I've always liked Full Metal Jacket... this is about as funny as the Hartman soundset for Unreal Tournament... if you have the game and have any interest in hearing him taunt with the best of 'em, pick it up. Anyway, after the shameless plug... "That's not your daddy's shotgun!"

I think General Patton and Sgt. Hartman would've gotten along fine, except that Hartman's a Marine.

2002-04-11 01:30:49 PM
Chanle51, just what is says, someone from the high lands

2002-04-11 01:30:54 PM
Thanks Thermos - sounded like a SUV model to me - not sure what it really was.

I'm missing something, 9/10. Give Road Warrior's sister a try, riding the bus a try, or reading the article a try?

2002-04-11 01:41:37 PM
It doesn't have my favorite one on there.....

"I will gouge out your eyes and skullfark you!"

2002-04-11 01:41:37 PM
Bisinfiniti, give the article a try.

Can't say anything about Road Warrior's sister; don't know her.

2002-04-11 01:41:48 PM
Thermos: it's R. Lee Ermey.

2002-04-11 01:42:31 PM
Best. Link. Eve..... Today.

2002-04-11 01:42:41 PM
Baconfarker: Thanks, I enjoyed that. The crank phone calls are the great

2002-04-11 01:42:55 PM
How could they leave out the skullfark line? Unforgivable. And I'm also fond of the obstacle scene. "I bet you could get to the top if there was some p*ssy up there!" "If God wanted you at the top of that obstacle, he woulda miracled your ass up there!" (I find I can use variation on the latter in a wide variety of circumstances.)

2002-04-11 02:44:14 PM
Fascinating fact about how he was cast for the part (from IMDB.com):

Former US Marines Drill Instructor R. Lee Ermey was hired as a consultant on how to drill USMC style. He performed a demonstration on videotape in which he yelled obscene insults and abuse non-stop for fifteen minutes without stopping, repeating himself, or even flinching - despite being continuously pelted with tennis balls and oranges. Director Stanley Kubrick was so impressed that he cast Ermey as Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann.

2002-04-11 02:46:35 PM
R. Lee Ermey

2002-04-11 02:47:23 PM
www.rleeermey.com

Tried to put that in the post above, sorry!

2002-04-11 02:55:06 PM
That movie came out on a Friday and I started basic training the following Tuesday AND we were our drill Sgt's last squadron before he went back to his regular job. To say he was motivated is a gross understatement.

2002-04-11 03:03:04 PM
Or they could have watched him do the exact same type of
role a few years earlier in "The Boys In Company C".

2002-04-11 03:14:07 PM
Thanks for the samuel l jackson soundboard! Hilarious!

DOES HE LOOK LIKE A biatch!?!?!?
