well the link you have goes to his site, which makes no mention of his death. Google News has no mention of it either. Have a valid link by any chance?

2005-07-01 06:24:18 PM
oops, just missed the allaccess.com post. Sorry!

2005-07-01 06:26:36 PM
"House is not a Home" -- it still makes me cry to listen to it.

2005-07-01 06:26:46 PM
Wouldn't be that surprising, after the huge stroke that he had last year.

Sad if it's true.

2005-07-01 06:27:24 PM
Are we prepared for the flood of Newsflashes?

Cerie: Legendary R&B artist Luther Vandross has died, CNN has confirmed. Details to come.

Well.......crap.

2005-07-01 06:27:34 PM
Yeah, it's on the cnn.com main page now. That's sad, he was an amazing talent.

2005-07-01 06:30:04 PM
How truly sad. He had such a beautiful voice, and 55 seems pretty young to go.

2005-07-01 06:30:27 PM
Wow.

Wasn't really my type of music, but I can appreciate his talent. And he'll always have a place in my heart since "Here and Now" was sung at my mom's wedding to my stepfather.

Very sad. :(

2005-07-01 06:31:01 PM
I was just listening one of CD's the other day.
He was a favorite of mine. His last CD was really
great.

2005-07-01 06:31:22 PM
damn first HST. then Mitch Hedberg. now this.

They say greats die in threes. In this case, all entertainers in some fashion.

2005-07-01 06:42:11 PM
RIP Luther - you made some great music. I was especially touched by "Dance with my father" it always makes me cry. I hope you are at peace.

2005-07-01 07:01:52 PM
NO!!

2005-07-01 08:19:01 PM
Minor correction: He was 54.

Still young.

He's Dancing with his Father Again.

2005-07-01 08:19:09 PM
That is so sad. Good musicians should not be allowed to die.

2005-07-01 08:21:01 PM
First headline that popped into mind:

[SAD] "Luther dances with his father again."

RIP Luther

That is so sad. Good musicians should not be allowed to die.

But crappy ones (listening, Britney, et al) will live forever.

2005-07-01 08:22:55 PM
Luther helped me lose my virginity.

//lots of times

2005-07-01 08:23:01 PM
Way too young..

2005-07-01 08:24:05 PM
Imagine the concerts the Afterlife will be able to have with these two:

You don't get better music than a Barry and Luther duet.

2005-07-01 08:24:11 PM
Devastating. What a beautiful, beautiful voice.

I fell in love to "Here and Now;" I let love go listening to "Don't you remember you told me you loved me, baby." My love life's soundtrack is filled with his songs.

One of the most unique voices of his generation. He will be sorely missed.

2005-07-01 08:24:19 PM
So sad to hear this news.
Luther V. was a great talent and had a wonderful voice.
My favorite song of his is "Power of Love/Love Power" - everytime I hear it, I have to sing along.

2005-07-01 08:26:14 PM
Godspeed Luther, you will be missed

2005-07-01 08:26:17 PM
Now who will help Jim Nantz celebrate the NCAA Men's Basketball champions :(

2005-07-01 08:27:30 PM

2005-07-01 08:27:33 PM
God bless. He'll always be remembered for his amazing invention. A true .

2005-07-01 08:29:26 PM
That friggin' sucks. :(

2005-07-01 08:31:29 PM
Someone on Fark once said this about Barry White after his death and I'm sure it applies to Luther as well:

"He's the reason many of us are here today"

2005-07-01 08:31:40 PM
RIP man, hellva voice.

2005-07-01 08:33:00 PM
Man, that's sad.

2005-07-01 08:33:31 PM

2005-07-01 08:38:09 PM
ChocolateCoveredBacon: [SAD] "Luther dances with his father again."

That's the one I hoped would get the greenlight.

2005-07-01 08:40:13 PM
Rest in Peace, Luther. A unique musical influence.

2005-07-01 08:40:52 PM
Screamingredmenace
I hope you aren't saying that if they haven't listened to his music in 6 months they don't really care. As someone said before, he just may be the reason some of us exist.

2005-07-01 08:42:15 PM
actually, i preferred luther whatsisname from 2live crew. he had a way with words.

2005-07-01 08:43:29 PM

2005-07-01 08:43:57 PM
What a sad day in lovers lane. He was definitely all class and talent. Helped many of us set the mood many a times. We all owe this man big.

2005-07-01 08:44:02 PM
