Boo hoo. Too bad old Ed didn't kick the bucket along with that nasty mutt.

Inadvertantly funniest headline ever. (Sad, too, I guess).

Am I the only one to think of Ed doing those Alpo commericals in the 70's and 80's when I read this headline?

I hope he wins. This just goes to show that no matter HOW MUCH money you have, the insurance company won't hesitate to screw you over.

I had no clue Ed McMahon was still alive.

"It names Scottsdale, Arizona-based American Equity Insurance Co., a unit of Citigroup Inc. as a plaintiff as well as several Southern California contractors who had been hired to clean up the mold."

Call me crazy, but wouldn't the people that Ed McMahon is suing for $20 million be called the "defendants"?

2002-04-11 10:33:13 AM

i'm sure that i'm as bewildered as all the other fark'rs who submitted the Smoking Gun doc of the day link yesterday. it had MUCH better explinations... the whole story. are the Mod's taking payola or WHAT?!

also, American Equity is the insurance company McMahon reps on TV... i think.

Kylie those Dunleith Apts are riddled with this crap. I've had a sinus infection for about 4 months now - I'm getting the hell out of there. You can see it all along the baseboards by the AC unit - which leaks water.

Cats have shiat in their nostrils too. Apt managers quickly sent someone up to paint over it when I called about it. Wish I would have taken pics first. Heck I could probably put together a pretty good lawsuit and score some cash!

Ed McMahon has to sue.

Where do you think he gets his Publisher's clearinghouse Prize money?

"YYYYYYYYYYESSSSS"

2002-04-11 11:04:12 AM
Ed is a greedy asshole, shame about the dog though

2002-04-11 11:10:07 AM
Zzeuss: YUCK! Call the health department or something! Then sue! :)

2002-04-11 11:56:37 AM
Ed's not a greedy asshole. Farmers Insurance is getting sued over the same thing. (www.screwedbyinsurance.com)

The companies are going to take their chances with a lawsuit rather than admit their policies aren't set up to cover this kind of thing.

The companies haven't remotely figured out how to deal with this yet so people suffer while they try to pull their head out their ass.

former claim rep gets off soapbox now.

That's gotta suck.

HOW TOXIC WAS IT?

Anybody know what kind of dog Ed had? Something tells me Muffin is not the name of a Doberman.

Shih-tzu?

2002-04-11 01:16:42 PM
Sucker. I had this happen at my house too. Cost the insurance company $25,000. And they still haven't given me back my shiat either. I want my damn tools, bastards.

Future testimony:

Defense attorney: And so are you telling us, Mr. McMahon, that the mold KILLED your dog?

Ed: You are correct, sir.

Defense attorney: What was your reaction?

Ed: HIYOOOOOOO!

The Toxic Avenger killed his dog?
I'd throw Ed Ames' tomahawk at him.

"What started out as a simple plumbing leak ended up a horrific nightmare only Steven King could write about," McMahon's lawyer Allan Browne told Reuters.

So did Ed bury Muffin in an old, creepy, Indian semetary (misspelled on purpose), and, if so, did he get his dog back?

2002-04-11 03:26:54 PM
That's odd. Youth culture killed MY dog.

2002-04-11 04:10:52 PM
Actually Stephen King did write about killer mold. "Gray Matter" I think it was called.

It's all his fault.

I reviewed this kind of stuff in my environmental law class. It is pretty deadly shiat in some cases. Entire buildings have to be gutted sometimes due to this kind of fungus. If this is in your house or building and you are not sure, you should talk to a laboratory about getting the mold tested. Definitely not something to mess around with.

Here in Reno, there are bunches of familiese suing various builders for toxic mold spores. I feel bad for these people. They sink their life savings into buying a home, only to have to deal with all the bullshiat of sickness, insurance hassles. I hope Ed makes that insurance company BEND OVER!!!
