BojanglesPaladin A conviction is a conviction. Was he broke when he went to jail?

The courts believed him.
At least no one else ever will again.

Wytchocolate

When silicon valley white boys riot, they all launch a DDOS flood attack with their PDA phones.

But seriously: Is that a genuine MJ verdict related photo?

'Cause I searched for news of riots (I need a new guitar) and couldn't find any happening anywhere.

He's probably just a freak but not a child molester, and being famous certainly can't hurt. Besides, CA is afraid to hold a high profile black man accountable for his actions since Rodney King. Less costly to just let them walk.

2005-06-13 07:22:11 PM
Excellent. It was so very clearly a shakedown.

Interesting stuff Lars. I've been there, especially the homeless guy thing.

Personally I feel like MJ probably did things with children that he shouldn't of. However, my personal feelings aside, I didn't sit on the jury and hear the weeks and weeks of testimony. It's really easy for everyone to jump on the 'guilty' bandwagon based only on what we're told by the media. Having served on a jury, even though my heart didn't agree with our verdict, the law was the law. Every single one of those jurors could have thought MJ was guilty as sin, but the law is very specific as to how a jury comes to a decision.

kenny....TWO famous people out of how many? hundreds. Tyson? he was flat broke when he finally got convicted. BJPaladin nailed it. occasionally it is decided (Martha Stewart) that an example needs to be made, but sometimes (Rick James) they truly are guilty.

How about the Enron farkers? more rich bastards running free simply because they could afford the sharkie legal council to get the charges dropped.

you think I'm wrong? go out and molest some boy and see if you get away with it. go kill someone and see if you end up being OJ or Peterson. Without the insane amounts of money that these celebrities have, you're farked.

The prosecution had a very weak case.

BojanglesPaladin:

Nope. Mike got off on quite a few rape/battery charges before he finally got nailed. He eventually got convicted and went to jail. But only after he had gotten in trouble so many times that he had used up all his credit.

Yeah. And as for Michael Jackson, no one had ever heard of previous child molestation allegations against him. Oh wait, the jury did. How many molestation allegations is a rape allegation worth anyway? Please tell me so I know how to calculate the credit someone has.

I think some of you need to take a step back and re-evaluate the facts about this man before accusing California of letting another guilty celeb go free. He's guilty of being a complete cup cake that I would not let my own fictitious children near, but I think the family could be the guilty, money thirsty ones in this scenario.

Good points in your post but most of us think that the 2 sides guilt are not mutually exclusive. Yes the parents set their son up W Michael knowing his history and probably looking for the payday, I think thats absolutely true. But I also believe MJ took the bait they dangled knowing beforehand that their shady past would make them look as suspect as they did on the stand if things came to the point that they did.

In short many of us think the whole lot of adults in this case should rot in jail and/or be tortured to death, and the kid should be humanely killed to prevent the trainwreck of a man he will become because of this.

You're right, but that doesn't make you feel better, does it?

/does believe Jackson is several bars short of a gold record
//also believes there is reason enough to believe the people testifying against him were after his money
///when he's acquitted by a jury which had all the information in the case, he should be considered not guilty, otherwise you don't have a justice system left
////if he was acquitted while guilty the victims suffer twice
/////doesn't have enough left for a fifth line of /s

2005-06-13 07:31:19 PM
I'm just glad none of you people were on the jury... you've all decided on his guilt just because he's a bit loopy.
I was never a fan of his, nor will I ever be... but at least I can give him the benefit of the doubt rather than being a judgemental prick.

spleef420: TWO famous people out of how many? hundreds.

I didn't see you list "hundreds" of famous people who managed to dodge a conviction.

If you want someone else, though ... here ya go:

At a minimum, he had enough money to buy all those drugs.

but sometimes (Rick James) they truly are guilty

Er wait ... did I miss something? Are you implying that you don't think Michael Jackson is "truly guilty"?

How about the Enron farkers?

They should be deep fried if you ask me, but I haven't kept up on those proceedings.

Somewhere in your profile it alludes to not taking yourself so seriously. You're now outright daring me to go molest kids? Geez man, chill... It's only Fark for crying out loud, and all I'm doing here is yanking your tail.

Sorry mods, (My first deletion!) I figured I was on topic by discussing the fact that this isn't actually news, but in fact a diversion, or at the very best a form of entertainment for people who think they're watching real news. Discuss the subject, but not the discussion please, aight, got it.

I'll hedge my bets either way this time around and go on the record as saying: Once you go black, you never...oh wait...how about "once you go white, you know you're alright"?

spleef420: you think I'm wrong? go out and molest some boy and see if you get away with it.

Or, like Michael Jackson, you could go out and not molest someone, and then be prosecuted for it. Then when the prosecution fails to present any evidence (because there is none, just like in the Jackson case), we'll see if you're convicted.

ONLY IN CALIFORNIA, MURDERS AND MOLESTERS WALK!

Only the Black murderes and molesters.

In other places, it's the white murderers, molesters, and rapists who walk. Especially the South. Especially if the victims were black.

Haha teh winnar. Ya know what is soo funny. I know that some in white america would be extremely pissed if MJ was found not guilty. They already didn't get OJ, the Kobe trial didn't go to court, so there's no way they wanted a 3rd negro to get off. Man the next black celeb better think twice before doing a crime b/c he'll probably get shot before going to trial LOL.

Not saying it's right but hey it's karma. Just like all those 'good ol boys' got off for killing those 2 white men and black man back in Mississippi during the Civil Rights Era what goes around comes around in terms of justice or perceived non-justice. Of course one of those old KKK fools is getting his day in court though at his age he may just poop and keel over before the trial gets done. Hopefully Satan has a nice seat in hell for that moron.

For the record I hate molesters, sex offenders as I have 2 young nieces as well and it makes me shudder to think of what someone may want to do to them and b/c I think that cra is just wrong and nasty period. Of course if my nieces missing (don't want to think about it) then it wouldn't a be story b/c my family is teh black. Fark the media and certain bad leftover aspects of this country.

Hmmphh.. a repeat of the OJ case. if you got money, you can walk a free man. Isn't jackson just about broke now? He's either going to be homeless once his accountant catches up with him, or just one more molestion case and he won't have the funds to hire a lawyer. He's gonna go down EVENTUALLY!

2005-06-13 07:37:30 PM
Shoot, man. Now all of those weirdos who've been hovering outside the courthouse since the beginning will all be smug.

I hate me a smug freaky pedophile lover.

2005-06-13 07:37:34 PM
Do I think He did it? Yes. Do I think reasonable doubt was made? Yes. The verdict on the molestation was the right verdict but I think it was unquestionable he was guilty of supplying alcohol to a minor

2005-06-13 07:37:48 PM
Then when the prosecution fails to present any evidence (because there is none, just like in the Jackson case).

Hey, smart guy...testimony from the kid that he got molested by Michael Jackson IS evidence. Testimony from a security guard who saw MJ perform oral sex on the kid IS evidence.

Yeah. And as for Michael Jackson, no one had ever heard of previous child molestation allegations against him. Oh wait, the jury did. How many molestation allegations is a rape allegation worth anyway? Please tell me so I know how to calculate the credit someone has.

Jackson used his credit more wisely by shopping around for bargain basement victims. Tyson spent his recklessly by raping whatever came to hand. Blake also shopped carefully knowing his rough image made his account shorter. OJ just lucked into a bank error when they assigned a racist as his collection officer.

2005-06-13 07:39:06 PM
All these people saying he is a freak ....Jackson is a scum.... Wacko Jacko... He's weird!

Hey folks ... you know what's Weird ... that we have an ex alcoholic and military deserter as a president ... who was in charge during 9/11 and has sent too many of our country men to their deaths in a war he dreamed up in his head!!!

Now that is truly weird!!!!!! Hey ....hell with priorities.

There was also plenty of evidence that the jury was not privy to. I seem to recall a late night vasaline call with MJ, a small boy in his bedrom and a raging boner.

But the defense team (as a good defense team should) kept that from going in front of the jury.

It's very simple. In a criminal case, a jury must believe beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty. Not that he is probably guilty, mostly guilty, or anything even the least bit short of guilty without a doubt.

And any defense team worth what MJ can pay can muddy the waters, limit evidence, dredge up past history, damage credibility, and all sorts of other things that make it nearly impossible for even the most reasonable person to say that they had no doubt about his guilt.

That is how the system is SUPPOSED to work. MJ got off because that is the trade - off we make for having a system that tries not to wrongly convict. We do this by placing the burdon of proof entirely on the prosecution. The Prosecution must PROVE BEYOND A DOUBT that MJ was guilty. And that is a very hard thing to do.

BUt it is worth noting:

The defense at no time proved Michael Jackson to be INNOCENT beyond a reasonable doubt.

They don't have to. ALL they have to do is create some doubt.

2005-06-13 07:40:53 PM
Maybe it's just me, but if someone accuses me of something that I didn't do and I am exonerated, I would not willingly then put myself in a position in the future to be accused of a similar act. In fact I would go to lengths to make it so that no one could accuse me of something similar, especially if it was child molestation.

2005-06-13 07:41:17 PM
Of course you know how to tell he really was guilty? The Greatest sign of guilt was when the Rev. Dr. Jessie Jackson showed up on his side.

That's actually a good test. If you can't tell if someone's guilty or not, look for Jessie Jackson. If Jessie's there, I'd say there's at least a 90% chance the person is not only guilty, but a scumbag. Same test also works with Al Sharpton.

(Ducking impending flames and going home)

It's only Fark for crying out loud, and all I'm doing here is yanking your tail.

do not taunt the dynamite monkey.

Downey? you're joking right? he was caught red-handed...obvious guilt, no amount of money could have said otherwise. The point is that this is the second time MJ's been accused of this...first time he paid them off (much the same as pleading the "fif") this screams guilt, IMO. The second time there were laws in place preventing that from occuring again. I'm not saying he's guilty or not guilty (he sure as shiat ain't "innocent") I'm saying he's got the cash to keep his asshole virgin for many more years.

I'm still waiting for the "magic bullet".
