Sadly, I cannot attend. LA is in California. Too many nuts, fruits and flakes in California, not enough pick up trucks, guns or Shiner Bock out there....

2002-04-11 10:32:07 AM

2002-04-11 10:33:24 AM

2002-04-11 10:37:09 AM
I think they mean Chevrolet Celebrity's
2002-04-11 10:38:15 AM
I want to see Jack Chick and CAP in a celebrity pudding death match. WOO HOO!
2002-04-11 10:38:18 AM
I might just hump it south for this one too. I will see how the SF one goes first. All you SF boys...let's put a hurt on Drew before he heads South!

2002-04-11 10:42:52 AM

Ok... I'll bite. Who are these "celebrities"?

Farking minds want to know!
2002-04-11 10:43:07 AM
Someone invite Christina Ricci and get her to eat a couple pizzas.
2002-04-11 10:49:49 AM

2002-04-11 10:53:50 AM
WHEN THE HELL ARE YOU ALL COMING TO WASH DC???? And is it always mostly guys who attend? Where are the women?
2002-04-11 11:07:48 AM
"Walking tour of Melrose / Hollywood, catch a seedy chic lounge act (locations are a many, TBD)"

As a resident, I must say - Melrose is so 80's... and Hollywood is, well... ahem...

Come over to my side of town - Vermont. You can see the infamous Marty and Elaine at the Dresden. Can anyone say 'Swingers?'
2002-04-11 11:09:21 AM
Shiner Bock?? I always hear how good that is and last time I was on a business trip someone wanted to bring them back a six pack. I still have not tried it. Should I?
2002-04-11 11:12:11 AM
ARGH!!! Finally a Fark party I could make it too, and one where I might get a chance to tel Wil how cool he is and I'm working freaking overtime! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
2002-04-11 11:12:49 AM
Yes. Shiner Bock is faboo.
2002-04-11 11:15:43 AM
Skaluv, I find that Shiner Bock used to be one of the most uneven beers around. Sometimes it was scrumshidiliicious, but most often it would be mediocre. Over the past five or six years, it seems to have gotten quality control in line, and has leveled out somewhere in between. I'd compare it to Dos Xs Amber, better than your average American swill, but nothing to write home about. It tastes like it has a high amount of corn adjunct to me, something I haven't confirmed. Bottom line: worth trying, but it's a regional brew, not a high-quality micro, if that's what you're expecting.

Skaluv: it's an aquired taste. Some people like it, some don't. I enjoy it and there is some in my fridge right now. Give it a shot.
2002-04-11 11:38:59 AM
When im in Austin visiting my friend down there i always drink the Shiners Bock.
2002-04-11 11:40:13 AM
Skaluv, Ice it down till it's good n cold, then start drinkin.

Ouroborus, Hotdog, JOHNDX, and all other Texas farkers..
When are we going to have a Fark party here? Heard a little rumour of one in Austin.
2002-04-11 11:46:07 AM
Shiner is the best beer in Texas. Not much to say other than that. Oh, yeah, and screw Austin, the Drew needs to stop in Houston!

Bad_Sin: I've heard the same rumor too. A little bird told me sometime in July I think, but I'm not sure if that is official yet. Also, since I'm not planning it (no way, no how), I'm not in the know.
2002-04-11 11:50:38 AM
Shiner Bock beer is definitely the one I keep stocked. It's probably the best thing ever to come out of Texas. Yum!
2002-04-11 11:55:27 AM
Shiner beer is brewed fresh in Shiner, Texas by people who know beer.

Dazed and Confused...was filmed in Texas...that's pretty good.
2002-04-11 11:58:45 AM
Boobies says it all
2002-04-11 12:00:09 PM
When're we gonna get a fark party in the boston area too?
2002-04-11 12:09:36 PM
I'm afraid that I must tell you all I will be unable to attend. I know that this will come as a disappointment to many of you, but I suggest that in order to remedy this, you merely beat yourselves regularly throughout the course of the evening with logic, style and wit.

Well, just toast and miss me then.
2002-04-11 12:13:19 PM
Its OK, Goatman, over here, we serve our beer cold. I dont know if y'all could handle a beer that isnt at room temperature.
2002-04-11 12:14:27 PM
hmmmmm......A Texas Fark B Q?

We have Austin, Houston, Dallas........any other nominations?
2002-04-11 12:21:28 PM
There's a saying down here:

Lone Star is for tourists, Shiner is for purists.

CarloSkippy said it best. It's not a high end micro, but a very good regional. It's gaining alot of attention, which is bad, so ya'll get away and leave my beer alone........;)
2002-04-11 12:27:56 PM

Here in LA, truer words never spoken.

Hotdog, I vote Austin. If we do it right then we can all travel down to the Salt Lick for an evening of barbeque and beer.
2002-04-11 12:35:16 PM
Sheepish: Of course I couldn't - I also prefer it to have flavour.
2002-04-11 12:39:59 PM
American beers taste like dried Chihuahua piss.
2002-04-11 12:50:48 PM
Goatman: have no fear. What our beers lack in flavour, is certainly made up by the fact that our 'pubs' stay open past 10 pm. What a bummer.
2002-04-11 12:51:58 PM
Ouroborus, Kick ass suggestion. For all that don't know of salt lick it is fun, all you can eat BBQ for a decent price and you can bring in your own ice chest of BEER.
2002-04-11 12:58:51 PM
Sheepish: Personally, I don't envy you for such. Beinging in an establishment and having to drink American "beer" is not attractive at the best of times, let alone for extended hours.
2002-04-11 01:04:35 PM
Mmmmm, Dried Chihuahua Piss. That'd be an import, right?
2002-04-11 01:05:14 PM
If you don't like American beer then don't farkin drink it... It's that simple..
2002-04-11 01:08:00 PM
Well, it seems that the simple solution is that you send me several cases of "good beer" and let me find out for myself... I think that I'll go look for the Fed Ex truck now.
2002-04-11 01:11:11 PM
Thumbs up to you Sheepish
2002-04-11 01:15:36 PM
Sounds like a really tight schedule there in LA, 1 hr to walk melrose and catch a seedy chic show and drinks before they have to be at the Wheaton show. I think grab a 6pack and drink it in the parking lot of the ACME before the wheaton show would be better. (maybe blow a dubie too)
2002-04-11 01:16:03 PM
shiat. I'll be out there NEXT Friday for the whole week.
2002-04-11 01:16:41 PM
Have no fear Bad_Sinfluence, I'll save a beer or two for ya.
