I've been veg for many years, mostly because i never liked meat...then i got food poisoning in 6th grade and that was really the end of my carnivore days. my attitude is it works for me, but i wont impose my beliefs upon anyone else. PETA are terrorists, running around throwing paint on fur coats (the animals are already dead and throwing paint on the coat just renders their death completely in vain). Anyway, I am very non-militant. However, when BK pulls shiat like this it pisses me off. If a "vegetarian" burger is cooked in meat juice, it's no longer vegetarian. It's deceptive advertising. I'm not vegan, but part of my form of vegetarinism (Octo-Lavo) includes not eating beef or chicken (including juices). I don't want a beef-juicy "veggie" burger.

It's good to see some voices of reason here. Now if Burger King would provide a plant-free menu selection for those of us who believe in plant rights, I would eat there.

BTW - I'd like to add a little test here for 1-Omnivoires, 2-Vegitarians & 3-Vegans [to test their resolve]. You are in a place with no food and you find a box with a steak in it - do you eat it? [and for the Omnis - do you care if it's cat/dog/hamster etc ?]

A friend of mine has a favorite saying - "I'll eat anything that doesn't eat me first!" [we're both Omni's & hungry to boot at the moment ]

04-06-02 05:08:02 PM Eirekellt

i'll show my ignorance. there are really "forms" of vegetarianism?

2002-04-06 05:14:55 PM
I swear to god I once talked with someone who said that humans were not designed to eat meat.

2002-04-06 05:16:01 PM
Up until recently, our local Burger place was called "Murder Burger"... I wish they hadn't changed the name to the less-cool "RedRum Burger"...

2002-04-06 05:16:11 PM
Muckk: I would eat my dead father's balls if I had to do it to live.

"You are in a place with no food and you find a box with a steak in it - do you eat it? [and for the Omnis - do you care if it's cat/dog/hamster etc ?]"

How do you get a cat "steak" let alone one from a hamster?

A funny thing about this crazy vegan woman...had the patty been cooked without contamination she STILL would have eaten animal products. The bun contains milk and/or dairy derivatives. It is NOT a vegan
product.

THANK GOD SHE DIDN'T EAT IT!!!

2002-04-06 05:20:41 PM
Save a plant, eat a cow!
I want meat and I want it now!
I'm gonna eat it cuz its red!
I'm gonna eat it cuz its dead!

Maybe I should eat it raw --
Let the blood run down my jaw.
I'd eat people if it was legal!
I'd eat people if it was legal!

2002-04-06 05:20:45 PM
What really pisses me off is that these wackaloons at Burger King are now cooking my meaty burger on the same grill as these "veggie burgers," tainting it with the juices of blasphemy.

2002-04-06 05:23:22 PM
yeah bitplayer - vegan, ovo-lacto, and another type i cant remember. vegans eat NO animal products - it's really impossible. ovo-lacto means you'll eat some milk products and eggs. some people only avoid red meat, some people red meat & poultry but will eat fish, and so on.

ok, addendum, I have realized after rereading the posts here tha Vegatarians need to take teh cork out of their butts and turn down teh anal retentivness meter
for example I too hate tomatoes, and I dont throw a hissy over finding one on my burger, I just remove it and offer it to someone else in the group im with, and I hate lemons in my Tea, but I dont scream at the Hooters girl for putting them in my Tea, I just take it out and set it aside, (althoughone time I did take the lemon and throw it at the waitress's head, but tha was just day I was annoyed by external stuff)
I also love the way they refer to the nasty veggy paste as being Contaminated , lol,. it s like theyre talking about Farking radaiation, it seems to me that Vegetarians are just a group of immature diners who cannot accept a persons Dietary habits as being something indignifigant, its almost like the people who hate black folks just because theyre black, even though it has nothing to do with their personality, they hate them, just like Vegetarians hate omnivores and Carnivores,
I rember a Vegetarian girl in Highschool who advocated killing all Carnivores, not realizing the her beloved cat and dog were carnovores, oh well Ive rambled enough for now
Vootie,
btw Im gonna get a rare steak at dinner to nith and publically dedicate it to all the poor undernourished veggie heads out there,

2002-04-06 05:25:40 PM
Hey I'd eat a Vegetarian Burger. It's probably illegal though...

Bitplayer

Actually I'm sure there is evidence of vegan longetivity (at least vegetarians, there are more vegetarian studies for obvious reasons) if for nothing else due to lower heart disease mortality. But I never trust anecdotal evidence, everyone has their own dose of that, and it proves anything and everything. For every 100 year old vegetarian there's a daily-cigar-smoking 100 year old.

There was a study on 7th day Adventists, who are vegetarian, and live longer, but most of them don't smoke either, and they have God on their side, so its hard to extract from all the factors.

In the early 90s a major study in China showed that they generally eat a lot less meat and have way fewer major diseases; the ones that do eat meat got more diseases (heart attack, stroke, et al)

In fact a lot of studies are done on foreigners who have basically different diets, most with a lot less meat, and have less incidence of major disease; those who move to America and adopt our diet have a higher frequency of health problems. Again, here, there are genetic factors to consider among others but it raises a point.

And finally, and most anecdotally, I've seen a lot of studies where people are just divided into dietary groups and tested, which gives a "snapshot" of health not necessarily viable over the long term, but vegans test out best, followed by vegetarians, then meat eaters in areas such as blood pressure, stamina, obesity, cholesterol levels, bowel function, etc.

he he I said "bowel function"

<annoying asshole>

you're all a bunch of vagitarians.

Hikaru - in addition to not liking meat, i HATE mushrooms (plant matter), with a passion. I dont want to eat anything that the fungus has touched. People are very particular about their food, which is why I could never work in food service. That being said, I personally respect everyone's right to eat whatever the fark they want, it's not my business.
The issue with BK for me is about false advertising, not being a vegetarian.

2002-04-06 05:28:27 PM
I'm not even vaguely a vegan/vegeterian/strict non-cannibal and I don't want to eat at Burger King anyway. I don't like most fast-food places, especially McDonalds and Burger King. Have you ever looked into the fat content of their food? It's absurd. I want to know just how they can manage to cram that much fat into one little burger... really.. they have to come up with new ways to actually fit more fat into them. Meat is good, but the stuff they serve at those places is something very different from any actual meat. Murder Burger's ostrich burger, now that's some good stuff.

(Octo-Lavo)

HAAAAAAhahahahahahaha!!!!!!

Lacto Ovo, you troll.

"VEGGIE BURGERS ARE PEOPLE!!!"

2002-04-06 05:34:25 PM
A funny thing about this crazy vegan woman...

Um, for the umpteenbillionth time, she wasn't vegan, never said she was...

that's why the "meat juices" bothered her, and not the milk-laden bun or the mayo.

2002-04-06 05:34:55 PM
Soylent green... Why don't we recycle our dead into something useful, like food. When I die, I want something useful or amusing done with the otherwise worthless slab of meat I leave behind. A family barbeque before the actual funeral... then at the funeral itself, it's revealed that the burgers had been bade of 100% all Me. By the way, am I red meat, or white meat?

2002-04-06 05:36:46 PM
.... though that would ruin my plans to either be stuffed like an attacking bear, or to be skinned and turned into a leather vest.

2002-04-06 05:38:36 PM
Proctomancer: man, you've got some serious problems. But that's cool; the barbeque idea is brilliant!

2002-04-06 05:39:57 PM
Although now that I think about it, you could have two of three if they skinned you before grinding you up into manburger.

2002-04-06 05:40:35 PM
Yeah, Octo Larvo, you know, will only eat octopus larvae.

I gave up eating meat for 8 months while I was dating a HOT vegan chick.

It was worth it.

2002-04-06 05:43:39 PM
Hey, yeah... And the vest made of me would be willed to PETA.

2002-04-06 05:48:31 PM
I love rheotric of all kinds it all sounds so damn tired after awhile. You get this image in you're head of these 100 year old men saying shiat like " Well Vegen are healther" Old man #2 "eating meat is like eating black children while raping baby jesus and stabbing a jew." Good lord I think we all need to put on our "animals aren't people but soylent green is" hat and leave.
B.D.

I gave up eating meat for 8 months while I was dating a HOT vegan chick.

"eating meat is like eating black children while raping baby jesus and stabbing a jew."

COUNT ME IN!

2002-04-06 05:53:08 PM
So the question is did she spit or swallow, Tucci? Because if she swallowed then wouldn't that be liek eating meat or potential meat or something? Or potential people?

2002-04-06 05:57:29 PM
why do you think God put animals like cows and chickens and pigs on this earth? TO ride? No, that's why we have horses. They are there to eat! Anyone want to take me on? Huh you PETA cowards?

2002-04-06 06:07:07 PM
Oh and A Man Unhinged....
WHAT THE FARK IS WRONG WITH YOU?
You gave up meat for pussy? And only 6 monthes of pussy? Give me a break, women are all over the place and it's not like they're hard to come by. And besides that what kind of emasculated twit are you? I mean ko towing to a freaking vegen just to get laid. Give me a steak any day. There ain't nothing sex can give me that a decent meal can replicate. And on top of that it's not like you can't find more of them around to bang. Jeez. This is the down fall of the American male.

2002-04-06 06:12:19 PM
I don't know, Bigdawg, if the chick were hot enough, I might consider giving up hamburgers to get between the beef curtains... you're right, it's not all that hard to hook up a sportfark but if she was as hot as he says she is, the tradeoff might be worth it.

2002-04-06 06:13:00 PM
Although I probably ought to give up hamburgers anyway...

2002-04-06 06:13:28 PM
Six months without meat without steak? worth sex.....unless I was getting farked 3 ways to sunday by the 4 actresses of my choice. No.

2002-04-06 06:14:46 PM
I was quoting a man unhinged in italics.
You'll have to ask him about that.

As for myself, facial anyone?
;-)

2002-04-06 06:17:57 PM
if the chick were hot enough

and I do mean incredibly hot. plus I probably would eat steaks anyway and just not tell her about it.

2002-04-06 06:19:32 PM
A woman in line ahead of me at BK once ordered a Whopper - Hold the meat -- ???!!?!!!?!?!?!!?
Just the Bun, Veggies and Condiments.....

2002-04-06 06:20:09 PM
Couldn't you just tell the broad that you gave up meat, and not eat it when she's around?

Or would she taste it in your semen?

2002-04-06 06:40:10 PM
Darth orders you to eat meat

Enjoy your colon cancer, red-meat eaters!

(actually, I eat burgers now and then myself, but I think if you are advertising something as vegetarian, it shouldn't have any animal by products in it)
Everyone should read Francis Moore Lappes Diet for a small planet. educate yourselves, and maybe you wouldn't be so closed minded to those with opposing veiwpoints....

holy mother of fark!!!

Being a vegetarian is taking precious plants away from those farking animals out there!! Just stop farking eating.

By the way, wouldn't it be funny to see a vegan wolf?
::Wolf turns nose up at kill

Don't you have a vegan meal?
-What, this is a plant eater!
But I don't like to survive on the suffering of others.
-Wha..who..shut the fark up! It's a necessity of life that there's a little pain, go choke on those tears, you farking fark fark fark. ::

Sorry about all the expletives, but I guess I'm not in a mood to coddle whiners.

Model4I am morally opposed to eating meat. If you are ethically opposed to eating a cat or dog then think of something you are morally opposed to eating. Your parents perhaps.
And as I said before, I am not opposed to Burger King nor do I believe that by not eating there I will save thousands of cows. What I am opposed to is eating something marketed and sold as a vegetarian product which is not.

2002-04-06 08:06:43 PM
Holy cow, XBodo99, I realize I don't have a star and all, but that's no way to be! I'll consider what you've said, though, and perhaps I'll alter my comedy stylings so as not to offend your sensibilities.
