Ah screw personal responsibility and intergrity, break your word for fun a profit and justify is however works for you. Soon we'll all be eating babies or something :P

Seriously, I think the victim gota little too pissed off about the incident, on the otherhand, they wen't thogh mediation and agreed to not press charges based on a contract ensuring among other things, not to discuss it again.

So isn't that grounds for some sort of civil suit now?

Peaceful Solutions, meh. If everyone just talks it will be ok is a nice idea on paper. Except you can teach kids that they can always talk their way out of taking responsibility for their actions. and obviously they don't feel responsible. (even if it just a silly lawn ornament thing)

Silly hick euphorians.

Hillcrest is actually a private Christian school in Fergus. Just the type of place to find a good farker.

The Larch
MTV has jumped the shark more often than Saturday Night Live.

You can only jump the shark once.

InflatableJesus: You can only jump the shark once.

But my rules, any individual generation can only point at one place where a show "jumped." But, a show like SNL that's been on 30 years can jump again, and again, and again, each time for a whole new generation of viewers.

It's just that a show like SNL, which attracts the 15 to 25 crowd can really only jump every 8 to 10 years. MTV, with its 12 to 17 demographic, can jump every 4 to 5 years.

I love how everyone is talking about how everybody needs to lighten up. If somebody came into your yard and screwed up stuff that you'd taken time and effort (however little or much) to put together, you'd be pissed, too.

I think trying to stop a reenactment may be a bit much, but anger over the incident itself is certainly understandable.

I'd also just like to point out that if this had happened to, say, a family celebrating a Muslim holiday, you'd have a bunch of liberals talking about "hate crime" and stuff. Also, these people had (assuming these were nativity scenes) religious symbols disrespected.

I don't remember anybody here burning down anything because of this.

what the hell? if MTV gets thrown out of this town, why not go to the other 190,203 other towns that have this exact same thing done every christmas by drunk kids?

The whole "ya" thing is German. There were a lot of German settlers in the MN/Dakota area and I'm pretty sure that's where it comes from. Plus there's Norweigan influence too, I'm sure.
I still say things like "ja ja gute" and "das gute." I also say "ufta." Although you only say "ufta" in place of a sigh or if you've just done hard work or something. I've heard it on tv in VERY inappropriate places. I'm not sure if this is right or not, but a Norweigan exchange student told me it's a slang word for shiat in some language.
###########################################################

(h)uffda is Norwegian slang. And it dosen't mean shiat. It has several uses, most general it means "that bad..."

Note the dots. Huffda is always followed by silence, to let it sink in.

I also think that the "ja" comes from Scandinavians. Because
the germans settled over a much larger area, but still they only say "ja" in the areas where Scandinavians settled. The thing is that in these areas 95% of the people were either german, dutch, norwegian, swedish and danish. All of which use the word "ja" for "yes".

Of course I would. Except that I don't put stupid stuff in my yard so it's a non-starter.

Still, they're overreacting just a tad. To borrow the phrase above that so perfectly summed it up: it's not like MTV is planning on anally raping their mothers while pouring sugar in their gas tanks.

OTOH if MTV made a show where people's mothers it's not got raped anally while the perps poured sugar into gas tanks, I would Tivo it.

Ahhh, good to see that other city folk are tired of defending their city from the stereotypes of its state.

Htown: Also, these people had (assuming these were nativity scenes) religious symbols disrespected.

I'm pretty sure these were reindeer stacked on top of each other to make them look like they were having reindeer sex. I'll admit that santa's reindeer take on a mystical, religous quality... to a five year old. Otherwise, meh.

Have fun recreating a not-very-funny, not-very-original Christmas prank guys, in July no less. If Fergus really won't let you do it, try a few miles down the road, in Sauk Center. I'm pretty sure most of Sauk Center's pointless outrage is still directed at the commie who put them on the map, Sinclair Lewis. They probably haven't even heard of MTV yet...

"Probably those damn Hillcrest kids. The Norskies are the worst of the lot."

I saw this morning that the HCLA '05 on the train bridge was painted over with a FFHS '05.

"Wow. My home town makes the news.

/Reminded again of the reasons I moved."

Othium I thought you moved to get farked more often?
