This was done by the Morning Mess on RadioNow. Or as it's known around here "Radio for Idiots". They play nothing but pure crap 24/7.

2005-06-10 11:43:24 PM
And I thought the Hoosier Gazette was closing down. The station must have a Baltimorean on the staff.

2005-06-11 12:44:42 AM
Hope they used Mayflower trucks for authenticity sake.

2005-06-11 02:26:00 AM
This in poor taste "stunt" also had really poor timing. Before the new stadium deal was announced perhaps it might have been a bit more relevant, but seeing as we are well on the way to financing the new stadium, it seems like it was someone's stupid after thought.

Dumbasses.

2005-06-11 03:02:11 AM
Agreed, tedkerwin.

Irsay's dead, but I'll hate Mayflower forever.

Heh, heh, heh. Now THAT'S a good radio stunt. Usually, they just do lame-ass shiat. But this one was pretty insightful.

2005-06-11 03:05:23 AM
How can they be parked if they are moving?

2005-06-11 03:05:42 AM
How is it a moving truck if it's parked?

2005-06-11 03:09:14 AM
THAT is some funny ass shiat.

God, that is great. Wish I'd thought of it.

HEY! You with the truck! Whadya doin'? Oh, okay.

/Indianapolosians have no sense of humor.

2005-06-11 03:33:37 AM
Well fark you too, bostonowns. The Mannings may not have won any championships combined, but they're veritable winners in life compared to you.

2005-06-11 03:34:52 AM
What? Aren't they still in Baltimore?

2005-06-11 03:36:37 AM
Does the quote at the bottom say people should turn their station to another radio? Or have I gone dyslexic again?

2005-06-11 03:40:35 AM
I am glad to see yet another thriving metropolis using public funding to build a giant new stadium for a multi-million dollar privately owned sports team. New York won't pony up. New Orleans refuses to pony up.
Corporate welfare.

2005-06-11 03:41:16 AM
It really was and I encourage all Colts fans to turn their station to another radio.

Am I dyslexic, or is that backwards? I'll call my local scientology office and schedule an appointment just to be safe.

2005-06-11 03:53:15 AM
SAVE THE 'TOPES !!!

2005-06-11 03:55:09 AM
This is as funny was the time our local radio station said that the air force was going to bomb the local walk bridge (That was going to be removed) and observation locations would be setup. The town idiots took this seriously.

2005-06-11 04:13:59 AM
HA.. I just got back from the bar and people were talking about it (I'm in Indianapolis). I guess everyone hasn't gotten word that its a hoax yet.

Aule reporting from Indianapolis:

The only reason we are not laughing here is that we found out it wasn't true. You all would not believe the quiet rumblings coming from the majority of taxpayers here in our fair little town. While Governor Mitch and Mayor Bart Sing praises of the golden opportunities a pro football team brings, they extort what I garon-farking-tee will be over $1,000,000,000 from Indy and the surrounding 9 counties. We can't give our teachers raises or pave the potholes. The majority of the taxes is to come from a 2% charge on ALL bars and restaurants in central Indiana. This includes every mom&pop greasy-spoon and MickyFarkingDee in a 9-county area. This makes Ronald McDonald cry. I will have to pay over ONE DOLLAR for a White Castle hamburger! We (taxpaying hicks) would like to ship the Irsays back east, but that will never happen with the pocket-lining going on Downtown.

Ohhhhh My head Asplode

2005-06-11 04:25:45 AM
<- Indianapolisian or "Hoosier". Most of us don't have a sense of humor, I deal with them at work constantly. I'm one of the few that do, but when I hear stunts like this on the radio going on, I just know there's going to be some sort of lawsuit or activist rally within the week. *sigh* Go Hoosiers! Oh, and Peyton is the best farkin quaterback in the league right now.

2005-06-11 04:48:56 AM
It wouldn't be the first time the colts up and left a city in the middle of the night.

/Baltimore-ean
//Too young to remember the colts
///was told stories.

2005-06-11 05:13:42 AM
See if this joke was pulled on the Ravens here in Baltimore, the radio station would be burned down and hilarity would surely ensue.

2005-06-11 05:18:58 AM
All right, if someone says "hilarity ensues" one more time...

2005-06-11 05:39:40 AM
apocalyptic

Um... hilarity will ensue?

2005-06-11 05:43:58 AM
News 8 contacted the Colts organization and they confirmed, no one is moving anywhere.

Here, let me correct that for you.

News 8 contacted the Colts organization and they confirmed, no one is moving anywhere... for now.

Much better.

2005-06-11 05:55:07 AM
hahhah.. ah.. ha.. uh. ?

2005-06-11 06:37:52 AM
While I generally detest how the financing for these sorts of things happens, the money it brings in is usually worth it. Let the Colts go and watch how many jobs go along with them..

/sad but true.

2005-06-11 07:31:47 AM
Let them go. They can take Bart and Mitch with them to Baltimore.

2005-06-11 07:54:01 AM
While I generally disagree with public funding for stadiums, in the case of the new Colts stadium I agree. Tearing down the (piece of shiate) RCA Dome will allow the city to double the size of the convention center. The long term economic impact of that will be far greater than the cost of building the new stadium a few blocks away.

/just sayin'
//this stunt had my coworkers all worked up

2005-06-11 08:05:12 AM
Hey, regardless for my dislike for radio DJ's, I think this one funny ass stunt.

2005-06-11 09:11:01 AM
Amen Aule

They are pulling this crap in DC now, schools falling apart, but the gov't wants to pay 600 million plus to build a new stadium. Kudos to cities that don't put up w/ extortion.

2005-06-11 09:19:04 AM
Hoosiers. Funny people.

2005-06-11 09:21:15 AM
Of course if Peyton was driving one of those trucks to LA they would only make it as far a Barstow, Peyton always falls just short of his goals

2005-06-11 09:39:09 AM
I'll bet those Colt fans were all shook up..

2005-06-11 09:52:17 AM
tedkerwin Of course if Peyton was driving one of those trucks to LA they would only make it as far a Barstow, Peyton always falls just short of his goals

payton manning is the colin montgomery of the nfl--you can tell a game isn't important if he performs well in it.

/must still dream about having his ass handed to him by the gators every year in college.
//then he wakes up, and the gators are wearing patriot uniforms.

2005-06-11 11:13:23 AM
Wow, I live near Indianapolis and I've never even heard of that radio station...

2005-06-11 11:51:42 AM
deeoh1:

I agree. If the deal was JUST to build the Colts a new stadium, I would have been one of the people opposing the plan. However, I think that the city could use the revenue that an expanded convention center would bring in, which is the flip-side (and beneficial one) that no one ever talks about.

jccalhoun:

Count your blessings. Indianapolis has the most God-awful radio selection in the world at this time. We have no oldies station and RadioNow replaced the 80s station.

2005-06-11 11:56:46 AM
my grandfather drew the mayflower truck logo

2005-06-11 12:02:46 PM
jackrazz:

Depending on what you define as "oldies", you might want to try 101.9 - 70's and 80's stuff. Some crap, but they play some great, obscure stuff as well.

2005-06-11 12:24:33 PM
How do you park a moving truck? It's moving, for christ sake!

2005-06-11 12:39:59 PM
OMG I need to move to Indianapolis and tune my radio to this station! That is so funny and classic that I have no other option but to listen!

2005-06-11 12:42:55 PM
deeoh1:

I was actually referring to stuff from the 60s, which is what 104.5 played before it became "The New JACK." Whoopee.

/still sings along whenever the Beach Boys are on the airwaves.

2005-06-11 01:03:36 PM
Yeah, it's my home state of at it again.

2005-06-11 01:29:42 PM
Was it the X or the New Jack FM? "identical station in Dallas!" I miss Indy too much. Indiana needs it's own "florida" tag.

2005-06-11 02:03:28 PM
A few years ago here in Seattle a local radio station said that pearljam was doing a free concert at a local park n ride for charity. it was april fools day Go figure why nobody realized. but they had traffic backed up for like six hours.
I thought it was funny
