11 11:24:52 AM
I like the comment in the article that says it is because workers don't have enough to do. I have about 2 days worth of work left to stretch out until the end of August for my job.

It doesn't help that everyone in the office is on holidays but me.

2005-07-11 11:25:32 AM
Yeah, I waste that time, but I end up working it later in the week...damn billable hours

2005-07-11 11:25:37 AM
DrPshyco - "This is for the truly hardcore."

Unless you can't install the software to run it at work, like myself. :(

Nice idea, though!

2005-07-11 11:26:03 AM
I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

CLASSIC.

//Personally, I'm up to sixteen minutes..

2005-07-11 11:26:24 AM
Wow look at that kid behind mosh girl...that is a very frightened little boy. Cant say I blame him.

2005-07-11 11:26:39 AM
FARK saves my ass during the week, seriously. OK, it isn't by far the only site I regular, but it has always been; others come and go. My office desk job gets really stressful sometimes and I pop up a browser whenever I can to clear my head and relax for a bit. When I'm really busy, I burn out around 2 or 3- if I keep pressing I only end up making more mistakes.

I love my FARK. I agree- only two hours? HA!

2005-07-11 11:26:50 AM
Back up in that ass with the resurection.

2005-07-11 11:27:02 AM
im forwarding this thread to all of your bosses

2005-07-11 11:27:22 AM
"Farking off" at work is the only thing that prevents the voices in my head from conspiring to do more wasteful things.

/That chick in the personals looks like she's about 9 years old.

2005-07-11 11:28:16 AM
Kathy Lee needs to crack the whip on these little kids surfing Nickelodeon.com. They're giving the rest of us hard working individuals a bad name.

It's not slacking, its staying sane and multi-tasking...
