I think that picture posted above proves that we were right to invade Iraq. Surely a man of that incredible size was a threat to us all. I doubt that Mothra, or even Godzilla himself could have put a stop to Saddam, had he chosen to rampage through an American city.

No joke. But at least King Kong is coming in December. Maybe he can defend us from the uber-mecha-Saddam.

Truly, he is our last, best hope.

I think the sad thing the picture shows is that, while Saddam had no role in the carrying out of the attacks, he did apparently light a massive celebratory cigar with the flames of the burning buildings. No respect whatsoever.

PS This just in - don't hotlink images from jan.moesen.nu

Hayes found his "evidence" inside that suitcase of cash Rove gave him...
This sudden turn of 9-11 justification for Iraq makes me sick. Do I need to post the text of Bush's "They got WMD's and they are going to kill us all tomorrow if we don't attack them right now" speech?

Last year it was "democracy" that didn't work, now its 9-11. What will it be next year "my dog ate my exit strategy"?

How about a general "South" tag that encompasses everything from Texas to Virginia and down to Georgia.

Florida tag still unbelievably adequate!

I have lots of reasons to loathe W and almost every other politician and president to come down the pike, but this is the one thing that makes me want to vomit.

The fact that this POS used a huge national tragedy to not only ignore the real perpetrators, but to send our soldiers to die far what is at best a personal whim, is unconscionable.

By far the most depressing thing is that the public tends to take this BS as gospel.

That pic is disturbing but I can't seem to look away.

Many years ago you couldn't get through a thread without seeing that pic about 20 times. I had hoped never to see it again.

I, for one, know of one more place that doesn't need to be checked for WMDs.

Spoonfed'sBuddy: I just lost my apetite. Thanks.

I bet loss of appetite due to viewing the goat man is enough to get you a medical marijuana prescription in San Francisco. Actually, it might not be an uncommon thing there.

Actually believes that crap, or just brown-nosing the administration? You be the judge.

To be honest though, ever since I heard that GW won the #6 spot on the History Channels Top 100 Americans list, I'm no longer surprised by the depths of American stupidity.

oh crap, now beartoy will have to rework all of his conspiracy theories...

Not that I'm complaining, but are the Republicans making a pre-emptive strike to lose the '06 elections?

Old enough to know better:

Does it matter?

Looks like the congressman in question, Robin Hayes (NC-08), got 55% of the vote in 2004 when he ran for reelection. Been in the House since '98. Got 54% in 2002 and 55% in 2000. This guy will now have a big fat target on his back for '06.

By the way -- he's a Duke grad.

What the hell, was he sticking his head in there to take a look around? I guess if the person was light enough, you could wear them like a hat.

Mob Barley: The Earth is FLAT!!!

"The World is Flat" by Thomas Friedman, is a pretty good book, and it pretains somewhat to this subject.

ogre27620,

That's a mighty fine looking diversionary strawman you have there. How much do you want for it?

Care to address the actual issue at hand? Or is this so indefensible, that you have to divert attention away from the actual farking issue, and make this partisan "They did bad stuff too!"?

Duh. They're politicians.

Why is it that it seems like there are only a handfull of people that can tell when they're being lied to no matter what party afilliation the liar has?

So, ogre27620... do you think Iraq was or was not responsible for the attacks on 9/11?

No shiat.
But I was serious. I have evidence you cant see.

...ya, they do.

Iraq was behind 2/26.

Smoke screen, smoke screen so the truth cannot be seen!

Can we please get over this already, people? Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. I guess everyone with those crazy Muslim (and therefore terrorist) names are all to blame and must all be killed? I still cannot believe people are still willing to go along with this whole stupid chirade.

I understand that every extreme of any issue is going to having nutjobs, but why do you morons have to elect them? Robin Hayes ought to be teaching History in Colorado.

Let me put it this way: Color me skeptical.

Quick, another diversion, "Gays can marry in Canada!"

Not only that, there is a bill to decriminalize pot in Canada ... working its way thru the system.

Oh, and we have a balanced budget, and a positive trade balance (thanks to oil, the USA and China).

Come and git us cowboy!!

No, but I'm pretty sure Saddam personally shot down JFK Jr.'s airplane.

The government has released a sketch of others thought to be involved in 9/11:

2005-06-29 09:28:12 PM
"Saddam Hussein and people like him were very much involved in 9/11," Rep. Robin Hayes said.

I say we let him talk it up. It will make the fall of the GOP that much harder. Where's Major Thomb or Brockway when you need 'em?

2005-06-29 09:29:04 PM
*sigh*

If the MP for North Manchester or wherever said something like this, he'd be laughed out of Parliament. This guy probably just won himself re-election.

And Americans wonder why people think they're stupid.

2005-06-29 09:29:04 PM
