I didn't have as much time to organize this as in
previous years but...

This is the first annual July 4th Fark Jam at the CAM
and it is taking place at the 9th annual
LakeElsinoreCAM July 4th party

wakitu and I have been having a huge bash
every 4th since we moved here to the house on the
lake. It has always been a blast. 2 days of music,
family, good friends, new friends and fireworks.

We are practically equidistant (an hour or so)
south from LA
north from San Diego
east from Orange County
west from Riverside

A chance for all So Cal Farkers to meet

This year we have:
A boat parade
3 or 4 fireworks shows over the lake
Free shows by 12-string virtuoso spontn80
A stage and PA and half-assed backline
Bring your instruments, amps and cables
No talent required
All levels of skill and all instruments are welcome
All musical styles welcome

Surprises on the big screen
Free beer
Limited camping available here(reservations required)
Plenty of camping in the area

Nearby recreation abounds
Baseball at the diamond (fireworks after)
Boating (BYOB)
Jet skiing
Hang gliding
World class dirt bike track

Bring booze, food, musical instruments, family and friends.

Kids with responsible parents welcome

please bring your tolerance for others' vices

2005-06-29 04:44:35 AM
Wow, kewl, and I love the Lake Elsinore area (always reminds me of Hamlet, wonder why?), earthquakes be damned. So, what -- do we just bring our equipment on out? I'm a keyboardist myself. You have da amps, or should we show up self-contained?
2005-06-29 05:35:14 AM
ya bring it out
what do you have?

i can plug into the PA if you like
but bring an amp if you can and a mic if you sing
2005-06-29 12:15:40 PM
By "any instruments" you meant "anything except farking bagpipes" right?

/will pipe for beer
2005-06-29 01:35:13 PM
Are you kiddin? wakitu will tear up after your first inflator note. You should have seen her at the Highland
Games, it was embarrassing!
And me? My Irish gramma used to sing me "Danny Boy" when i was a wee(ing) lad. And my Scotish granpa changed our name from MacGregor when he came over!

I'm afraid the pipes are in my blood.

bring it on
will beer for pipes!

BYOC?! Damn. I thought it was gonna be like the Mansion.

I was half kidding about the band comment, I was in a band but we were only popular to hippies and our girlfriends. A midwest band with lots o guitars. We did have cool bands that we played with but alas we never made it out of the cornfields much. But I will say this, I was in a bar in Arizona (I am from Illinois) and this guy came up to me and said "You were the lead singer in The Vinces huh?" and I said "Yep", to which he replied "You guys rocked, playing out here now?" I laughed and bought him a beer.

I will see what I can do about getting a chick to come out with me and I'll let ya know. Traffic should be a breeze right? LMAO!

Just Mapquested it, doesn't look too bad. It is on my list for Monday, we'll see how drunk I get on Sunday. Hell, hopefully I won't get home on Sunday. I'll have to get some strings for my electric, but the acoustic is good to go. Got an amp too, and a wah-wah pedal.
2005-06-29 05:58:57 PM

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): You will seek to have group activities at your home. Or find places that feel like home yet are within a group. New social relationships that provide nurturance will be important. You will observe first, which one must always do. When you trust enough your expressive self will emerge. You will seek Right Human Relations in all endeavors,
