Maybe you think America is #1 in the whole world forever. Fine.

Perhaps you think we deserved revenge against the Middle East for 9/11. OK.

You could hold the belief that gays are teh evil and should be banned. Choose your own holy book, it's America.

You may feel safer after the DHS federalized all the airport screening. It's a matter of opinion.

But I cannot, under any circumstances, understand why you would choose this particular man to spearhead your agenda. If the current Republican party is in line with your beliefs, please vote for somebody eloquent and intelligent.

I'm a left winger (idependant, hate both parties) and I would would vote for McCain in a second. It'd be wonderful to have a 4-8 year span of *less* decisiveness.

No thanks. McCain makes a good show of being a moderate and something of a rebel in the GOP. And then he goes and votes with the Republicans 99% of the time.

His moderate image is just that. An image. Make no mistake about where on the political spectrum he really stands.

To seal the deal, McCain's shameless shilling for Bush during the campaign, after all the shiat that Bush & Rove shovelled on him in 2000, dispelled any misperceptions I might have had about the man's integrity or self-respect.

Like it or not, you guys posting the childish images and immature leftist wacko "kill bush", "bush sucks", etc comments here are really in the minority. I'm happy that the voting public finally screwed their heads on right and elected a honest president. Even though he's obviously human and makes mistakes, its a far cry from someone who goes into the back room to mess around - and then when caught redhanded like a kid in the cookie jar, proclaims their innocence.

In regards to McCain and his presidential chances...

Meh.. he's shown to have a fairly collapsable spine. He comes across nicely as the common man and the champion of the middle, but when he's up against the wall he tends to cave in to standard GOP ideals.

Also, if you look at the guy's personal beliefs, he's more conservative than you'd think.

In 2000, I'd have voted for him over Bush, no doubt, but now? Eh.. I don't know. He'd have to prove something to me. Not sure what that'd be, but something to prove he is more centrist than the rest of his party.

Shocking revelations. I mean, first the President with talking points, and then people on the internet bashing him for it. I don't think I can take any more shocks today. Next thing you know, Fark threads will degrade into personal attacks...or stuff like Farkof4000years. I am shocked.

Huh. If I post something that Shrillary/Scary Reid/Rebel Yell Dean says in transcript form, what kinda thread would result?

Yeah, real honest.

I was in Florida. And my chief of staff, Andy Card -- actually I was in a classroom talking about a reading program that works. And I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower -- the TV was obviously on, and I use to fly myself, and I said, "There's one terrible pilot." And I said, "It must have been a horrible accident."

But I was whisked off there -- I didn't have much time to think about it, and I was sitting in the classroom, and Andy Card, my chief who was sitting over here walked in and said, "A second plane has hit the tower. America's under attack."

Nevermind that the footage of the first plane hitting the tower was not available at the time. He's a pretty good bullshiat artist though, isn't he? To make things worse, he was lying to a child.

Typical liberal, living in the house a republican built

These "town hall" meetings are a joke. We had one a few months back in Montana. The seating is limited to around 2,000 people so the free tickets are given out by a pseudo lottery. You have to sign up at the local office of our republican senator, and you are heavily heavily screened. The worst part is that you only get to ask pre written, pre approved questions. The press reports the event, which is basically scripted....IT"S A JOKE.

Here's another good one. You'll like this one.

We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories. You remember when Colin Powell stood up in front of the world, and he said, Iraq has got laboratories, mobile labs to build biological weapons. They're illegal. They're against the United Nations resolutions, and we've so far discovered two. And we'll find more weapons as time goes on. But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them.

This one's pretty good, too.

The larger point is, and the fundamental question is, did Saddam Hussein have a weapons program? And the answer is, absolutely. And we gave him a chance to allow the inspectors in, and he wouldn't let them in.

2005-05-26 12:00:42 AM
Jayguy You have to be careful with these guys. They may not be the smartest, but they can google, and they have decent memories. Still does not prove they are correct, but they have the e-comeback down pat.
