My son used to date this gal. She's a student at Juliard
(unbelievable voice) and had to come home to MS. to get shot...by a female atty....who ran into her car. Reason for the shots? Dumbass atty had no insurance for her Jag. and was pissed off that she (the victim) would DARE ask about insurance.

I guess lawyers have their own special Darwin. Feed her to the tortoises............

That article is one of the more poorly written pieces I've seen in a long while. I think the writer got his/her journalism degree from a mail-in offer on a box of Kix. I had a hard time following everything, and I'm relatively sober this morning.

Classic. About five years ago I was rear ended at about 40 mph by a woman on a.......take a guess.....CELL PHONE!, then she gets out and tries to blame me for stopping. Then she gets on the phone again to hubby trying to blame me and he's biatchin (judging by her reaction to him) about her always being on her phone. Then the cops come and she tells him I BACKED INTO HER! WTF? She changed her story fast when the cop shot holes all in her story. Then I find out that the stupid c**t is a local high school teacher. hahahaha

"Smith and Clark were later stopped and arrested by officers.

They have been free on $200,000 bond."

Yet the lady who was running a prostitution ring is held on $1 billion dollars bail ? Jeebus, maybe the prostitute lady should lower her bail by winging th judge with a BB gun.

I swear, our judicial system makes no sense. Why someone who shares files over the net, or possesses a small amount of pot would potentially serve more time than a murderer, I dunno.

CindiBear

I agree. She's a Jackson family lawyer? Which Jacksons? Michael? Did he move to Mississippi? I knew he was leaving the country, so I guess that counts.

Is now a good time to tell you that bail money != time served?

A trivial detail, but the Clarion-Ledger is out of Jackson, not Vicksburg.

2005-06-25 11:10:29 AM
The victim then lost the lawsuit, and moved on to work at her crap attorney's office, where she discovered a water scandal.

And I think that "Jackson family lawyer" means "A lawyer in Jackson, MS, specializing in family law." Though I could have misunderstood...

the proper form of redress for a Mississippi gal is to put her panties back on before getting out of the car. Without her dad having to remind her.

And I think that "Jackson family lawyer" means "A lawyer in Jackson, MS, specializing in family law."

Oh, I know . . . although it took me a couple of readings to figure that out.

The second linked article was much more informative and clear.

Squirrely thing about this story is that part of town is supposed to be the safe part of the Jeckson metro.
And for those of you mocking Mississippi, you wouldn't believe how many super-educated people live within just a couple of miles of the incident site.

And it happened right down the street from my house!

Bail isn't set based on how bad the crime you're accused of was. It's based more on the reasonable suspicion that you'd flee instead of face the charges. It seems reasonable to me that someone who runs a prostitution ring, who likely has a good deal of disposable cash and connections throughout the States and in Asia, would be much more likely to flee than a couple of idiot lawyers.

And this is the reason I don't eat at Krystal on County Line Road (where this happened)...

Although, why would someone who can afford a Jag be eating at a place that sells micro-hamburgers on dinner rolls?

skinink: They have been free on $200,000 bond."

The original bond was set at $5000! until everybody went beserk and threatened to unseat the judge. How bad is that!
