Anyone see the Avalanche-Stars game the other night when Roy got thrown out after the penalty shot. So farking funny.

"LaBarbera had been removed from the East Coast Hockey League Northern Division playoff game against the Boardwalk Bullies in the second period after allowing five goals on 17 shots."

Wow..that kid really stunk up the ice. No wonder he threw it

What a jerk-ass goalie.

Hey Total Farkers I think ya'll should show us a few of the good articles here on this boring ass sunday.
2002-04-07 02:42:33 PM
This story seriously deteriorates towards the end:

"The newspaper reported several police officers escorted LaBarbera from the bench to the dressing room for questioning moments after the stick struck the boy."

Then this:

"Bullies general manager Matt Loughran had a heated exchange with Charlotte coach Don MacAdam, and the two men shoved at each other.

"Matt Loughran tried to get (LaBarbera) arrested," MacAdam told the newspaper. "I said to him, 'What's happening? This is just an accident."'

Hey, let's get the FBI involved while we're at it..Jeez-o-pete

At least it wasnt an inoperable and obsolete water cooled machine gun.

Another tragic hockey accident involving injury to a child. When will we have hockey control, people? Think of the children!

"When did Hockey become such a violent sport," I wonder to myself sarcastically, "Hmmm!"

AAAAAaaarrrrgh. Enough with the farking Stars.

But that leads me to a question... and I can't seem to find an answer on the net. With the points awarded for OT losses, what is the current order of tie breaking rules for playoff positions?

(I just know it's gonna be stinkin' Dallas that puts the Oilers out again... and this time it won't even be while plalying them)

...I'm getting bitter.

Actually puck related injuries are fairly common in hockey and they always have been. Pucks fly into the stands on a semi-regular basis, and a lot of European leagues have implemented safety netting. They've just been lucky no one but that girl was ever killed.
2002-04-07 02:58:59 PM
we have to stop this madness
2002-04-07 02:59:49 PM
The boy was taken to Atlantic City Medical Center, where he needed up to five stitches

Five stitches? I have to agree with LunaticFringe.

Can someone answer my question? I honestly want to find an answer. suck btw.

The actual story for this thread seems nothing but an accident. Mind you, it did involve the Bullies. Isn't that a rather moronic name for minor hockey league team?

This is the stupidest, most pointless story, i've ever seen on fark. Who cares? People get hurt in hockey, deal with it

Prock, normally players get injured, not fans. And normally not from a goalie throwing his stick into the player box.

It was the Avelanche - Coyotes game. I was there right on the glass. You should have heard that temper tantrum he threw. Hockey goalies are becoming such primadonas
2002-04-07 03:20:01 PM
Point of my argument---is who cares?
2002-04-07 03:50:03 PM
That's it, HR. Man, I laughed my ass off.

Patric Roy is such a crybaby too, whenever he gets 3 goals against him he starts pouting gets a temper and becomes useless.

4 straight Stanley Cups, 19 straight series wins!

The best Patrick Roy tantrum was when he gave up like 10 goals his last game in Montreal. He had been fighting with management and he stunk up the joint in this game but the coach refused to pull him. I think like the very next day they traded him to Colorado.
2002-04-07 04:29:19 PM
Elwood: yup. the very next day he was in Colorado. Did anyone see his fight with Hasek at the Red Wings a couple of nights before? That was almost as classic as the Roy Osgood fight.

Alright, I'm a loser, I don't watch hockey much, and my home team isn't any good, but since the article is about the ECHL, here's my two cents:

2002-04-07 11:27:05 PM
I wonder if I'm the only one here who has actually watched a Boardwalk Bullies game in Atlantic City.
2002-04-08 11:08:30 AM
damn, yet another one who gives us goalies a bad name!!!!!!

Zero tolerance.

"All fans attending Hockey games must now wear protective headgear, for their own safety."
